Congratulations guys!

Not that I ever had any illusions I was in this to win it myself, but I can't help feeling a little disappointed in your taste of movies after this one, mr. Steele

:p

Lol I got good taste in movies but Mickeys is pure nostalgia. Some of my favorite movies are: A Clockwork Orange, City of God, Fight Club, Apocolypse Now, American Beauty, Requiem for a Dream, Cool Hand Luke, The Graduate etc.

A matter of fact I know there's a music thread but if there isn't a "counter-culture" movie thread someone should start that :)

An odd tibit for sure, but one of my job duties back in the day was overseeing balance transfers into the Waterworld project at Universal. In other words, I saw how much money the studio sank into the project. It was astounding for the day, and I just assumed that it would be a smash hit (judging my the money pumping in).

I spent $7 to watch it in a theater and I still miss that 7 bucks to this day.

I'm afraid the general consensus is that we're the ones with the bad taste here Farmer

But I just love that movie, it shares it's place in my top ten with Braveheart (I do this a lot, it's the only way I can cram 18 movies in my top ten. I just can't choose mang  ). I think I've seen it 7 times already, and just talking about it has me thinking about adding an 8th time to that before the year is over.

I actually saw The Bodyguard as well as Titanic in the theater, now those were a waste of money. The things we do to get laid for love aye.

I am a little curious now though, what did you do for work back then, Stu?

I'd rather not disclose my CV to a pot forum, but lets just say I did banking for some movie studios back in the day. ;)

Waterworld?

You're right. STFU !!! :disgust:............;)

I saw that movie and all I could think of while I was watching it was how much I missed my rubber ducky when I was a kid.

See, now THAT'S some mother-fuckin' waterworld right there !!!!

Not all movies are for everyone... You have to be ready for something to appreciate it... :)

Like waitin' 6 or 7 hours without peeing until your back teeth are floating before sittin' down to watch Waterworld? That kinda ready? ;)

See..........now THIS is an example of how to derail a perfectly good thread. :brow:

I'm glad Frosty got at least one vote! I personally find Christmas movies have more sentimental value than entertainment value for most people. Unless it's a movie that blows everything out of the water.

Also congrats to lwien and hoops, although I think i'm a bit late to the party

Eh... I Like Waterworld. Watched it a few times.

It ain't no Zombieland though. Last count, I think I've seen it 36 times. Have the DVD and if its on TV, I'll watch it again.

Hehehehe, the more I read the more I am looking to watch some corny movies.

If anyone wants to see a horrible movie, please put on Troll 2. They even made a documentary about this one, I believe it's called The Worst Movie Ever.

The other week I was guilty of firing one up and throwing on Mortal Kombat :) We've all got our guilty pleasures lol.

How 'bout a bit of GREAT slap-stick horror movie............Evil Dead 2 !!! I never laughed so hard at a horror flick...............ever.

Did the movie maker intend for it to be funny, or was it so bad that it ended up being funny? I have no idea, but if you haven't seen it, get the DVD, vape yourself silly and watch it.

The Evil Dead series are Cult Classics. They've spawned all kinds of fandom, toys, comic books, etc.

And yeah, lwien... they either meant it to be tongue-in-cheek, or were stoned out of their minds.

Since you brought up horrible movies, watch Thankskilling or Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus. Both great horrible movies.

I'm a bit late but this is a great 16 minute comical Christmas horror. It's about Christmas trees, gets pretty sick so don't watch if you're too sensitive.
