Call and ask them for this. they will know what it is.

Just bought a DBV about a week ago and it doesn't have that clip pictured above. Its basically just the shims that hold the heater cover in place.

My heater cover is very snug though. I wanted to move the element down a hair as it was very close to the glass and I had to finesse it a little bit to get it out/in.

If its that loose and you're transporting the DBV, just pull it off and store with the wand so it doesn't break

That clip is probably only on the SSV, but if you can make it work on the your DBV it might make it tighter

That clip is actually only on DBVs.
(the image I showed was of my DBV)
Some people with Hands free HC on an SSV do use this as a modification, however..
All new DBVs are supposed to come with this clip in place.
(There are sellers with older DBVs in stock I am sure that do not have the clips, but the clips have been in place for a time now~)

Does anyone have suggestions for a nice bong to pair with DBV? I'd like to keep it under $150. I was thinking about a basic EHLE. straight tube with ice notches? What size would be best? Also, if anyone could point me in the direction of a legit online retailer, I'd appreciate it!

Where you at? If you are from EU, i suggest www.head-nature.com to get an Ehle. As suggested by another member at FC (thank you OTA ;) ), i got a 250ml Ehle with a diffused downstem and it works great. In fact, it fell on me yesterday from my desk and it is as good as new which speaks a lot of the quality of glass.

If you're in the US, i wouldn't get an Ehle, it is not worth it IMO due to the quality of the glassbowers and the size of the market. A simple piece like a straight tube with 5mm glass thickness will be pretty cheap. Try SSFG blowers for example.

The DBV was my first vape and I have a lot of love for it. As of late it has not been getting any use, mainly because I have everything all nice and clean and I don't want to get it dirty. It's kinda on display in what I like to call my "Vaporization Station". I think I may fire it up today for old times sake. I'm sure it won't let me down and it should be a nice change of pace. Looking forward to getting reacquainted with a dear old friend...
Your Avatar has some Sick Wood...Ha. But No Seriously. Those are 2 BeAuTiFuL UD's...

Edit: My DBV and a Head Cold have got me couch-locked for the day

i have been considering another portable vape to get but now im thinking i need a decent desktop instead... my mflb + PA is nice but i want a little more some times... i was wondering how if at all the mflb+pa compares to this... because i am content at the moment but i would like a diff type of vape also... i found one near by for a good price also... how much worth it is it to get thicker hits id like to know opinions on that... because it seems like those nice cloudy hits r more wasteful... r they worth it though??

Buildozer,
I just bought a Da Buddha from a marketplace seller through Buy.com. Here's the link: http://www.buy.com/prod/da-buddha-v...g-included/231377115.html?listingId=218462623

I wanted to order some screens through Da Buddha's website, along with a pipe adapter and some black tubing, but I'm not sure if this will be the new style ground glass wand or the old style ground glass wand. Is there any way to tell without actually having it in my hands? I really wanted to order the accessories tonight but hate to have to double pay shipping.

*WARNING*:uhoh:

The following is written by a vaporizer newcomer, so take it FWIW.

I've had the Da Buddha for about two weeks now and, although I don't have anything new to add (sorry!), i will say that the Da Buddha has yet another satisfied customer for the following reasons:

In short, I am finding it to be solid, reliable, quick to warm up and have good temperature control. I don't know that I'd regularly use it all day because it's not the best with conservation - but it's not bad either! Packing it 1/4 full, and being of low tolerance, I've been finding it lasting for a good long while as long if I stir. It doesn't last as long as with my Underdog but it sure as heck lasts longer than combustion, I tell you what! I generally use an Underdog vaporizer hooked to a Silika Mini Bubbler, the Clear Hammer, during the day (for all you rookies on a budget who have sensitive throats or who just find water filtration to be "healthier," I'll just say I have found this setup to be very effective, medically and conservation-wise, and easy to keep inconspicuous) and use the ABV in the Da Buddha at a higher temp with a little kief from the ol' pollen box (if you don't have one of these then get one because you'll be surprised at how many crystals you lose every time you handle your herb!) and that will get me through the night, which really saves on medicine if you're short on funds or if herb is hard to come by in your state. I'm not sure what I'll use the post-DBV ABV for yet... However, I also find using the DBV all day to be quite pleasant too, and if you don't need to be obsessivly conservative with your herb, you could use it all day regularly and be fine.

The 10 foot cord is nice too because I can carry it out to the porch, medicate, release the vapor all outside, then go back in. No vapor smell in the house, other than on me a little. And the screens are really easy to change too. Honestly, I don't have any complaints whatsoever at this point.

I have not had any problems with spilling herb or with the wand falling out or anything like that. As long as you're the slightest bit functional at the time, nothing like that should happen with this vape, IMO. Of course, that doesn't keep me from having a thick towel under the wand when it's in.

I was fortunate enough to get one of the red ones merely because silver was out of stock, and it is "frickin' awesome!" The black and silver are nice, but the red one really pops. Frankly, it's pretty darn sexy in a simplistic way. A chick magnet, really. Definitely one you'll want to show off. There's a pic of it just further up the page...

At any rate, if you can get a silver one for less than $200, I'd say it's really worth it, especially with the cool bag it comes with which I've already used to bring it to a friend's. I've been using it with an Aqua Vape and that's worked out pretty well if you're trying to be a little more subtle - the standard size Aqua Vape is pretty tiny, FWIW - or if you want a glass piece that fits nicely into the bag that you can cart around. The Aqua Vape might be a bit overpriced, but if you can get it on sale it can also be pretty handy, although kind of a pain to clean.

All in all, I think the Da Buddha is a really safe purchase that will really last and won't disappoint. It just seems like a great starter vape - not too flashy, just nice and reliable and well-built. No, it's not the best vape out there, perhaps, but it's really nice at a decent price. If you're leaning toward it, I'd say go for it if you're looking for a whip vape that's not forced - or get the SSV if you can afford it and want the spherical glass. I wanted the ground glass because I have friends using it and I like being able to have the wand held steady so only the mouthpiece has to be moved around. But if it's just for yourself, I'd say get the SSV.

But I'm very glad I got the DBV. Fits my needs perfectly, and although I still want other vapes (I'm looking at YOU, Cloud! :spliff:) , I'm glad I'm going to have this one around!

If you're going for the cheap route, a pre-cooler/ash catcher($40-$50) attached to a J-hook($10-15) is by far the best road to travel. IMO. just because there are plenty of pre-coolers out there with just as much diffusion as most $150-$500 pieces. This is just my :2c:. Here's a vid of my current setup, DBV with a Krave Shower-head pre-cooler attached to a WeedStar Inline Pre-cooler attached to a J-hook. Milks Super Nicely and has nice Bubbly action:

^^^ That's a pretty saweeeeet setup there VapeNStone. Carbon filter to shower dome to Saturn mouthpiece?? If that is a carbon filter, school me some on the purpose & use of it with a DBV... Thanks in advance!

The fast heat up time of the DBV goes by even quicker when already medicated...

No that is just an old diffused downstem that broke so I used it to connect the ashcatcher or whatever that is(basically a mini HT(hydatube)). Then I used the mouthpiece from my glycerin tube I got from 7th floor.

Well, good news and frustrating news over in the Dude's abode. I got my Buddha in today, just in time to enjoy it on Christmas - that's the good news. The frustrating news is that I accidentally bought a silver one when I thought I was buying a black one. The pic looked black, but the description clearly says silver. I obviously was not paying very close attention when I bought it. Oh well.

My wife is really good with paints and artsy craftsy kind of stuff, so I am seriously thinking of having her use it as a pallet and creating something unique for me. Anybody ever tried to paint or otherwise aesthetically alter their Buddha?

Also, and I know this has been discussed to death, but what is a good starting point on the dial to start getting a feel for my new Buddha

1-2 pm for the first tries... and you will know what to do from there.
personally, I like to start lower, at 10 or 11 and work up, but everyone has their own preferences. You might want to check out 7th floor. I believe they might have some details about how they went to black on some of their DBVs.

Same here. All the way up to cook off initial residue, then turn down to about 11pm and see what vapors you get. I only go PAST 12o'clock when vaping oil in my DBV. 12 o'clock is my normal knob position for good vapor production and results...

I really like that miniHT looking part. Is there a name on it? Remember where you purchased from perhaps??

Sorry, didn't mean to double post, merged into 1 post, but couldn't delete the second one...erased everything in message body and tried to save changes but got an *error message saying I needed something in the field. So here it is, an apology, and hope that someone can tell me how to merge 2 posts to 1 and delete unneeded post. Maybe only mods can do this??

One other tip i have been doing lately, is removing the whip and holding the wand like a cigar and the buddha like a lighter.

Just be carefull because of the waaay smaller vapor path, i only use slow inhales and low temp this way, to avoid hurting my throat.

Great taste though, definitly worth it and i don't find it anymore cumbersome than using the whip.

Don't know what it's called. Just a showerhead type perc on it. Got it at a local headshop here in town.
