Won't the 2250 mAh batteries have less power?

Actually, due to lower internal resistance I expect them to provide slightly more power but for a shorter time. I don't think that difference will be as much as 2900/2250 might indicate because I'd expect the IMR chemistry to perform closer to capacity at the higher current rates we're using. In other similar applications you find 600 mAh IMRs about on par with 900 mAh protected Li-ions. The high power demands change (or at least bend) a lot of the rules.

So it can handle a range of mAh's? Would it make sense to buy a battery with a high or low mAh in order to either extend battery life or increase vapor density?

edit:
The point of this post, really, is that I'm cheap, poor, and looking for an alternative battery source. I'd like the cheapest battery that works, and I'd like to know if that will result in a change in performance.

Hey everyone.

As you know by now, we've had a series of unfortunate events hit us one after the other.

That being said, our main priority is to get the Ceras out of our facility and into your hands ASAP.

To clear up any confusion, we will be sending out 2250 mAH IMR batteries in lieu of the 2900 mAH. As a token of our appreciation, you will also get one additional 2250 mAH IMR battery, free. The free battery will only be given to those had originally preordered their Cera with at least one 2900 mAH battery.

Given the unfortunate circumstances, I would like to thank everyone here on behalf of the ThermoVape Team for the support- we are excited to move past this and get the Ceras into your hands ASAP!

Well I was wondering I ordered 2 2900mah batteries so will I recieve 4 batteries then I'm a little confused maybe I should change my order then caus will have 4 batteries which in theory wouldn't be a bad things guessed always have power lol but ya will I get 4 cause I ordered 2 ? Isn't a mouth piece the same price? As 2 batteries maybe they'll replace the one I bought and the free one for a extra mouth piece instead I cloud use the extra myth piece for mods and attatchements.
I guess ill call them right know or maybe tomorrow, anyway since I preordered I get express expidited shipping as well but it will not help my Canadian border custom process I'm sure so I guess it's just a waiting game but I'm calling them for sure.
Cheers all, Merry Christmas

Thanks for the info Carlo. Would you be so kind as to answer a few questions about the new battery?

Is the new battery the hybrid IMR Panasonic battery? Does that mean that no protection circuitry is needed, as with non-hybrid IMR batteries? Is the battery going to be button top?

Best,

Sorta. Think of mAh as a volume, like gallons of gas in your tank. It is actually a measure of the total charge (number of electrons) available. You use that capacity at whatever rate you need to get the performance you want, like 'gallons per hour' consumption of your fuel in the car. Like the car dividing the volume (gallons) by the rate (gallons per hour) gives the run time (in hours). So "Mili Amp hours" divided by mili Amps gives the run time (notice how the "mili Amp" parts cancel out and you're left with hours?

So, all else being equal (which of course the never are...) higher mAh ratings give longer run times at the same power. In practical terms often the power part (internal resistance) is traded off for bigger MAh numbers (which is what sells....) so we loose a bit of power (it runs a little cooler) but for a longer time.

Bottom line is you'll be very hard pressed to tell the difference I think. Both are well tested, and that's what really matters in the end.

Mark, I think you're only getting three batteries. The extra is for people who ordered 'at least one battery,' so one free per pre-order for all except those that ordered no battery, not a free battery per each battery you ordered.

That's my read as well.

edit: changed my mind on the 3rd battery.

My guess is that a lot of people who ordered two batteries are gonna just keep the two 2500s and upgrade to a lighted switch or get an extra mouthpeice instead of getting a 3rd. I know that's what I'm gonna do.

I included two batterys into my shopping cart when i placed my preorder. could I possibly have two 2500s sent to me with the cera and then get a 2900 sent to me later once they become available?

Sounds reasonable, but you should contact them? I suspect it should be easy enough to cancel one battery now (and get two 2250s (note the correct capacity)). Then order a 2900 when/if they become available.....paying for the separate shipment. We don't know how long the delay will be of course.

I contacted TET and was told they will be sending you the amount of batteries in your order plus one free battery. So if you ordered 1 2900 then you'll receive 2 2250s. And at a later date, when the 2900s are available, you can swap the 2250s out for 2900s if you want to send them in.

Nah, I'm keeping all three. My past experience has taught me the more batteries the better :brow:

I have 2 orbtronic 3100mah, ordered one AW IMR and will now have the 2 that TET will be sending (I only ordered one TET battery) so that is a pretty good spectrum and will definitely be enough to keep going for a while I'm guessing.

Just getting caught up with all the posts. The wheels are turning, that's good to hear.
I found these batteries on ebay? 2 for $30.00

I'm set for batteries. Do to my overwhelming addiction to big battery mods and co-ops I have 24 panasonic cgrs and 30 imr batteries.
And yes I do have an addictive personality.

[see Vapzilla's post above if you want to see the specs he listed. They'll make more sense once you realize that every other line has wrapped, and needs to be a part of the previous line.]

They're fine electrically, but your specs don't indicate if it has a button top or a flat top. The Cera requires a button top. For $3.75 more, you can get the newest Panasonic, their 18650B, which has 300mAh more capacity (and a button top, when ordered from Orbtronic).

Standing stone faced like a statue.
Is that upgrade to expedited shipping true or just a romour?

EDIT: NVM I see in the email that it is indeed true! Thank you for the unexpected bonuses. With this I might even get it faster then I would have in the 1st place

In the e-mail from TET they said they were upgrading all pre-orders shipping to expedited which along with the extra battery is a great little thank you and sorry for the delay, and above and beyond if you ask me.

(wow how many times can you say and in one sentence) :-)

2 batteries 2250 instead of 1 2900...... it's okay for me ! ;)
And if you will send quickly for those who are like me, in the lands of "far far away" (more time delivery :(), it's double okay !!!!!

But don't say now 2 T1 instead 1 Cera !!!!!! :lol::rofl:

Isn't there a thread for all this waiting for the Cere?

Are there many that have opted for the titanium version? My question was answered earlier that the titanium version was lighter and more robust for moist use, neither are reasons to spend double IMO, however working with nails, skillets, and tools I know they're is a big difference in SS and titanium when the metals get hot, I can taste SS from a dabber and don't from a titanium dabber, and if you have ever tried a dab off of SS then you know you will not do that again.

GR,

smokum

I am who I am and your approval isn't needed!
I just hope the dimensional data is the same between the spec'd batteries and TET's substitute (not very worried about run times as I originally order two anyways), because the last thing I want is a primo medical device that RATTLES !
