yeah, when you stop hitting the HT, the pressure from the water settling back down, will push a little bit of vapor back DOWN twords the ELB and eventually to the heater, just causing a little unnecessary resin build up and taste degradation.

when you have a stand for your HT it makes better habits, take a hit, separate the two, set the cloud down, and land the hydratube safely

I still think VXL should make a bubbler that allows the cloud to stand up right, and instead of lifting the actual glass, have a drain plug or a lever to lift the attachment up and off the cloud joint. I envision it looking like an oil rig but having the female joint where the oil disk is, and then a bubbler seperate. The drainpipe would work pretty well IMHO. The only problem would be the length of the actual rig that connects the cloud and the bubbler/bong, and that you can't really use the cloud picking it up, but I like having my cloud and glass on a table to hit.

If any of this makes sense please like this post, I can't tell if anyone else will understand this and I've read this over like 5 times.

the cloud buddy kind of offers this, but the cloud is more or less just hanging out upside down instead of rightside up, if thats something that bothers you... so you want a hydratube with a carb?

Should start sometime early next year. Yeah, the wait is terrible as their US market exploded and so much new glasswave to choose from. But still it's worth it to wait for all glitches to be sorted out. Too much warranty claims on EU units would kill VX's bussiness and make a lot of custumers pissed. Nobody wants that. Also I am glad that I'm waiting as all the new glassware is kickass. I would almost regret getting an early Cloud with early non-protective HT. I would hate to be scared of water getting down the bamboo everytime someone hits it. And with all the other improvements made, the EU version should be almost idiot-proof.

Yeah but in my case I have a clicker still going strong many months later. Not once has anything odd happened. My buddy has a new non clicker and he can turn it to MAX temp and vape without combusting. I've never taken mine over 3:00 because it is just so god damn dark at that point. I think I prefer the temp settings on mine. I can also enjoy very very light vapor at just about 9:00 on the dial as well. I feel like I must have a much nicer range of temps than he does but thats just my 2¢

I know what you mean, my old Cloud was one of the ticking units that ran hot. It heated up faster and got hotter overall than my non-ticking replacement unit. At 3:00 it got hotter than my current unit gets on MAX temp, and I loved how I could get thick opaque vapor in just 14 minutes.

That said, I kind of like how my new unit now produces opaque vapor on MAX temp instead of at around 1:30. Before, I hardly explored past 1:30 because I never needed to and because it made my ABV come out so dark it almost looked black. Now at MAX temp after waiting 20-25 minutes I can get opaque vapor and medium-dark brown ABV with no chance of combustion.

Here's a vid for y'all, sorry it's not Christmas themed! It's my new unit on MAX after heating about 20-25 minutes. I love using it with my Apix, it preserves a lot of flavor while still making the hits smooooth as hell. :)

Nice vapor skyline. I think my new one is one with a "conservative" dial as well. I was turning my unit up to the 3 oclock range before I started getting what I consider thick vapor.

I might have to try some of that rezblock.

Btw.... I also got my hydratube evolver 2 working with the Inhalater INH004. Wasn't very difficult and it's not the first glass piece I tried with the INH, but the Evolver is so low drag compared to my other glass that it really was a joy to use on the INH as well as the cloud.

It sucks that I won't be able to participate in this X-Mas contest.

In other news, they should receive my unit today if they are open. It's currently out for delivery. If not, hopefully Monday.

I can't wait to be back in the clouds.

How would one clean the outer material of the shell ? I made the mistake of putting on the sleeve and now I have this sticky goo all over and it won't come off.

It probably is best that VXL advise about a removal agent (Troi? SM?)

You could try 90%+ ISO or acetone on a small spot; determine if that melts the adhesive residue w/o affecting the Cloud finish.

when i peeled mine back off, if i wasnt carefull it would leave that sticky stuff like you were saying. it almost comes off in another layer, just let the unit get a little warm, not hot, and rub your fingers over it, it should just peel right off, mine looked like new

I've tried that and it seems not to effect the bamboo, though its really difficult removing the sticky gunk. I've tried cotton balls in iso and a regular cloth, neither one is really abrasive enough. I have eucalyptus oil which I heard works ....Just tried it on a small part w. cotton. It works better and dissolving through the sticky crap than the iso does.

I google-d how to remove sticky residue from bamboo and they suggested eucalyptus. Yeh - that seems to work allot easier.

uhm, im pretty sure that black sleeve is aluminum buddy... how did you get the sticker off? rip it off as fast as possible? try and find the edge of the sticky flim and try to peel it off like another layer...

pour some 99 iso on a rag and hold it over a spot and let the fumes break down the adhesive.

then again depending on if the aluminum is anodized or powder coated or painted, the iso has a chance of effecting the finish (possibly?) so be carefull.

i was able to get mine off with no chemicals, just heat....i mean thats how i get all the stupid emblems off my car too, not gonna chance my cars paint with chemicals.

Thanks -

When I took the sleeve off pretty much the whole entire adhesive was left on- I tried Iso but the stickyness was to thick to cut through. I randomly had some eucalyptus essential oil and this does a good job at eating through this gunk- Then I just wipe downward with a cloth to try to run this stuff off. Mine was really coated to begin with - The exterior is allot better now though there's still a faint sticky residue

The coating hasn't seem to of fade.

yeah im pretty sure its anodized, it dosent feel painted at all, take a lot to fade anodized stuff. i think when i put mine on, i didnt press very hard cause i wasnt sure if i was gonna leave it, and it ended up coming off quite painless despite a few spots.

once you get it all clean, pick yourself up some silicone wrist bands (those derp "livestrong" bands), around 4 or 5, and just put those on the unit where you grab it, works like a charm

Don't know if they still work, but I know these two:
SFNEWTECH - 50$ off as winning best invention celebration.
VXLOVESFC - 8 free ELBs for FC members.

I guess the coupon codes arent working anymore. I tried but no luck.

Some member already found out it's some quality painting, not anodized. With enough rubbing, you can get the paint off. If you like silver Cloud you can do it. :D Don't know how it would affect warranty...
