Hello all! Hope you've all had a wonderful holidays. One of my news years resolutions is to get healthier, so I've started working out, eating only non-processed foods, and quit smoking cigarettes. I've reduced my herb smoking down considerably as well, as I'm now privy to all the carcinogens you inhale when smoking.

I really want to get a vaporizer, but right now I'm kind of short on cash (holidays AND tomorrows my fiancee's birthday), so my budget is ideally around 50, but I can go a little more. I found a MFLB 2012 for 80 bucks on ebay and I'm wondering if that's a good deal? Also I would like to know what else you need to start vaping? Thank you all so much! I look forward to hearing your responses!

Consider this, right from magic-flight.com:

(keep in mind, the MFLB's warranty is one of its greatest and features)

Will the warranty be honored if I purchase through an Ebay seller?

If it is a legitimate Launch Box with a valid serial number, the warranty is valid. However all sellers from eBay, Amazon and Craigslist are unauthorized sellers. We cannot guarantee the validity of the Launch Boxes that are being sold on these sites. In some cases we have encountered clients who have purchased what they thought were Launch Boxes, and found that either it was a counterfeit, that the serial number had been sanded off, or that the box had already been warrantied.

In such cases where any of these unfortunate situations occur, we strongly recommend that you use the eBay buyer protection programs to get your money back. If you are able to provide your Box’s serial number, vendor/store you purchased from, and the purchase price, in many cases we can track down these unauthorized sellers and put a stop to others being subjected to this fraudulent behavior.

It is also important to note that the MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) of the Launch Box is $119, anyone that is selling the Launch Box for less is an unauthorized seller and may or may not be selling a legitimate Launch Box kit.

Hmmmm, thanks for the info... I'm still tempted to buy it though! I haven't smoked in a couple weeks because I've been waiting to get a vaporizer. Does anyone have any suggestions on a under $100 vaporizer?

Gotta agree with the people saying vapor genie. The coil version is only $35, which makes it well within your budget. In fact, looking at that price, I think I'll buy one for myself as a backup to my hand carved model.

And for a vaporgenie all you need to start vaping is the vape, the stuff to pack the vape, and a lighter. I've found a mini bic works best for me.

Under $100 your choices for a quality unit are very limited. The various VaporGenie models are a good choice if you're OK with using a lighter. The Magic Flight box is also an excellent buy and you can sometimes find it for less than the $119 price. Just make sure you've got a serial number if want warranty coverage.

The best deal going (if you can still get it) on an AC model is the Vapolution package the company has been offering to FC members- http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/vapolution-2-0.4940/ This vape, with the free AIW bowl included in the deal, gives you an all glass vapor path and a time tested vape. I used one for a couple of years. Highly recommend it for the money.

I would watch ebay looking for a used arizer Extreme Q. I just seen one see 2 days ago for $99
free shipping. With all the new vaps and oil rigs that just came out lots of people are selling nice stuff. It's a real digital table top vaporizer with 18.8 GonG fittings. It can do most anything comes with 2 whips 4 bags 3 bowls (It's a party in a box. I spent over $200 on mine 3 years ago and still love it to this day. If you can get up the loot buy one new for $139. Look at the EQ threads on this forum with over 2000 posts or the reviews you can find all over the net. For your price of 100 it might not be easy to find right away but well worth the work i can assure you.

You will want to think about getting extra rechargeable batteries at some point. Theyre not terribly expensive.

For occasional smokers wanting to try vaping, then the lower end of the spectrum is probably a good place to start. However, IMO for someone new to vaping that is normally a heavy smoker...save the money for a solid performing vape to help you make the switch 100%. While the $100 range has some good devices, due to technique and learning curve on many I have observed most people I know either getting bored with them and going back to smoking or moving into a more expensive and better performing vape (which is what I have done...more than once ;).

I won't list a bunch of vapes that are over the $100 price range since there are plenty of suggestions available on this site...but if you really do want to make the switch from smoking and if you are a heavy smoker, it's best to start with a vape that is effective at extraction and provides satisfying hits with a dense vapor/air ratio. Some of them are in my sig, but there are are plenty of others to choose from.
