Exactly my point. The structure is intact in full melts (you can see them at maybe 30X), SM and other solvent refined products still have some of that same material but it's structure is no longer intact.

OF
My point being that a full melt is bubble hash that fully melts but isn't clean burning.
A super melt is a bubble hash that fully melts but IS clean burning. Around me that is how all the bubble hash makers would describe it.

If it was made with solvents you wouldn't classify it as super melt, it would simply be hash oil.

AFAIK there is no clean burning bubble hash... can you get a pic?

The best I've seen is that light colored sandy stuff that melts and bubbles but it still leave a lot of stuff behind

Call it what you wish, but if it's screened bubble hash were did the trichome 'bodies' go? The screen sure didn't extract the stuff inside and trap the hulls....

Once again what matters is Full Melts differ from Super Melts in that the latter works in Omicron, the former doesn't. No matter how they were made.

My understanding and experience as well, JKA. Thanks.

Super Melt is BHO wax/budder 99.9% of the time here is Cali. It is indeed solvent extracted. I too have yet to see a bubble hash fully vaporize off a nail.

Real supermelt shouldn't involve any chemicals at all. Just really good technique with bubble bags, and probably the dankest of starting materials.

Well, it all involves chemicals. Water is a chemical (and water is toxic). Perhaps you meant chemical solvency? Ultimatley, the concentration process is concentrating the chemicals you do want from ones you don't.

Haven't had much luck with the herc at 6v with loose leaf. Still to hot. Patiently waiting for the iris.
Waiting for the fixes before I try oil. It's real scarce here and can't afford to lose any.
I'm sure g will get it right before long.

Hiya, I think u can read my successful experience by clicking on my profile. IMO u can't have yr meds touching the hi volt rod.
At least until the iris appears.

Loaded up my herc for the first time. Loaded .2 and didn't get dense vapor but I will keep trying. I did get some light smoke, My warm up time was about 10 sec before I began to slowly pull on it. I began to get a light vapor similar to that in a 2.4 cart but that was it. I let the herc cool down a bit then checked my tank and all my concentrate is gone. Examined the heater and it looks a bit stained now and just a tiny bit of oil at the bottom of the heater where it's sealed. So, I guess I did vape that .2 right away! I will continue trying but with a longer warm up time. Nonetheless that wispy vapor has gotten me medicated G

From my first experience it seems so me the herc is more of a load as you go device, or closer to the nail cart

Vaping is a way of life!
I have a buddy who owns a collective andd has tried this water extracted oil called FMCD full melt clear dome water hash oil, I myself have not seen or tried it yet(still excited for the necter concentrate) but I did a Google for clear dome hash and acquired these pics from THC farmer forum, and 420 magazine!
Pretty amazing if its really made from just freezing water and ice or maybe dry ice?
Iam on a mission to find out more info about this!

Ya I have heard of it and seen it but never had the pleasure of trying it myself full melt clear domes are the pinnacle of a fine bubble hash. You can check www.fullmeltbubble.com they got some good pictures. Apparently it's pretty hard to produce even with good genetics (from my understanding some strains will produce fmcd and some won't) and good product.

Fully Melted

It's OK to enjoy your medicine.
Juicyfruit thai FMCD is what I'm using as I type.

Dispensaries have fracked up most of our "common terms"... This has altered the meaning of many things "cannabis" leading to confusion and "renaming" of things cannabis related.

Bubble Hash aka Water hash and the lovely FMCD:
Not all strains will produce clear domes. It's very top quality bubble hash that hasn't been over processed. It has almost no solid plant matter in it. I only hand stir for 3 minutes before straining to try for FMCD. If mix with a blender, I will never get FMCD....only a full melt. Many medical patents will only use water hash as to avoid solvent processed hashes...and the nasty things that may be in them. Other water process hashes such as "Gumby Hash" and "Isolater" (ice-o-later) are also in the same category.

"Full Melt" means mean the hash "melts" completely, for example a chunk when heated melts down to a liquid slurry that contains a variable amount of plant matter. A "half melt" starts to melt down but the amount of plant matter in it prevents it from melting to a pool.
FMCD or "Full Melt, Clear Dome" is a description of bubble hash that melts to a clear liquid, with almost (or no) residual left after heating. It's the most pure of bubble hashes, almost no solid plant matter at all in it.

Half melt (charcoal hash) = Usually low grade, dirty bubble hash. Varies in quality greatly.
Full melt (FM) = Bubble hash that was made correctly, with some solid plant matter left in it. Varies in quality.
Full Melt, Clear Dome (FMCD) = Very pure bubble hash, super clean that melts to a clear liquid, with almost (or no) residual matter left after heating. It's the most pure of bubble hashes, almost no solid plant matter at all in it.
Not all strains can make FMCD. It's dependent to some extent on trichrome size and very technique dependent. FM hashes can be just as potent but not as "clean".

Petro Solvent Hashes - usually the strongest hashes:
"Supermelt" is a term coined by Cali Bay Area dispensaries to avoid the terminology for illegal to produce butane and other solvent hashes. BHO, PHO, Wax, shatters, crumble, honeycomb that are solid at room temperatures are also "supermelts" by definition but are usually named by texture, i.e. wax, budder, oil etc. A Supermelt is a solvent extracted hash and may contain elements of the solvent if not made correctly. "
Nectar" is an extract of just cannabis nugs, no leaf or trim.
The names of these preparations seems to change every couple of years.... so know what you are getting and what is in it.

The term "Supermelt" is almost never found outside the Bay Area. You do see terms used "creatively" to describe things that they are not. The cannabis industry is not a very trustworthy one and people will use the wrong terms to bring in patients. That's why "Supermelt" (nice sounding term) is used in Colorado to make patients think bubble hash is "special" or a solvent hash. It's just a deceptive practice.

Pressed hash - Strength varies:
The old standby, compacted kief

Keif - Strength varies: The trichromes of the plant, separated by a sifting screen. Some well made keif can be quite strong but the good stuff usually is kept by the grower.

I could go on but I have some ice, water and sugar trim in the mini washer. After all, I have to live up to my name. ;)

I'm still waiting for a working hammer to try out my bender, so I decided to try the herc out again with some SSH buddar I made the other night. Wow! The best taste and biggest clouds I've got out of the persei yet! My gf almost passed out cuz she got a huge hit that rivaled a dab off the TI. I do have to say it doesn't conserve the product but the flavor is amazing. I dig it.
On the downside it seems I too am suffering from oil seepage into the heater base. I have no holes other then the two air holes in the metal part. When I cleaned it out after my first good session I noticed oil bubbling out of the bottom when I dry fired it.

Ok so after an 8 hour iso soak, I tried to separate the stainless cart and it finally gave! Good news is, I don't think it was melted delrin, although there are lots of pieces left over that are hard and black. I then threw it on to boil. Once it boiled for 5 minutes or so, the oil began to come off and more of the pieces began to flake off. It definitely looks like a very large abundance of the wax built up in the base of the heater as well as all throughout the VSS. I'm guessing when it unit overheated, all the wax in the bottom started to bubble up through the VSS and completely coated the inside and eventually solidified. It looked as if that the vss had started to fray a bit and move up as the wax bubbled as previous to the boil strands were found solidified with the burnt wax in the top half of the cart.

Here are some pics as it sits now...

The hard black chunks in the container I used for the iso soak are solid and didn't seem to dissolve at all.

Is this clean enough to package up to ship yet, or am I going to have to bust out a wire brush and go crazy?

thats what i was trying unsuccessfully to say yesterday. i almost broke the top off like you did; i noticed that i needed to hold onto the plastic ring while turning the mouth piece, otherwise i would have the same issue. i could see where the mouthpiece ended and the broken plastic began in your pics i have lots of oil seepage in my hercs as well fyi, but its easy to reclaim.

to the guys trying to get folks all stirred up, talking law suits etc, please cut it out. its not helping anyone or anything and since no one here knows any more than anyone else, going off half cocked is really kinda pointless, isn't it?

Great news, and it's starting to make more sense now. I still think the important part is the threaded ring, the lower part in the photo above. Does stuff chip off leaving the complete original part?

That should impact the decision to use Teflon of Delrin for the new parts.

Thanks for the update.

A photo is just that, a photo. It is not the same thing as having it sitting in front of me to examine.
It does still appear as though the delrin melted, and the flakes in that cup do look more like delrin than burnt oil. Again this is just how it seems by looking at those photos.

Maybe you could weigh the mouthpiece and top ring in question and compare them to your backup one?

This just has me very curious, and like everyone else, trying to solve this question.

Nothing clever to say......
The Iris, The Herc, the Bender, the new carts, etc.. It almost seems like to many ideas at once, with out any ONE being fully perfected.

Other than the originals, (Persei, Omicron. and thier carts) can anyone with experience vaping oils other ways (vape, nail, valcano pad, bed of ashes, etc...) and ,whom has owned these products say that these are the way to go for ease of use or travel?

I guess until my Cera shows up I am still looking for the best EO vape, and of course if it fails (Cera that is) I will still be looking.
From what I see on the forums, hear at the patient meetings, and from friends who are rec users, I have not heard one glowing review, not even the "it works great if you do (xyz)" .

So that's what I would like, if its out there, an experienced vape user who knows his/her concentrates, and can in good faith recommend any of these newer products as a "keeper" and of course "why?" .

Sorry "G" but I don't want to hear from a company man. No insult, just want an experienced outsider. I assume you understand.

I own nails, skillets, healthstones, thermovapes, hammers, benders, herc, an endless supply of glass. But my persei is still always with me. IMO D9 products are great. But to each his own.

EDIt: almost forgot about all the Vapes I have had. Too many to name.

I like the Persei, not love but it has a place in my line up. I was mainly speaking of the newer attachments.
But thanks for replying.

I think the best we can tell ourselves is people are working on it. I am also looking for that device that will give me oil hits that are close to nail or skillet dabs, something I can change to different strains easily and not have to load a 1/2g at a time to only get a few flavorful hits. The Omni carts are good for stealth on the go use and I use them all the time but at 2.7ohm i have to use it 24/7, at 1.5ohm I need an hour long sessions and multiple carts to keep from overheating, at 7.4v and 5ohm I can get medicated in under 15min but flavor is only so so on a fresh cart and just run of the mill after that. I don't have some of the finest oils made from all bud to want it to taste like some leaf run BHO.

I would be fine if my lungs could handle dabbing, but they just can't. A portable or plug in vape that will allow temp control to do oil dabs is all I am looking for and I know it will come, I am counting on you G.
