vapes on sites other then authorized is a dangerous game.

For exemple, Arizer assembles their vaporizers in Canada.... okay, but are the parts MADE in Canada ?? No ! Made in China !!!
So when you see that, do you think it's a copy ? Not really... it's only chinese people who assembles parts made in china for Arizer !
It's exactly the same, but one haven't the Arizer warranty.....

question for owners.

can you pocket your evolution (probably with the mouthpiece facing the ground) and start the heating process in the pocket, then sip the vapor after the heat up and then pocket it again safely?

I don't see why not (provided you don't remove the heat shield as some do). You might, however, have trouble finding one?

I would like to see the real US fabric of the t1....... It's just a question, sorry, but I wonder whether the T1 is actually manufactured in the USA, or outsourced to China?
Is it only a (good or bad) copy, or the share of the real T1 are made in China??
Many large companies make their parts in China, without telling anyone.......
I really admire TET if they manufacture all their parts in the USA

I'm sorry, I don't follow what "the real US fabric" is all about, but I can assure you they were most definitely US made. All the machining and assembly were done in the same shop as the engineering. I visited it several times (before they moved) and reported it in these forums. They depended heavily on 3 Swiss made state of the art 'screw machines' to build the whole thing from rods of (US made) Aluminum, brass, PTFE, and Delrin. The parts were plated in a local plating shop, laser engraving was also done in the area. One machinist tended the 3 machines which sometimes ran two shifts. Minimum runs were 15,000 parts, some runs ten times that.

The custom ceramic pieces are US sourced as well.

The heater coils were all hand wound in that same shop (probably something like a third of them (?) by our own Thermal Core Tim (that's how he got the name.....), from coils of special alloy wire (also made in US.....picking up a theme?).

They openly lament no US supplier for batteries, and refused to use off shore supplies for PAs (we only got the 6 Volt one, never did get a 3.7).

They were (and remain) passionate about the point, you can buy with confidence.

Many thanks OF ;)..... so TET is a real US manufacturer.... so I know now that items on Alibaba are only copies.

You're welcome. They are counterfeits having nothing to do with the original's manufacture. I'd be very surprised if they didn't 'cheat' on the materials as well. TV used the absolute best available.

Sad, really.

ThermoVape absolutely pride themselves on being all-American. There's a small premium to pay for that to happen, as I obtained a unit from their electronic cigarette line (the Ultra) and a single atomizer for a total of $134 after a 15% code IIRC. However... having had owned it now for a few months and having bought a new attachment for concentrates, I can say that the quality is definitely there. I wouldn't hesitate at all to replace my current setup as soon as possible if I were to lose it. I'm taking a couple puffs of some e-juice with their e-cig attachment right now, and I have to say the taste is amazing. I'll be hugging this one in bed tonight

I don't see nothing about e-cig on TET site ...... I would be interesting about that (I just bought a Mini-Did MMV for my wife, because I don't want she vapes with "chinese plastic")... I looking for the most safe e-cig (I ordered a Cera LL + e-liquid cart.)
I'm a little disapointed that TET never uploads a video about Cera + e-liquid cart........ I don't even know if there is a tank or if it's the principle of "dry", and I should not be the only one !
I hope the e-liquid cart is a good product.....

You know, you seem to be really getting into the spirit of things around here. Some narrow minded busy bodies might find fault with such a man/machine relationship but I at least think it's probably OK....maybe.....you haven't been hanging out with BDV have you?

It's an obsolete line, although there are a few places that have it in stock. AVA is the name often found on it. Cera is the replacement. It uses the same basic pieces as the oil cart. I understand it has a lower power heater, and smaller pores in the ceramic. It is much the same as their old line, only a little larger in size. Inside it has four ceramic rings stacked up (potentially two taller ones later) and a plate of the same material across the top with a gap on the side for vapor passage. The heater goes up the tube from the bottom. In practice the pores of the ceramic hold the liquid and meter it out. From time to time you add a few drops more down the mouthpiece (where it soaks into the reservoir) and the cycle repeats. The guys in their shop have this funny habit of pulling one out of a pocket, putting it up to their ear and taking a hit. They claim you quickly learn to judge the battery charge and how much is in the reservoir that way.

For sure it's going to be a very good product, given their past history. I'm sure you'll be very happy....if they ever get them shipped, of course.......

Have you try by yourself the Cera with EL cart., OF ? Do you know if we have to wash it before change flavour ?

If that's what e-cig guys call them? Makes sense. Not to worry, I'm just having a little fun, TV is a very reliable outfit, I'm sure they'll ship as soon as they can do so 'right'.

You'll like it, and you won't find a 'cleaner' vape anywhere, the main designer is a MD and a 'nut' on the subject.

is there any decreased performance in cold weather conditions with the evolution?

I have used my launchbox in the cold with no problems, but the nearly all metal construction of the evo would get cold, no?

I figure that at the speed they copy products, TET better pray the chinese don't get a hold of one of the beta Ceras and beat them at delivery.
No, seriously, I will never but a chinese product that I know has to do with inhaling because I have no idea what materials they used and I know cutting costs is their main objective so materials are not going to be the safest.

It's funny, one of the very first things to go through my little mind as I held it for the first time (remember, I didn't know it wasn't alumina) was 'hey, this ain't your daddy's ceramic....bet they'll have trouble knocking this one off'. Zirconia is way heavy relatively, I got to thinking they'd lead weight cheap cast ceramic units to make them 'heft' like the fake Rolex watches they sell. IIRC we joked a bit about it. Would future vapes be lead weighted to make them seem like Zirconia as well? How about Tungsten?

You'd probably get more response on the correct Forum.

I seriously doubt there's an issue. The problem would come from the battery, I'd think, what are you planning on using? Otherwise the insulation should work well for reasonable conditions. As it is we have to heat the load about 300F to get it vaping, lowering it to zero degrees F instead would add another 70 making us have to heat an 370 or so degrees.

But this is a small fraction of the 'headspace' we have in the core. There we can tap into over a thousand degrees if we need them. Unlike with some other designs. We have 'heat to burn'.

So, expect a little longer step 1 (a few seconds more?), a longer step 2 (maybe several seconds longer even) followed by a pretty much normal step 3. I predict no real problems.....except maybe finding one?

hey OF, thanks for the reply, your relpys have been helpful throughout this thread. Is there another thread i should read up on or are you confusing your threads? (not being a smartass, this will be my first thermovape product. tone is a bitch on the interwebs, lol.)

thanks for clarifying the three step method youve mentioned in the previous posts as well, i read good reports on it and planned to utilize it when my evolution comes in.

i didnt think the cold would be a big bother. My main concern was the battries. I am OK with leaving my MFLB in the cold, but always pocket the batteries for warmth purposes. I was concerned that the metal body of the base would transfer heat quicker to the batteries.

Id be cautious anyhow. its just that time of year for some of us. figured id see if anybody had ways to combat it.

You're welcome, and quite right, I and the other fellow are on the wrong forum to be discussing Cera stuff. Sorry for the confusion. You answer questions where you find them or miss the chance of getting the message through sometimes.....still worth paying attention, I'll try to do a better job there.

Yes, thinking in terms of the three steps (complete with the necessary 'test puff' to find the end of step 2) is the key I think. Most important in Evolution it seems, although it's important in T1 and Cera as well. As you gain skills you naturally modify it some of course.

One of the big advantages you have in cold is the battery. That class of batteries is much less sensitive to temperature than most other types. A flashlight powered by them stays bright after it's NiMH (like MFLB) or Alkaline powered counterpart. Lead/acid batteries in autos also suffer from this, cold ups the inteernal resistance limiting it's ability to get power out (the 'cold cranking amps' is a key rating in snow country for this reason).

Good luck with your new unit, it's a little harder to get going than T1 IMO, but it rewards you with lots of vapor once you get step 2 done right and given it's cylindrical bowl doesn't require stirring between hits, a big plus especially in stealth mode.

Enjoy it, it's a great little product IMO. Remember, it needs strong batteries to give top performance. Be ready to sway a fresh one in to be sure you're not fighting a weak battery at the first sign of 'not working great'. Too many times I've figured the load is cashed when it isn't. If the fresh battery doesn't put it right, you can always switch back and keep it in reserve.

You're welcome, again, I'm sorry for confusing you.

You might even want to check out the T1 thread, IIRC the 3 steps idea started there. Evolution was really sort of a follow on to T1, exploring some interesting and useful (it turns out) ideas. Evolution also brought out the experimenter in a lot of owners, which IMO is a good thing.

does TV still sell this conversion since they removed all thermovape parts from the site? i know 3rd parties will still carry them till their stocks run out since the ceras the new thing. but its an intresting vape and i have a very low tolerance and only use 3-6 aromazap stems a day so vaping a small amount is perfect for me. the cera flower cart looks even larger than the T1 so im wondering how it performs with smaller loads.. hoping to be a tv owner soon may end up with the cera but i like it and the older models as well :peace:

Yes, I believe one of the last things they have for the first gen line is the SV evo conversion. At least it was there last night, I was thinking about picking it up myself.

You may want to grab it while you can, I'm going to send them an email now about adding it to my cera order, hopefully there is enough for both of us.

the Cera bowl size is smaller than on the T1. it is also shaped to more of a cylinder (like the EVO) instead of the rounded/angled bowl of the T1.

send them an email and ask if they still have them. info@thermovape.com

otherwise keep an eye out in the classified section here on FC. ive got a feeling you will be seeing some Evos start popping up there as soon as the Cera hits the public. i may be willing to part with one of my LV Evo cores, but youd still need the sleeve (if you wanted it) and a mouth piece. either way i think you will have some options.
