That's the big question right there. I just emailed Ploom CS and asked for some. They replied very quickly that they were sending some my way. Expecting it any day now.
Was there a charge for this, if so how much? Did you try it yet, assuming you have received it by now

I have not received it yet, but no charge. I just emailed them with a copy of my original invoice, told them of my involvement in the discussion of the issue on FC, and asked for some lube to see if it could solve my problem. They responded the same day saying they would send some right out, and the next day I received a ship notice.

I got mine from using the Chat feature on the website also, so far the oiled MP they sent has been great no issues at all. I use the PAX a couple times a day.

Hmmm. Question for those of you with more experience with the Pax:

We've used it the last couple of nights. Packed it pretty good with stuff that hasn't been ground in a coffee grinder, just a simple hand grinder (i.e. not super fine, just run through a simple hand grinder.) Temp is set to the middle temp on the Pax.

My wife and I were using it and noticed a couple of things. One, it seemed the green light never went off - we handed it back and forth, but the purple light rarely came on. Secondly, it seems that it blackened the oven full of stuff pretty quick. I was surprised at how quickly it seemed that we were starting to get what looked and felt like smoke, and when I opened the Pax to stir after we each had taken a few hits, the contents were pretty close to black.

Is it possible that I'm doing something that causes it to overheat? We are taking small puffs....

at first i thought the pax was inefficient but doing a side by side comparison with da budha i noticed it's not bad. I think w/ da budha i was compensating for marginal quality bud by just turning up the heat until desired cloud effect reached. That same bud does not work as well with the pax. W/ some nice lambsbread i got just for the pax a little bit definitely went further. Green light stays on for the most part unless it goes into standby

Right tried the party mode roll... I'm lol now. Found that full ovens are best long runners, most clouds and taste on low.. I run it low till its out then medium till taste turns abv... Then high till its gone. I modded it by simply adding restriction to mp tube, bit of cotton squeezed in and lightly rammed till top of tube in plastic moulding which holds tube. It allows me to suck it like a cigarette and get rewarded with a cloud and good effect. Love it's styling and performance... Not impressed with battery life and its leaky nature when it comes to smell.. I dropped in an oven once, was ripping away at it and my wife passed by in between rips and commented on how that smell makes her sick... Also it will smell like weed when first turned on... So great in big spaces, open or closed to the environment... But in a cinema it could lead to people getting annoyed.. Thus complaining and leading to no vaping signs... Not what I want to see.. Mflb wins this one... A solo in a cup also passes muster in a cinema.. Though I did put nice pipe tobacco into pax and lit her midway though the 3hr film... There was an empty seat on my right so that worked... But if a person was there they might have griped.. So now I'm working out that if I box it with a one way valve or better still, put a one way vale in a custom made rubber(condom) to fit over oven door area thus solving a opening oven too as smell... We shall see how I do it. That with the cotton up the pipe on mp would hold your vapor in the pax. If we added a tube to the mp we could pocket a party mode pax and run the tube up the sleeve of a shirt... So stealthy we need to capture that vapor cloud next... It would build up oil inside.. Maybe it can be extracted by iso later and re vaped? I'll try and see... It's vapor that I did not absorb after all. Condense it in a vapor collector passé the spent air through a 'perfume core' use the type u wear... It should be stealthy and minimal waste no... Ideas any one... I'm probably talking crap as its just a dream idea... No... that said I love the pax and I'm gonna buy another just in case... But first that mini vap has got me drooling, I have some free cash, thank you stock market... But have many commitments... I help a few in need and so I have to save for vapes, just about got the money for that mini. Next month ill fork out the 300plus for pax... I live in Australia and have to use my us.com so it cost me half the mini by the time it ships to me! So merry vaping, happy new year. Pax is charging mflb and I go to bed for stealth vaping. P.s I was first notified of smell of pax from my wife one night in bed. The second time she notified me as I was in passing, between rips, sealed the deal so to speak.. It gives off what herb smell pax is vaping... Then it's abv smell... She hates that one most. Good night.

The green light means it is at the selected temperature, and it will stay on as long as the battery has power and the Pax doesn't remain motionless for more than 20 seconds. This means the Pax is always cooking the load. That's why the flavour deteriorates and the ABV blackens so quickly.

Since you didn't mention the oven end getting too hot to handle, I'm pretty sure that your Pax isn't overheating. If you keep hitting it until it stops giving vapour, the Pax will turn the ABV nearly black even at the medium temperature setting. The taste is pretty foul by then, but some people either don't notice or don't care. It might be this taste that is reminding you of smoke.

Hmm, so that would indicate it would be best to take a hit and sit it down and let it cool a touch rather than hold it between hits. For some reason last night it seemed less effective: we did 3 ovens between my wife and I, but never felt really ripped at all, just a mellow mild buzz.

Try starting on yellow/low, you can hit as much as you want and the flavor just stays. Then move up to orange to finish it off. This way you extract 90% of the stuff when the vapor is tastey and you don't have to cook it so much at higher temps. I usually get chocolate brown abv rather than dark coffee brown when I do 75% on low and a couple hits on medium.

We'll try that. We definitely did not get as buzzed as I would have expected from 3 loads.

Also - I have some herb that is merely ground down via a handheld little common grinder (you know, the circular ones they give away, LOL!) and some that is finer, ground in a coffee grinder. Which is best for the Pax?

That method would lead to a shorter battery life because it will go into standby (lower temperature, blue light) and then when it senses movement, it has to re-heat the oven. Even in standby mode the oven is hot enough to vapourize the terpenoids that give you flavour.

I use my Pax to share with my wife when we watch TV in the evenings. I generally fill the oven about halfway with a medium to fine grind, pressed but not firmly packed. I set it to low and we will take 4-5 hits each, without much waiting between tokes. Then I turn it off and let it cool for a few minutes while we let the effects come on. 15-30 minutes later I open the oven, stir, and heat it up on low again for another 4-5 hits each. Repeat except next time I'll go to medium. At this point the ABV is a dark brown. If it's a long night then we'll gor for another round on high. When that one is finished, the ABV is almost black.

The flavour is poor after about the third or fourth hit of the night, it's already terrible when we turn the heat up to medium, and it is pretty disgusting by the time we finish. My wife doesn't seem to mind so I put up with it. She likes the Pax.

I just use a regular grinder too, as long as the bowl can be compressed almost solid it should give thick vapor so you could try the fine ground but it might restrict airflow.

A bowl that's compressed to almost a solid brick that comes halfway to filling up the oven works best for me :2c:

This is exactly the method I like as well. I rarely use high at all anymore. Oh, and I only use a hand grinder and grind medium to medium-fine.

I use a regular 2 piece grinder, grind to medium- medium fine but I pack my oven 3/4 of the way full packed. And I start on low and work my way through, but I swear I'm getting 30+ good rips per oven.

I got a package from ploom in my mailbox today! It was the lube, like 5 packs of it! But wait there's more..... There was also the deluxe cleaning kit, a new mouthpiece, stickers and magnets! I love this damn company!

They must like you a hell of a lot more than they like me. All I got were three packets of lube and two stickers, not even any explanation or instruction, just those five items tossed into an envelope. Oh well, no second Christmas for me, but at least I got the lube.

Long time lurker of this thread. I finally got my pax but it came with a few small scratches :( anyone else have this happen? Also made some crackling when first turned on (with an empty oven) but seems to only be a one time thing.

I'm not sure if I mentioned this here, but I found a hidden vaporization store near where I live and they contain products like the volcano digit, the atmos raw, the cloud pen, WISPR, iolite, etc.

So one day I go in (beginning of dec) to get pipe cleaners. I told him he needs to check out the Pax. So I figured he wasn't going to listen to me but whatever. I went in today to get more pipe cleaners and buy a plain bowl for my friend who busts. He offers me polish or something I say no it's for a friend I'm into vaporization. He goes its the best. We got so many products now.

I say did you check out the Pax? He says hell yeah. You told me about it. It's the best, so small. I ordered 10 pieces and it was sold out quickly!!! He also had a sticker showing he's an authorized dealer for them now!! He was so pumped! :-)

Yes I feel great that I spread the Pax love :-) anyway just wanted to share this story :-)

Pax is tha word.. It's my e cigar...it fill it full up, till it bursts then place a rectangular screen on top( cut to 80% of oven size) close the lid and on low it vapes so long before I go to high to nail it all. I also use tobacco herb sandwich lots to save herb, making it more like the electric joint now. Also run it on party mode to stop standby light. But batt saps fast... Will look at protected batts again... They have a Pcb on the neg end, like one module in my bms of my ebike battery... I build them see.. Pax has built in cutoff... Charge and discharge too... So dump that Pcb we then have tabs to solder to... The top of them 18650 cell has a double nipple so to speak. Un wrap the cell to expose all including a perfectly wrapped battery under all, it shortens the cell too... Will play fix lots of electronics see so I fear not trying this.. Mflb will rescue if I glitch... Then I'll just buy another to replace it... Spare parts then minus the Pcb...that's worst case. Solo will pacify... Pax would be missed and it takes time for it to come to aus

My pax and I are going under the house to organize the storage mess.. Trippy spiders. Pax on fill her up cum on

A few weeks ago i found out the second use of the pax, so i was turning it on in the dark and the mouthpiece of course decides to leap into the darkness, at this time i was thinking im fucked but then i realized the pax doubles as a flashlight!!! The temp light is a flashlight, the pax is already revolutionary but with a flashlight, it is the best stoner tool ever!!!!!!
