Have you tried using it in any other configurations? I personally prefer the 'easier' clearing, attributed to using the CloudBuddy's Glass-Stopper/carb. Not to mention it is likely a good way to reduce stress on the VXC's Glass Joint(as well as joint on "x water-pipe"), which should help keep my cloud stay sexy & functioning like a boss. I got my CloudBuddy but haven't had a chance to fully run it through diff. pieces(holidays/family), have only used it on a bubbler thus far. I hope placing the Cloud into the 'other' Female Joint will rid any need of using 45degree GonG adapters, for my stemless tubes. Haven't seen any videos yet of it being used in such a configuration. I think it was designed to do so, & hopefully will work wonderfully with some of my stemless tubes. However, the lack of videos demonstrating this has got me wondering. Maybe I am wrong about it being designed to be used in a different configuration ..

Either way, any 'buddy' of the Cloud's is a 'buddy' of mine!

You can have the Cloud sitting in either configuration. In this video, it clears better:

You can put the Cloud on the other side of the Cloudbuddy if you are using a stemless where there is not enough clearance clearance for the Cloud. In this configuration, pulling the stopper is less effective.

When I checked my cloud package out last nite the price was $574.99.
Now it's $549.99.

Anyone know what happened?

yeah i was trying to get a close up vid this moring, and you can see the vapor form in the tail end as he mentioned with the clearing issues, but i took too big of a hit while i was watching the camera as i was taking the hit and all the sudden had a coughing fit for a good 20 mins. being sick is a bummer :( plus the cloud is just seriously devastating, and on that note i should share this vid

this is what a cloud buddy is for.
Thats my little convertable oil rig, to the doubble honeycomb disc bubbler, to the swagger circ :) used an EQ elbow for an adapter. i like how i sit down...rub my hands together, and get right back up like some kind of fiend ready for their next hit, i seriously have some fun with this cloud and you can really tell.

Circ 2.0 on VXL.
So these were just some prototypes? The new 2.0 circ seems to also have a detachable mouthpiece.
Looks like perfect HT for Cloud to me. I'm cusious what more HTs to come. It seems there's always room for improvement.
Only because of this I'm glad I don't have my Cloud yet. It looked perfect before but every day it gets more perfect.

Oh and it seems like it's vapexhale HT. TAFKAGM's work? Looks like Evolver to me. Or did glasstafarian join VXL glass, so the Evolver brand ended?

Wow that does look awesome!!!

I did see some bent neck Evolver's a few pages back. Maybe they aren't ready yet.

I can not wait to get my Cloud back. 2013 will start off shitty but get better once my Cloud comes back :-). Maybe I'm torturing myself by coming to this thread but I can't stay away, LOL :-).

Who else saw this and wanted to stack HT's on top of eachother immediately?

uhhhhhhhh this really sucks. My 4th 3rd(i don't know how to counter very well, feels like 4th) cloud just died on me after like a week and a half. Won't heat just red light. Getting tired of warranty process.

I recall seeing SOMETHING about VXL starting to branch out to retail, but can not recall where I saw/heard that...sorry for the partial info...

I know exactly how you feel. Well, not exactly. I'm on return number 3 myself. Waiting on my replacement unit. I'm praying it doesn't happen a fourth time to me.

Hopefully things go smooth for you.

Maybe this is what you are talking about?

In response to my Cloud dying, SM55 stated: "I'm happy to say that the opposite is actually true. We've begun working with distributors and really expanding business in 2013. You'll see alot of new products, websites, and of course, lot's of glass glass glass!."

Just curious....I have had my working cloud (1st was part of the early bad batch) since the beginning of May. I have to say that it took me a little while to warm up to the Cloud but now I am a total fanboy

My typical vape usage is 2 to 3 times a day with the Cloud being used once or twice. I have had absolutely zero problems with my Cloud...it is one of the older "ticking" style ones.

Where my curiosity lies is the usage patterns of those experiencing repeated failures. Are you guys using a WeMo or powering it off an on so that it stays hot the majority of the day? The auto shutoff seems to be there for a reason and I am wondering if the Cloud is designed for constant "power on" function over the long term. I want mine to last as long as possible and this thread has turned into a real bummer as of late. This cloud thread seems to be a cloud failure thread lately. So for those of you experiencing repeated failures, are you keeping your Cloud powered on constantly?

Keeping my fingers crossed as the function in unmatched.

PS---For any fence sitters with a glass collection, the Cloud Buddy fucking rocks!

No WeMo here. However, the Cloud is definitely my daily driver.

My normal usage was as follows with the unit. I had to turn my unit on and off twice before it would heat up everytime. Then around, 6:00am, I turn it on. Use it for a session. Turn off around 7:00am.

It doesn't get touched till I'm home at 4:30pm/5:00pm or so. Turn it on. Use it. It turns off automatically in an hour. Use it again around 7 / 8pm. It turns off automatically again. In no way did I have the unit running 24/7 or anything of the sort.

And I was on around 12 - 1 O'Clock on the dial.

Plus this unit, I had on October 23rd or around there or so, used it till December 5th, and then when I came back on my trip on the 16th, used it till the 22nd and it died.

chillin on the couch, sippin off a 22 ounce.
Been rockin' the 7/13 today (2nd hit of 3 total on ELB). Click on pic for vid):

In a full-size bong like this I get three hits max off a packed ELB. After the first hit the following two get exponentially worse... but that first monster hit of tasty blue vapor is to truly die for. Flavor and potency like no other delivery method for flowers.
I actually prefer arms to circs now. At least with the old school non-reinforced arms you've got what seems like instantaneous control over with the Cloud, while there's a lot more added drag/delay with the circs. I find it much easier to combust using a circ when trying to push the limits on temp.

I've had 4 Clouds that all were on for a good part of the day and none of them every saw any problems. I don't think keeping it on too long is an issue as i'm constantly overriding the timer. It seems like those that have problems are having "recurring" problems and on their 3rd cloud, etc. which leads me to believe there could be another issue like power surges,. etc.

Curious though, with newer clouds less than 2 months old, can anyone check their shutoff timer and see if it's an hour or longer? I love my 1hr27m timer, but really curious to see if this is the new norm.

My timer on the new-non clicking unit was 1 hour. Definitely not longer.

As for power surges, like I said in previous posts, I have it plugged into a Philips power strip that has lights indicating protection from surges and that it is protected via ground. Once it experiences a surge, that "Protection from Surge" light goes out. My lights are still on.

During storms, I unplug my unit. So I have not experienced any power surges to my knowledge. Also, I have other electronic equipment, etc. all plugged in and none have experienced problems, including my Extreme Q.

Just snapped myself up one of those nifty glass mouth pieces for the Cloud! I'm gonna pretend that I have a over sized Arizer Solo for a bit (with superior flavor and more dense vapor of course :ninja:) Merry Christmas to me!!!

VXL 2.0 Hydratube and Evolver 2.0 Hydratubes are seperate brands/glasblowers. The 2.0 stands for the Bent neck which is the new direction for all hydratubes. Hope this clears it up
