Pila is a bit expensive, I like the xtar wp2 (jam has one too) it has fast and regular charge modes and you can use it as an emergency phone charger (it has a USB port that it can power from a battery without being plugged into the wall)

thanks joe. i remember looking at the xtar stuff a while ago and almost pulled the trigger on one. time to read some reviews it seems.
I bought one a few days ago. AltSmoke has them on sale here for $17.99.
The reviews I read were all good.

but i never got that one either. considering it again. sounds great and gets good reviews. it shows charge status while it charges.

With the kind of large batteries the cera takes, I think that sp2 is going to kick ass. Mainly because it has a 2 amp (2000ma) charge mode, that should charge the cera batteries from flat in under two hours!(about one and a half hours for a 3000mah battery)
The wp2 has a 1 amp maximum (1000ma) and charges will take twice as long as the 2 amp mod on the sp2. (about 3 hours for a 3000mah battery from dead flat)
I liked the i4 too, but then I found out the maximum current is only 0.75 amp (750ma) so it will take four hours to charge a flat 3000mah battery...

This discussion seems somehow familiar.
The Pila charger has maximum 600mA charge, so the charging times might be five hours or more with high capacity batteries.
That is why we got the:

We will include 2, 2250mAh IMR batteries when your order is ready to ship, and if that is unsatisfactory, we can exchange those 2 batteries for a single 2900mAh battery when they become available. Additionally, we would be happy to upgrade your order to include an Illuminated Latching Switch, however, that part is also delayed at this time. We will be shipping Ceras with the available switches on hand, and exchange the upgraded switches once they are in stock. Please let us know if you have any further questions. We appreciate your patience and support.

Hmm, I didn't order a switch, but does that mean the people who did will receive their Ceras then have to send them back for a period of time to have them replaced by TET?
Maybe a good time to get some engraving...? If that's around by that time. Make lemonade out of 2 dead birds... If you can follow that.
Damn, seems like they had quite a bit of issues getting these 1st orders out. Like things falling through, no pun intended.
Hope things continue to work out! I'd really like to see that confirmation email this week!

If I understand previous remarks from Thermovape, people will only have to send in the switch not the whole unit.
I could be wrong, and I have in the past, but that is my understanding. Nothing inside has to be changed for the lighted switch to be installed, so sending the whole unit instead of just the switch would only add to the shipping costs for everyone.
However if personalized engraving is what you desire they did say it was completely doable, and they have an outside source to make it happen at a reasonable price. It would be the same type of engraving that is on the bottom, LV marking for the previous line. You could make up some seriously awesome personalized logos or pictures to "pimp" your Cera out!

Wow this sucks I ordered a extra battery which I canceled because of the 2900 thing and I ordered a lighted switch so I just can't win the preorder date went right out the window parts and stock cera assembled? Really so now I have to wait for my light switches, 2250 batteries, sleeves, catastohic weather, what else could delay this whole preorder of the Cera.
Man this whole thing was exciting atone time now its becoming down right frustrating I know I ordered early like on nov 19,2012 so I know I'm one of the first 500 that would be preordered and shipped for this exclusive preorder of the Cera but I guess ill be last lol international order customs ect.
This is actually very depressing news about the switches it would be nice to be informed about this since I have actually ordered a lighted switch with my order. Wow

I got my alpha before xmas to tide me over til after the holiday maddness, but now im glad for once my patience won. Ill keep my eyes on,here for when all the stuffs worked out... But fyi, unless I see horrible reviews or something here, im curbing my glass budget til I get my cera saved for!

So what's the deal with the lit switch, why do I have to send it in? What the hell Im I paying for?
I don't see anywhere when ordering that I have to return old switch, thats stupid! So if I get a Cera now and 6 months from now want to get lit switch, TV is going to make me send in my unit to get new switch or even just sending the switch alone, Cera won't work without it! I wanted both types of switches that's why I ordered it anyway, and what would TV do with an old switch anyway? So IMO for $25 we should get to keep the old switch also!
And the batteries what is this BS? Order two @ $50 and we will send you 3 $10 batts? Why don't they just give us batts to use until they get their shit together and send out the 2900's! Sounds like a BS looks like BS must be BS!
