Alright; well... I'm confused. Maybe the power grid in your neighborhood was going through a weak spell?

is it possible the batteries were just really drained, and it took a while for the charge to start to register?

I had a similar issue and even plugged in it started beeping and wouldn't stop. I had to send it in for a replacement...it wasn't the charger it was the solo. I have the same model. I have zero issues with the new one and still have the same charger I think. I don't remember if that was sent in as well. I would have to look back in this thread to see and I don't feel like it sorry. My guess is it was a month ago if you feel like looking.

I remember when it happened. My Solo is working again so I'll let it be for now. When my passthrough wire gets here there will be less stress on the battery for day to day usage, so hopefully this doesn't happen to me again.

Edit: Well crap, I let it charge to 4/7 and then unplugged it do a 12 minute session. Upon plugging it back in, it started doing the spastic blinking lights again. I tried letting it sit to charge before complaining again, but after 30 minutes there's no change in batter level.

Edit: No idea what is going on here, it's working again.

Is it beeping like mine did? Just from a lay person it sounds like a short somewhere in the unit. What do you think?

If there was a short; it would just stop working. Catastrophically.

So, I've figured out how to identify when the problem will occur, but not what to do to prevent it from happening.
Basically, every time I plug my wall charger in, if the red light has a slight flicker to it my device will go to Flash 1-3 mode once I plug it in. Sometimes the flickering is very slight, and there is no one plug in my house which works/doesn't work 100% of the time.
If I plug in my charger and there is a steady light, it will successfully charge my Solo until I unplug it from the wall.
Even if the charger is working 100%, if I unplug it and plug it back in, it is not guaranteed the charge will work again.

I'm going to try disconnecting the battery to see if that will reset it, and after that I'm going to swing by Walmart to buy a new charger.

I agree with the stop working with a short.... but a catastrophic event would be unlikely I would hope if they use a protected cell. A faulty circuit/firmware issue is most likely to blame.

Ok school this girl...when I have a short and move a wire a certain way it will work another way it won't. Isn't this the same thing?

Why don't you just send it back with the charger and get a new one? Why spend money and try to fix a new item when you can use your warranty?

If I can fix the problem by unscrewing 8 screws and replugging in a battery, I'd prefer to do that.

My friend had a problem with a m105 would turn on then the charge light was a steady red and then it would turn off.
when he tried to charge it would flash green/red and the 1234 would light and sort if pulse,

He got pissed and he slapped the solo on his hand while it was giving him the green/red light while charging and the charging light went to green. he unplugged and solo turned right on.
Happened twice.
Once when turned on in heating mode ,set to 6 he put solo down on wood table, not hard, and it turned off. and wouldnt turn on until he plugged charger in.

Yea I guess reseating the battery makes sense. So maybe not a short but not a good connection.

Because I can predict whether the charger will successfully charge solely by the flickering of the light, I'm thinking my problem is with the charger and not the unit itself. Anyone know if the charger is covered under warranty by itself?

It is cause that is what they thought was broken with mine so maybe I did send it as well  If you bought from PIU you won't have an issue either way I don't think.

Yaaay! My order which was shipped on 12/13/12 with 6-9 day shipping (in the holiday season, no less), arrived in my mailbox today. Super impressed with the quality of the glass stem, and the 14mm adapter and power adapter will be well used. Much love to PlanetVape!

My only complaint is the lack of Cool Ranch. :brow:

I was cleaning out one of my solo stems yesterday and the air filter holes just fell out, like they were sugar glass. I was able to take my dremel to it and make my own PVHES in the end, but I thought that was odd, considering they are fairly new. I also broke my straight stem. I swear, I am a klutz.

I seem to be having trouble extracting vapor using my new Turbo GonG 14mm. Even running at a 7 and preheating everything for plenty of time, I only get a few decent (not heat level 7 worthy) hits before it completely dies off. At first I suspected I was inhaling too hard, but even when adjusting to where my bong was percolating one bubble at a time, I couldn't get a satisfactory hit.

I believe mmienzie* was having similar issue a bit ago.

*(Sorry if I butcher that)

yes i am. question..... is your GonG loose in your solo where if you turned the solo upside down the GonG would fall out easily??

Mine work perfectly  and they are fairly loose

Mine are both tight.

I believe my stem is working well now, I think my two stock stems had an odd break-in period as well.

Perhaps the first few hits the walls have to get a coating of condensed thc, and then all future hits the thc flows free.

so my problem with my GonG continues.... i have stopped using it cause i am so unhappy with it. PV said i could send it back but with x-mas here and a family to buy stuff for.... i am not sure i can afford to ship it back. i am not sure how much international shipping is cause i have never done it before.

Have you guys tried doubling the screen in the turbo to add resistance, or packing your load tighter/finer grind? With the Turbo you have to adjust the airflow to find your sweet spot. I was putting 2 screens in and found it added a bit of restriction, making my hits thicker, but not so much restriction that it felt like a stock stem. Something to consider before just giving up.

mine is not the turbo PVHES GonG... mine is the 18mm PVHES GonG with 4 holes and mine came with a screen installed over the 4 holes

and as far as packing and grind consistency... i have packed it tight and i have packed it loose and no difference. i have used multiple grinders including the Storz and Bickel volcano grinder that PV recommended and that too made no difference. i have also tried adjusting my pull strengh from hard to barely making a bubble in the water and still the same issues
