Discontinued Thermovape Cera (Original thread, closed because of chaos)

I am who I am and your approval isn't needed!
Aside from attempted savings to circumvent possible duty & taxes, my concern of doing that would be the lack of recovery potential should the package be lost, and that DOES happen occasionally. I have to much vested in this purchase to take any risk.

I would'nt hesitate to ask Thermovape any specific requests regarding your order.

I asked them to declare only 100$ in a mail, but they never answer to that.....

Hey guys, about to put my order in for a Cera.

There doesn't seem to be much info on the EL cart but I remember a post (but can't seem to find it again) by TV saying that EL would work in the EO cart at slightly reduced performance.

My question is: can I leave the bottom switch on and toggle the upper safety switch to take a hit when using EL more like a traditional e-cig with a button, and is there warm up time when using EL?

First off, howdy, welcome to the Forum. And congratulations, your timing is spot on! Provari is cool, but IMO the Gentleman's carts are 'sub par' in the game and Cera is poised to change the whole game leaving them further back in 'useful sometimes but not as stable as others' land.

PB has once again been quick with the straight poop, the slide switch turns out to be quite useful. I'm one of the Beta testers (I have both the LL and EO versions in nearly their final form) and while at first I never used it (with herb), once the oil cart got here I found I needed a 'chicken switch' big time. Sucker can get away from you and jackpot more vapor than most mortals can deal with. I found it very comforting to have my thumb on that button. It doesn't take very long at all to start naturally using it.

While I don't yet have an EL cart to try (I've got the tincture right here, ready to test.....) I'm sure you're on the right track. I'm sure I'll get one to test in due time, but right now they have their hands more than full trying to get stuff to eager customers (as they should). We know something of the technology in use, in fact a great lot, due to TV's prior lines which included a sting of e-cig products and several versions of herb and concentrate carts. From that (same technology, much bigger size now, and better configuration) I can confidently predict excellent performance 'even with the wrong cart'. I predict you'll be going back to order the dedicated EL so you can keep the EO cart 'fueled and ready to fly'.

No doubt about it, the waiting is cruel, worse for many. I feel guilty to be enjoying the Beta unit, but it is what it is. Soon I know I'll have lots of company. I'll bet this thread really takes off real soon.....unless the new owners are too loaded to type.....

Anyway, once again, welcome and best wishes. Stand by to be truly impressed.....it's a winner IMO.

I asked them to declare only 100$ in a mail, but they never answer to that.....

Would you? As a company agree to attempt to cheat on legal duty fees? I don't know about there, but here that would qualify as 'conspiracy to defraud' I bet? Just the opportunity for some bureaucrat somewhere to press to improve his/her career. They might do it 'on the sly' but IMO it's stupid (even literally criminal) to agree to do so 'in writing'. No well run company would expose itself and it's customers to that IMO, the downside could be really ugly given the nature of the business. How would you like it if the courts gave Customs access to all the shipment information so they could be sure nobody else has cheated them? Not to be paranoid, or critical of the idea, but that's kind of how I see it.

:) Hey Guys
Well thanks to OF, I’m now one of the lucky people who has got to try Cera.
First off it is a very solidly built unit, good weight in your hand about 10ozs, very simple design not a lot to fail. The looks, well let’s hope for the skins soon! (*IMHO) Use is very simple and to my surprise the button on the side didn’t bug me as much as I thought it would. For the oil it comes in handy cycling power so you don’t over heat oil. Now I don’t know if it will overheat your oil or not but I hate the taste of burnt oil so I didn’t try.
I don’t know what battery or charge because they are color coded for testing, but there was no problem at all the 2 ½ hrs we were testing. Lots of BS in there, not all run time. Over this time I took a good 10 hits BIG CLOUDS! Cera never blinked! The unit didn’t seem to get very hot to the touch, but then I cycle the power and really never tried to get her cooking on the outside, I’m sure if you just ran it like was done in the video It would get pretty hot, but there’s no need to run it like that unless you have a party with her and ten people or something crazy like that, and I think she could do it.
I must point out that I had hurt my throat the day before, toasted it on another vape toy, and my throat was VERY raw to the point it hurt to talk. So when I took my first few hits, just getting Cera warm I was coughing because of my sore throat, but then I put Cera on my Mobius and BOOM!! Nice cool vapor, massive clouds no coughing perfect! Plus we didn’t even have the O-ring for Cera, I just pushed it into place and ripped! Of course it will work better w/O-ring, BUT I must say Cera really shined when I put the Lung to her! I can’t wait to try her when my throat is better and have more time.
Uniformity we didn’t get to the LL unit, but if it works anything like the oil cart I’m sure people will be happy.
In closing I know that this has been a long wait and people think it’s too pricy etc. and marketing this and that BUT, When everybody finally gets there unit IMHO you will be very happy with her, I enjoyed my short visit and I'm looking forward to many more dates in the future.
If you have any questions I'll try and answer what I can. I'll be at the 49ers game today so don't think I'm ignoring you.

I have my batteries stacked next to each other, and I noticed my 17670's are almost the same size (slightly smaller) than the 18650s and I wondered if they would run the Cera too. I would not expect them to last as long of course, but I wonder if they will power it well enough that I can use them if needed?? Any input OF?

I also noticed my new AW 18650 2000mah (red) is almost 1/4" shorter than my Orbtronic 18650s, and hoping that this isn't an issue.

First off, it's all true, I was there....

I like to quickly add we weren't testing for two plus hours, it was the first time we'd met face to face and we had a lot of the problems of this troubled world to solve as well...... Turns out Kevin is a fun guy, future visits are on my 'to do' list. Then again when he gets his own......

I won't argue on the hit count, I wasn't keeping score, but there were some truly impressive ones in there. Man's no Noah (at least not playing hurt like he was), but he knows how for sure. It was fun to watch from the side, you could see when the seal gave out and fresh air would rush in, but once the seal was solid so was the vapor.

To me the exciting part was when he put it on the WP. He was hurting for sure, unable to take even fairly moderate hits (the kind I like....). I've no doubt that he could do better in top form, and I'd like to be there for the rematch if even only as a spectator.

Since then I can't seem to get my mind off what this means for a small but IMO most important part of the Medical Users. Kevin needs serious medication, it's clear to see this is no hobby with him. A few tokes on the Omicrons aren't going to cover it sometimes. Like all of us he sometimes has 'accidents' like he was telling me about the day before that lead to grief the next day. But he needs the meds. I know lots of folks are in the same boat. The key, I think, is he very quickly got control of heat. He was able after a few trials to strike a balance of hot enough to produce all the vapor he needed without the extra heat that would spoil the hit. Toward the end I noticed he'd automatically pick up the Cera and WP and take a huge hit while continuing the rambling conversation we were having. I noticed he'd adopted a technique that involved pushing the slide with his thumb and back with the side of his index finger rather than rolling the unit and using his thumb both times like I do. He was somehow able to control the heat through the hit, I'm guessing it's a 'nailhead kinda skill'? Whatever, I think it represents a huge boon to a small but important segment of the Medical Users.

Yes, using 17670 was included in the design, they work in my Beta unit. Even though it's spring and end cap are not the final version (yet), I'm sure it will work in the final version. It's a little loose (of course), you might want to wrap a strip of paper around it?

yay, cause I would rather not see my 2- 17670s just sitting here. Good to see another report of Cera use, thanks for the info guys. I've got some nice looking oil waiting to be loaded in the EO cart. I'm almost afraid, as I am a bit of a light weight with oil to begin with. I think I am just fascinated with the performance, and wanted to have the EO on hand for when I do get visits from oil friends.

:dog:i wouldnt rip off anyone im a honest person but hey on a medical disability any discount would be appreciated. Its to bad TET doesnt give a medical user discount since there so medically minded. anyway i think this cera will medicate me fast and easy. the applications that this cera offers are just perfect for my medical needs and looks powerful and efficient.

Medical Mark,

I am who I am and your approval isn't needed!
Would be nice Mark considering the available funds avail to such, but I also see it opening a whole :worms:

For instance, I'm not carded (only because I'm both unable to find a willing doctor, not willing nor can afford the fee they want from a dispensary, and not willing to be 'on a list'), yet on disability and use mj over pharma crap by choice & need for my ailments & injuries.

Where would a vendor draw the line ? and would they be right in doing so ? I think it would be a very hard call. As well, "I" also believe that the majority that use do so medically in lieu of pills/alcohol/whatever, since they are gaining a relief whether for physical, mental, stress... "I" consider that a medical use.

Like I said ..... tough call, but I do get your jist behind the comment for financial reasons.

Q for those of you with a Revolution: I'm going back and forth about canceling my preorder and just buying a revolution. I can get one for like $150 at this point... Thoughts?

Cons:
- I think I'd be cut out of certain concentrates (but I could prob live w that), right?
- battery life wouldn't be as good (but w ones I've used, I only need 2 hits)
- might leak..
- I'm gay, so I always need the newest, shiniest thing to show off

Pros:
+ I'd save $325 (or $225 w/o the herbal cart, to make this an even comparison)
+ wouldn't have $500 in unsecured debt w tet
+ could get it delivered this week (haven't gotten any emails from tet since placing my order, so dunno when mine might ship)

Would appreciate any input

Couple quick questions,do you know what the temps are on the 3 carts? I know there is a range of temps for each one, just wondering if you had measured those temps with the equipment you salvaged from that u.f.o. crash.
How is Cera holding up in the cleaning dept.? Have you run enough so resin could form? If so,where? Have you had to do any cleaning yet? If so,where does the resin seem to gather? Any tough spots to reach? To my eyes all the pics. I've seen show you can pretty much wipe any build up easily, but I was wondering about the mouth piece.
So you have not used the LL yet? I was curious if real a real fine grind could possibly get into the mouth piece.
One last thing, thank you for sharing your knowledge and experiences about Cera. You've got an insane base of knowledge floating around in your brain, and a sense of humor sharp enough to cut steel....pretty much the perfect beta-tester!
I gotta go scrape some resin and try to catch a buzz,so think of all us poor folk who just can't get "the good stuff" on any kind of regular basis.

P.S.,
Can I come to your pad to try Cera out? Pleeeaaase? I'm almost 70% potty trained,I don't start to many fires and with my shrinks help I've almost stopped shooting at things that may or may not actualy exist.

Thanks in advance for your time!

I can be on a plane late tonight and be on the left coast by morning. I am sure you would keep score if I was there and probably have to ask for some compensation if I got proper with the Cera since I would space it.

Best news is the ease of use, for people to get properly medicated on a device they have never used is rare in the world of vaping oils.

Thank you to both of you, I really like first hand reports and both of you have given me what I need to order. Will this unit put an elephant down? I will let you know when I get one, I have no doubt that it will keep me going inbetween dabs, if it can take the place of dabs I will be smiling ear to ear for a long time.

OF, do you ever run your potable vaped through glass? I know from videos and from comments in your post that the Cera will run upside down and work, a gasket makes an even better connection but I can't help but wonder if an attachment hose gong wouldn't be better. Opinion? Suggestion for any of the PV gongs that would be best? Be patient and see what TET offers?

Good luck with that. You'd have better luck locating Superman's Fortress of Solitude.

We've hung out on many occasions (I too got to sample the Cera) but he has yet to reveal the location of his home planet.

Thought about putting a GPS tracking device on his car, but he's probably got some sort of electronic shield around his lair.

Well I've got a thought for you, as one of the few fellows who's tried both I can assure you if you had both Cera and Revolution on hand, Revolution would be awfully lonely most of the time......

You know, SD you make me smile a whole lot around here, please keep it up? It's good to not always be the craziest guy on the bus you know.....

Cera seems to be killing off testers faster than it can foul out. What little junk escapes is for the most part very easy to wipe away when warm. It was designed that way. With the exception of the thru holes in the MP that is. Just for the drill I tried pipe cleaners there and they did a great job (the side holes go straight through so the only 'blind poke' is at the cleanest part to start with. If you were to add a little ISO to the mix you'd be home free.

I did a fair bit of herb testing before the oil cart got here, it's very cool. The 'expanded UFO' built into the top is doing a great job. Not only would debris have to make four hard right angle turns (all 'uphill') but it has to squeeze through a very narrow passage cleverly built into t he rim of the MP. The vapor goes through one of the four channels yo can see in the top then it's free to circulate around just under the lip on the MP and slip up the tiny gap that runs all around between it and the inside of the cover before being collected and routed into one of the four holes. What little debris that makes it out of the bowl seems to collect in the round passage leading to the gap and is found on the outside bevel on the bowl.

I fully appreciate the blessing of so many tested, pure concentrates in the dispensary to choose from. I wish all the needy out there had the same options. Hopefully as time goes on we'll move that way.

I'm going to ignore the kind word for now, I think when you sober up you're going to be looking to take them back anyway......

Boy you said it, it's very 'first use friendly'. Just this afternoon I took it out to a friends house for his take on it. He's the most serious oil head I know, a true connaisseur if there is such a thing. Once again, what I hoped was going to be a short test ran long.... It also involved a couple of other worthies. 3 serious experts, cool. After some successful testing 'the guys' got off on seeing how good the taste could be using one of several jaw dropping concentrates proposed. These guys are serious about their extracts. We were there for over 3 hours, used Cera without water and got into some deep discussions laced with good humor. I think the best one word appraisal thus far was given, "capable". And that to a very high standard IMO. I won't say it's going to replace fire and hot metal for them, but with all that lovely wax and oil, two WPs and a couple of troches arond not a single dab was done. Not one. Finally, when I came time to go I realized that the primary reason for bringing it out hadn't been done, so I left it there. Yes, I trusted him to clean the cart out, load it with his favorite concentrate and give it a proper test. I should get the details and the Cera back later in the week.....or else.

In that session, when the two other fellow showed up (separately) I simply handed them the warmed up Cera without any explanations past the obvious. Both times they got great hits first time, seemed visibly impressed (both looked at it in their hand with a look of wonder for a bit right after the hit, you could tell they were pleasantly surprised). So, yes it's a very easy vape to 'pick up'. Turn it on, it makes vapor. Lots and lots of vapor. Turn it off, it stops. Simple, effective.

I can't guarantee it will actually put an adult elephant down with one hit. But it will give him wobbly knees....and the second is sure to do the job. Never vaped with a pachyderm myself, I bet with that snout they can blow some heroic smoke rings......

I've run Cera on both herb and oil carts through my little Ehle bubbler using a whip. The herb version is easy to mate up using a short piece of half inch tube over the MP end. The oil cart is even easier since the core has the fitting for mating with drip tips so the adapter TV sells did a great job there. The other day Kevin did a bang up job with his WP) even though we didn't have the right o-ring to seal it. Yes, Cera works great with water in both modes.

OF, can you compare the hit quality between the T1 and the Cera LL? Is it a similar experience, or drastically different?

Much as I like T1, I think I like Cera better. T1 quality and taste is right up there if you stir between hits. And you have to be pretty complete about it. With Cera you don't seem to get the 'channeling' up through the load, that is the whole load seems to toast fairly uniformly where with T1 material next to the metal 'is the last to go'. I think the improved trap scheme also helps. T1 screens tend to plug up easily.

Similar, but clearly improved?

Great to hear this again. Lack of the need to stir between hits is a big draw for me, coming from using the launch box as my "daily driver".

(Talking about T1 and Cera LL)

If there is not a huge improvement in ease of hit/cloud production from the T1 to Cera than I don't care what else 'improved'. Stirring in between hits and the cap getting clogged were small problems IMO compared to the poor vapor/ease of vapor production.

Which is strange because I read earlier in this thread from someone who works at TV that this vape would be much more 'group friendly.' And later I read from a TV guy that 2 people is ideal.

My personal take on it was similar to yours:

I don't think the flower Cera is a poor performer but more like the mflb, a good first vape for someone with a low tolerance maybe, just not completely satisfying for a heavy duty cannabis user. I enjoy the Pax but it goes through flower like a vegan :D

I believe the oil Cera might have been what they were referring to. The oil cera appears to produce roughly 2 to 5 times as much/dense/thick vapor as the flower cera, just based on video observations. That's the one I'm personally very interested in and it certainly looks up to the job of group work ;)

I can say using the Cloud and large glass piece with it, has really pushed up my tolerance line recently, so I will be going into the Cera with a much higher threshold than I ever had when I first got the T1 line. I won't compare my threshold to the big boys, and oil heads, but I do have a pretty demanding routine right now, and my ABV jar has been getting pretty full lately.

I am ready to give the LL a fair shake, before trying to decide how heavy of a hitter it will be. I am starting to feel the excitement again, had to put that on the back burner while the time was passing. I know it won't be much longer now before we get to find out first hand, and all the guess work can turn into reality. Looking forward to it y'all.

Hope everyone finds something enjoyable to do while we count in the new year. Be safe, and love each other.

Fine, sounds like you're not the target user. I suggest another vape more suited to your wants.

Not strange at all, I think both statement are true. Cera is easier to run, doesn't need stirring, doesn't clog up, and is cooler to hold for openers. T1 is basically a 'one man vape'. Smaller groups will work better than larger ones.

Question for those who know whats up. After watching the videos thing looks amazing for oils, im looking on the site and it says its 249.99 for the stainless steel Cera essential oil vaporizer. It says batteries and charger arent included, How many batteries do i need? It say 24.99 for a battery, is this just for 1? Also if I only want to vape oils do i need to buy a EO cartridge because i only see loose leaf and liquid carts on the site? 300$ for everything isnt that bad if you ask me, would be a little bummed if i had to buy a 100$ cartridge for EO on top of that though.

I think you're not seeing the EO cart because you clicked onto the essential oil option, so it would be already included. The others are there if you want them too. So yeah, $300 would get you a full oil kit charger and single battery.

It runs with one battery. I went with one battery but will be receiving two because they had a problem with the supplyso they're sending a different kind with an extra. I figured one was enough for me for a day and I could charge it at night; I also went EO only. One battery should get you about 40-45 mins of use, so it depends on how much usage out of it in a day you need.

Always in a state of confusion and silliness♀
If you only want oil you just buy that one. If you want ll and EO then you have to buy the extra cart.
