The G Pen by Grenco Science

mmenzie

My friends call me "Menz"
thanks OF i think i get that part. what i am not getting is if you watch the videos and read the reviews outside this forum (can you believe there are other places than here?? lol), the users that compare the G-Pen and and the 710 Pen say their biggest complaint with the G-Pen is the wick and that the 710 pen does not use a wick. so thats where i get confused as the pic above is the 710 pen and he is showing the "wick" so what are these users saying when they say the 710 pen biggest asset is the funnel system and no wick and the g-pens biggest flaw is the wick???

You're welcome. I'm with you. Sounds like a quest for talking points, a Ford vs Chevy thing? Short wicks are still wicks from a materials POV. There are true wickless designs, of course. Like Revolution/DART where the coil form is solid ceramic, or the 1701 (we're told) and one of the 'e-cig vapes' I tested a while back (Gentlemen's?).

P.S. if want your cart to last make sure the wick is always hydrated or it will burn out
(No test runs,dry runs etc.)

One of my micro g tanks lasted less than 24 hours becuase I put the oil above the wick ( on the outer top edge of the bowl) and I kept pressing the button, letting the heat from below melt the oil down to the wick and it burned out.

My buddy has a microG and when ive seen him pack it he just usually just places a dab directly on the heating element and I dont think hes had any problems. Im not sure how else you can pack it beside placing it directly over the heating element??? Also just saw that atmos thermo has a new waxy atomizer. It looks like it has an attachment which makes the heating chamber longer and prevents residue from building up on the inside of the mouthpiece. Would this be compatable with the micro G? I was thinking about getting it for the holidays...

I recently bought a G-Pen and I'm not too fond of the wick system. I'm considering trying a Omicron cartridge, but I'm also interested in the 710 Pen cartridge. I've read this thread and other sites and I'm seeing conflicting answers as to what threading the G-Pen uses, does anyone have a definitive answer if the threading is 601 or 510? I'm also wondering if I could use my G-Pen battery with a 710 Pen cartridge?

Thanks

I was thinking about getting that, but I've heard that it's flawed because it drips right through the coils to the bottom.

^it gets very hot after a extended session between a few people

And battery life seems shorter using it rather than the normal g tank

Hits good tho

I would agree with everything that you stated, even with the negatives I would still recommend it over the wick.

THe g pen with glass tank works well but there are superior options.

I think it is very cheesy because the glass is not made of borosilicate or any serious glass and can break really easy. They give you an extra glass cylinder but still, for 40 bucks it should be heavier duty.

Using the omicron cart(2.4ohm) on the g pen gives me bigger hoots that come easier than using it on the omicron.

has anyone tried to glass g tank w/ wick system. I just saw it at my LHS. The shop owner was telling how great it is. I'm not falling for that trick again.

I just signed up to figure out how I can use my new G pen that I broke three hours after i bought it. Not interested or qualified to entertain any advise on wether the purchase was right or wrong. I have a friend who has one. And everytime i see him he hands it to me and in public or anywhere we are in just a few secomds i am faded to just the right shade.
I never purchase parafinilia for a number of reasons. All my early years on a revolving. cycle of probation, then parole, so if i couldnt eat it on the spot i didnt posses it, and now that i broke that cycle and have a different life my wife likes to throw away anything 420 related. So i buy one .... I overdo it and get dab everywhere and when i pull the cap to reload dab glued the cap and i ripped the battery end off and 1 short black wire came out of solder joint. There is another black wire that runs all the way to the back end of battery and isnt connected just looks as if it rested on the black foam pad on end of battery. There is a short red wire at same end that looks to rest on black pad as well. The disconnected wire is like 1/2" long black and comes off the led circut board wich also has a whit wire that looks to be intact. I have tried to find diagrams of one with no luck. I know it cant be that hard to get this thing back on track.
Does anyone know if there is hope for me to get faded again ? Its one of those things that seem simple , but i spent
My whole x mas day trying to figure it out didnt even go to families house because this has just got me stuck!
Any input help or suggestions are thankfully welcome. G

mod note: Moved from incorrect thread

If you take some pictures maybe someone can help you match up the wires, but it sounds like it would be easier to just get a new one.

Does anybody know if the thermo waxy cartridges can be used with the microG? I know the cloud and MicroG are interchangeable but atmos said they are not compatible and I feel like they are lying or trying to get me to buy their battery. I just dont see how they wouldnt be compatible. Im interested in the microG after using my buddies but i wouldnt buy it unless I know i can get replacement tanks

I just got into these e cig converts to be able vaporize essential oil for cheap. Always been a big dart or omicron user. But find these more instant and trouble/leak free. I recieved a couple of those atmos thermo v2 w I guess the w stands for waxy atomizer or something. I also ordered a couple of micro g pens so when they come I'll let you know if they fit over. These things are pretty handy.. I've gone through a few grams of high grade wax through them no leaking, no spilling over. Very small and light in your hand or pocket. There is a wick inside but it only leads to the edges of the chamber so imo it's a lot different than the 710 wicks or gpen tanks. I liked the glass g tank nail for a min but thought better of it after one broke after a few uses and I took it apart. I'll post some pics if anyone is intrested. There a a few metal disks with alternating holes on top of the "nail" maybe 4 disks that the oil falls down into until it reaches the bottom which yes, there is a second heating unit coil on the very bottom. So anything dripped down will reach temp again at the bottom but just won't deliver the whoosh dab feeling after it melts of the top after first hit.
Which led me to find the atmos waxy atmoizer similar to the microg pen. Put a dab in and it will all turn to vapor, nothing drips out nothing is messy inside like the g pens lead to. I found some like 20 dollars cheaper than atmos website on amazon, a search will yield any color for a fine price.
Thinking about the waxy part (just a metal sleeve with a white silicone cap on the end) I'm quite sure but ordered some to check, I think the Divinci oil cans are the right size wide, but a little taller so you could fit more wax inside. Will report my findings. Cheers

I'm sorry I don't know the models you're asking about but I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss advice given you by Atmos (assuming they should know). For at least some of their products they use the same 'strange old threads' (m601) that D9 uses on Omicron carts. While close in size, the thread pitch is way different and the two don't screw together (you need a thread adapter).

That's how they would not be compatible?

Unless someone with one in their hand can give additional insight, I'd suggest taking Atmos at their word.....you never know, they might be telling it straight?

I. Need diagram or picture of battery and wherde the wires go. On one that is not broken

Atmos battery will run a D9 cart. If that's what your asking. It's at 3.6v so use the 1.5ohm carts if your experienced, 2.4 will give smaller hits. As usual, the better your concentrate quality the better the D9 carts work. You'll need an adapter for any dart/Rev cart though, but you already know that.

At least some Atmos products do (I have a RX, it has m601 threads, but believe some Atmos stuff doesn't?). It can be a mistake to assume all 3.6 Volt supplies are good for driving 1.5 Ohm loads, some are not.

It can get into a gray area pretty fast when you start trying to mix these guys up, best advice comes from a guy who's actually 'been there' with that exact configuration?

Agreed, I guess since I only have one of their batteries maybe I should have phrased my statment differently.
I used the atmos battery that came with Optimus carts. It works just fine with the 1.5 carts from D9. Is that what you mean?
As far as not all 3.6v supply's not being suitable, can you expand on that thought? Lets assume same thread pattern.
