One other tip i have been doing lately, is removing the whip and holding the wand like a cigar and the buddha like a lighter.

Just be carefull because of the waaay smaller vapor path, i only use slow inhales and low temp this way, to avoid hurting my throat.

Great taste though, definitly worth it and i don't find it anymore cumbersome than using the whip.

Try getting your hands on the LSV transfer wand, so its all glass. Vitolo has a picture somewhere doing that on his SSV

On my DBV, I was using 1 o'clock until my curiosu ass decided to see what the knob looks like pulled off, only to realize its not notched or anything so the setting can be anywhere, just eyeballed it and my new "sweet spot" is 12 o'clock, no higher

I usually turn it to 2-ish for a couple mins to warm up quicker, turn it down to 11, load in the wand, and then stir and slowly go up and session continues, and usually end a hair after 12

But man does this thing pack a damn hit. I thought my Solo was a beast until I got my DBV, only negative is I end up going through more wiht the DBV, but thats my fault not the vape

I have considered doing that as well, and buy a ssv hc to use with a mini wand. Perhaps that would be a good option for your DBV, to help you save material.

Mine is at a friends who might buy it after a not-so-good experience with the MFLB, if he decides he wants another one, i will definitly to that. It would be great to pair my dbv with my ehle.

vorrange,
So I am curious about the oil diffuser 7th Floor sells. Anyone on here use it? Will it heat up well enough at typical operating temps (11:00-2:00)? Work well with oils?

I had the oil diffusing dish from 7thFloor for my old SSV, it worked wonderfully well, releasing different aromas as I vaped. I prefer a peppermint or vanilla oil, but citrusy oils are nice as well. Can't remember what temp I dialed my SSV to, probably 12:00 though as that's my preferred vaping temp. They also sell scented wax melt aways that work nice in it. The glass is THICK and I got mine in Purple, my favorite color & matched my then current setup. I DID try and place the dish on my DBV when I got it, but it didn't fit well, actually was sitting on the glass heat cover, whereas on my SSV it sat right above with just a small bit of clearance space between the 2 glass parts. I thought the Glass touching each other could possibly start Burning the oils(producing smoke) instead of just diffusing them and releasing the aromas...

im pretty sure with the DBV when the oil diffusor is in use, you cant use the heater cover like normal, thus why the SSV was slanted over, so you can use both!

while you can have glass on glass between both vapes, the forward slant never made a difference to me, so one day when i was at 7th floor i asked, and that is how i got that bit of insight on the oil diffusors

Well that is a total deal-breaker if that's accurate. If I can't use it while vaping, it's not worth $20 to me.

Would this also work with a Da Buddah? My constantly churning mind is churning on positions the LSV wand could be used in, and in theory, the Da Buddah allowing for a perfectly vertical heat flow directed from the ceramic element compared to the angle the SSV has. The heat flow may not matter with the slight angle the SSV has when using the LSV wand...it's just my OCD pondering on the best "Accuracy/Efficiency" (Again, if the angle on the SSV matters with straight glass). I would also like to ask if you know if the Vapor Tamer can be attached in a straight glass line? I would imagine it can, since the tamer can be used with the LSV as well, but would of course like good input before I make dumb decisions if the tubing must be in place before Vapor reaches a tamer.

I want the best way to "cool vapor", either without ANY rubber tubing being heated in the vapor trail, or a way to channel all vapor to a vapor tamer "Before" the vapor approaches the rubber tubing, avoiding chemicals from being released when rubbers and plastics are even slightly heated. The heating coil on the S&B Plenty is not cool enough, nor is it without plastic lining in the cooling coil. I simply cant handle the taste when vaping from from rubber tubing, and I am serious to the chemicals they release without being pre-cooled, first. It is a serious irritant for me, no matter the "grade" of the tubing. I really dont know how a team of people havent figured out a way to cool the vapor before reaching the tubes. So many people say Whips are "Glass on Glass", and forget all of the rubber, but if a Volcano is brought up, people seem to talk bad about their plastic parts (needs to be deep discussion on heated rubber/whips).

This is my 1st post on FC. So...please forgive me for asking so much at once. It won't happen again :)

I use my DBV with its regular gong Heater Cover and the wand without the whip and i found great results. Not to hot for me, but i kept temps low as well as airflow.

About the plastic, it has been discussed ad nauseam already. The tubing has a slight smell IMO but the temperature it reaches has no effect on releasing fumes or something similar. Don't know about the Volcano but honestly, the problem with the Volcano is that you can get at least 3 or 4 vaporizers that do the same and everything else at half the price and the same quality. Many people here like the Volcano, to me it is a waste of money, and i don't even consider the plastic to come to that conclusion.

Regarding the LSV HC, i would say it would work even better with the DBV as well.. and if you buy a spherical gong and wpa you can use with water and no whip. Just need to spend an extra 50 or 60$.. not worth it, if you don't have a DBV yet IMO.

vorrange,
For anyone interested in painting their Buddha, I emailed 7th floor about it, and here's what they said:

Thank you for contacting 7th Floor. As long as you don't touch the wires inside the vaporizer or pour anything inside/on heating element, you won't void your warranty. And they can always be repaired for a small fee plus round trip shipping.

The vaporizer is made from anodized aluminum and, if black, could be baked with a powder coat. Depending on how extensive and what you want to use, you can try most anything from aerosol to acrylic. We have received all sorts of vaporizers with their own little touch to make it even more one of a kind. I couldn't even begin to tell you where to start as we wouldn't want to restrict you in any choices. You will have to make that decision. Have fun! Thanks for your support. Ride the Wave!!

Great customer service, by the way. Not only did they respond to my question, but they responded the same day.

Hello guys, long time lurker here and I figured it was time to join this very knowledgeable community.

I have done a lot of research both on FC, and other places on the internet, and I have built up my collection of vaporizers to suit my needs. For my portable, I have a black Wispr. I also own a digital Volcano that I purchased off of eBay for basically half price, and it was in mint condition.

I had always thought the Volcano was the "creme de la creme" and that it could get no better than "the Cano". Don't get me wrong, it's a fantastic machine that is built to last for years and years, but I wanted something different.

After much consideration, I decided to pick up Da Buddah, and I am sure glad that I did. I have always had a vape crush on this machine. It seemed very simply built, reliable, and actually looked pretty cool. I have the black version and I must say it looks like something out of a Buddhist garden, like some type of cool spa rock.

Anyways, I am still tweaking my temperature and I believe I have located the sweet spot. I have made a pencil mark so I know where to come back to the next time I vape.

Lately I have been falling into the trap of taking monster sized hits. The Buddha definitely hits harder than my Volcano or even my Wispr. I feel very satisfied for 2-3 hours, sometimes even as long as 4 hours. I consider the Volcano to be my breakfast vape. It's nice and light, very flavorful and I don't get too impaired too early on in the day.

I remember reading a couple pages back in this thread that people were using the Silver Surfer hose on Da Buddah because it was a narrower diameter, and you would get better production out of Da Buddha unit. It's definitely true, you get better "inhalation pressure" when you choke down the tubes diameter. I thought Da Buddah's hose was a little too wide for my liking when it first arrived. I fixed this issue, only I didn't have a SSV hose, I used a "Hot Box Vaporizer" hose.

I bought the hot box hose because it fits nicely on the top of my easy valve for infusing drinks and even doing some assisted tokes. The person I bought the whip off of accidentally sent me two whip setups in the mail. I re-purposed the one whip to work with my Da Buddha. Check it out:

The tubing on the right is the original Buddah hose that comes standard. I concocted a setup where I am using the smaller diameter tubing on the left with my Buddah. The glass wand, or herb chamber is still the same width as the original Buddah tubing on the right, but it gets choked down a size once you get to my "whip tubing". I have definitely noticed a very solid improvement in the performance of my Buddah. It's just easier to get a high quality, rich, flavorful, full bodied rip out of this wonderful unit now that I have made my adjustment. I encourage any other Buddah owner to look into it. Thanks again FC. I'll update you when I purchase my heady glycerin cooler, or "vapor tamer" to put the finishing touches on this lovely unit.

PS: I also have the aroma top, and it is wonderful. You can buy a really heady Yankee Candle and get 10x's the amount of use out of it than just burning it alone. The scent is definitely enhanced too, it's much more potent than using a candle in a traditional manner. I just widdle away a couple shavings into the aroma top and my room smells great in no time, for cheap too!

Nice innovation, and nice post too.
I will set the record straight on the DBV/SSV hose. This is a myth, a rumor. The hose is identical (ssv/dbv tubing).
The rumor started I believe when a customer of one of the vapor dealers ordered "DBV Tube" on the website and received a package marked SSV.
Panicked, he called the dealer, and got an ignorant receptionist who attempted to smooth things over by saying: "Oh we sent the SSV tubing because owners prefer it" (she also did not know 7th floor LLC tubing is all identical....)
YES- The hot box tube is smaller... and glad you got the effect you hoped for. Had you gotten SSV tubing you would not have seen any variation in diameter.

I got the pieces off of eBay. Just search for hot box vaporizer whip. I think you'll need the halfbaked goods version though. Supposedly their version of it has better glass, and mine happens to have those little rubber O rings that hold it all snugly together.

I can't lie though, I couldn't give you an exact recipe of how I made this. I was just using my new Buddah and honing my MacGuyver senses, and I just so happened to whip this thing up. With enough Buddahing I'm sure you could make the pieces fit together somehow.

Sounds like you had a few parts already around to cobble together. Being new to vaping, I just have the DBV right now. I was hoping to avoid spending $ on parts that end up not fitting together properly.

That is correct. I also have it choked down near the Buddah herb wand. My whip tubing is the narrowest diameter piece, the mouthpiece and the herb wand are standard wide Buddah sized.

Many people that are new to the Buddah simply need to learn how to inhale correctly. Watch Tokin rip this vape. The action starts at 1:00 into the clip.

He's not using any fancy tubing, mouthpieces or anything like that. He just knows how to hit this vape properly. It takes time, but don't be discouraged, you'll get it down pat eventually and you'll be very happy with this vaporizer.

The best word(s) to describe it is: Inhalation pressure. He's clearly puff puffin, getting this thing cherrying so to speak (standard "smokers" terminology)

First thing you need to know is: He is not using solely his cheeks to do this.

At first glance, you might try to merely imitate him, but it's not his cheeks that are getting this vape so milky, it's the diaphragm in his chest. You have to spiritually connect with your vape. Seal your lips around the tube and imagine what it would be like trying to suck a very thick milkshake up that tube, only use your lungs instead, and don't try to swallow (accidentally thinking you are going to get a taste of this delicious milkshake).

Imagine if your lungs were thirsty and wanted to drink that thick, heavy milkshake up that vapor hose;). Sounds silly, but try it.

Lastly, don't use one long winded inhalation. If you were trying to suck that milkshake up, you would need to use sharp snappy inhalations, just like Tokin in the video. It should not be one big inhale, it's a series of short, snappy inhalations. This will keep you from combusting your material, as well as help out your efficiency. A hit is wasted if you cough it right back up.

My setup basically just makes it easier for newbies to take proper rips. It's not a cure all by any means, but it helps, it gives you more margin for error.

Lemme know if you have any more questions. Hope I helped. Happy vaping.

One more tip.... when you are trying out all of these new breathing patterns, be extra cautious not to blow your material back into the Buddah unit. It's very easy to do on accident.

Great tips Ricchini, although i don't agree that a long slow draw does not work as well. I usually use the technique that Tokin is using to get the last tidbits of material in my Solo and WW.

With my DBV i use a long inhale and sometimes i alternate between breathing with your mouth and your nose, changing the pace of the draw.

I use a long fast draw and turn my da Buddha to the max. So I'm hitting it similar to token just not the puffing style that he is using. I prefer the longer draw because I like to hold in my vapor for quite some time to get the most out of it. Because I'm not in a med state so I need to get the most  Here is a vid explaining how I hit it. I really didn't know how to film back then so you really can't see the vapor coming out, but I was getting huge hits!

Hello everyone,

Quick question, have any of you tried hitting an extreme Q elbow in a dbv without the whip? I have been using mine with the wand and no whip and was thinking that an elbow would work better than the wand. It is smaller, the domes would allow a smaller bowl and the 90º angle would help reducing the amount of flying particles to your airways.

And using two dome screens would provide a diy ELB as well, i'm suposing.

If someone is willing to give it a try, i would love to hear your thoughts about it.
