Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud

Something else for owners of older clicking units to consider is that VXL actually made their new non-clicking units run cooler than their previous units (they told me this). If you had an older unit and you end up replacing it, your new unit may seem to run cold too (especially if your old temperature sensor was accurate while your new one goes green too quickly.)

thanks... looks like things are running again :)

I'm having analysis paralysis on the HydraTubes.... a few pages back I saw a post comparing 2 tubes, but now one of the tubes no longer exists on the VX site (the shower one?) and they have like 50 new tubes.... yikes.

Does it really matter whcih tube? The post I saw siad the Shower one (showercap? I forget) had better taste.
I'm not sure where you saw 50 new tubes. I just see the same 9 HT options as before. Here is the Swagger showercap. https://vapexhale.com/index.php/store/browse/cloud-hydratubes/swagger-showercap-detail

The other day I was in a really nice shop called Funky Monkey in Pacific Beach, San Diego. It's like an enchanted forest of name-brand glass pipes. They had pretty much every lust-worthy scientific tube you can think of.
The shop owner, in the middle of a sale with me and without acknowledging me at all, took a phone call to price-quote a Volcano for someone. Afterwards, I asked if a lot of people still buy Volcanoes, because I think there are a lot of better vapes now for the same or much less money. He claimed the Volcano is still the best vaporizer on the market. I asked him if he had heard of the Cloud. He said yes, that he had even tried it, but it wasn't very good. He said VXL asked him to sell them in his shop but he declined. Can this be true? I had thought VXL wasn't looking for distributors yet. The whole encounter was very puzzling to me.

sorry was exagerating a bit.

I was actually looking for the ShowerDome. That version only shows up in the store page, not the regular products page.

I guess I am confused about WHY there are so many confusing, similarly named options?

Do these things actually have enough difference to justify so many products? As a potential consumer an over abundance of (seemingly to me) meaningless choices turns me off more than anything about this so far.

The showerdome is the least expensive combo, so I think that is a good place to start for someone who hasn't been able to try out different models.

Yeah, it can be confusing for sure. But once you get it in your hands, you will likely realize that you made a good choice - whatever package you choose. You really can't go wrong with any of the options IMO.

One of the greatest things about this tool for me is using it on different pieces. I get the most intense dense hits out of my big old un-perc'd generic tube. But I also enjoy the bubbly rapid fire action of the evolver tree.

I emailed Vapexhale support about my order before I left for work this morning. Got a call from them after lunch. Brian explained there was an inventory problem and offered me some options. An hour after the call, I received a tracking number. Haven't tried a Cloud yet, but their support gets an A+.

For many they certainly do. The different types of Hydratube percs are just carried over from waterpipe selections. They're certainly not going to jump into so many options unless there's already a proven market for them.

As a potential consumer an over abundance of (seemingly to me) meaningless choices turns me off more than anything about this so far
As a consumer who is turned off by lots of options, I'm afraid you're in a very small minority. In fact you're likely the only one who's ever made that complaint in this thread.

Well, you have to go to the store section in order to buy anything anyway. ;)

I think you'll give the same grade to the Cloud. :2c:

not sure about your second question but for the store owner to say the cloud is no good is ludacris.
the cloud outperforms any other unit i have tried by a mile. the vapor is warm, thick, cloudy, strong hard hits.

I will agree that the volcano is a great solid unit and works flawlessly for what it is but after using the cloud, the volcano falls short, matter of fact all other vaporizers fall shirt compared to this beast. depending on the strain and temp i can get clouds that are almost as equal as regular combustion, thats simply insane
unless there is some quality issue he was worried about that is one thing but the issues dont seem to be a huge issue so not sure what that store owner was smoking but the cloud vaporizer right now out of all the ones i have used is by far the best thing available. The amount of visible vapor is like nothing i have ever used and the hits are powerful and full and it works so well with so little , if there is a better system i would like to know what it is cause i cant find it. End of story.

some tips for yall, after packing your elb( i do 50 to 75%) and the unit is hot which you can tell by holding it, i insert the elb and let it roast for a 45 seconds to a minute before taking a blast. it was a suggestion i read about the volcano that worked well and it works well with the cloud too

The shop owner .......... claimed the Volcano is still the best vaporizer on the market.
You'll hear that from a ton of headshop owners. A lot of 'em aren't exactly up to speed on the vape market and all of 'em make a good profit on those Storz and Bickel models. The 'cano is arguably the best bag filler, but that's as far as you could go, as far as performance.

I asked him if he had heard of the Cloud. He said yes, that he had even tried it, but it wasn't very good. He said VXL asked him to sell them in his shop but he declined. Can this be true? I had thought VXL wasn't looking for distributors yet.
They're not. They keep running out of inventory. No reason to cut profits and complicate your operation if you can't keep units in stock. Your headshop guy is not being truthful. He certainly hasn't been approached at this point.

The whole encounter was very puzzling to me.
Simple case of a dishonest seller pushing what he sells and trashing what he doesn't sell. Luckily you know of a better source of info for vapes. Stick to FC for the best info on what to buy and what to avoid. ;) For everyone in the San Diego area, avoid the Funky Monkey.

Thank you for your interest in our product.

We have a pretty comprehensive section on our website that I think you missed https://www.vapexhale.com/index.php/products/hydratubes it covers all of the hydra tubes with detailed description's along with pictures. This should help you understand the differences and guide you in your choice.

VX showerdome and Swagger double are missing there.

Also, I've been thinking about the Cloud stability and I've made a sketch of detachable Cloud base accessory (EQ-like). If anything like this existed I would definitely get it. The baseless Cloud is "compact" for upside down use and travelling, but it makes it not as stable as I would like to for home stationary use. So there should be attachable base for home use, that you would take off if you wanted to travel or hit upside down.

Here is the sketch:

What do you think? Is this possible? Cloud's curved "legs" made desing of this difficult, but I think this would probably work ok without scraping Cloud's paint off.

Any ideas to make it tightly detachable without a screw? That would be the very best.

Or another idea: Newer Cloud units could have screw holes on bottom of their feet to make assembly of this possible without that friction-based contraption. Just to easily screw it on, screw it off. Well, that requires a screwdriver and ugly new holes of Cloud's legs. So not the best idea.

...screwless is the way to go, but how? That would require no screwdriver and possibly no damage to paint. Something like you would push/pull something to unsecure these leg holes. Without user force there it would be secured.

Another issue is the CloudSleeve, which make feet thicker, that also should be resolved somehow.

The feet of the Cloud could have "nubs" on them that could secure them to the base with some sort of locking mechanism that could be released by holding down a button. I have no idea how it'd be implemented but it'd be a sweet system!

As Seek noted, the Swagger Double and VapeXhale Showerdome are missing from the Hydratube page, under Products.

Also really like the idea for an optional Cloud base. The large size power cord, while excellent for reliability, sometimes interferes with stability, and a wide base would greatly help with keeping the unit upright when accidentally bumped.

I don't know what you means by 50's look. It's just vector roughly hand-drawn in flash without much CADing. Also I've noticed that if you zoom a transparent image it doubles (as the original remains there). And it looks weird that way. The old image should be shown behind the zoomed one.

I see, well, the shape could be anything. Just imo should be round like EQ, that makes it prone to tip over by pushing down on the edge and even less compact.

crap, I just got serious combustion at 11 oclock, it's still smoldering as I type this... I decided to grab my camera and capture the moment... I hope this isn't the beginning of the end of my precious ticker... ELB was clean and fresh, about 1/3 med grind loaded inside. Usual stuff I've been doing all along. I noticed last night that the red light was coming on and blinking more often than the green, it was only going green for a second or two then back to red (wasn't the time out, it was clicking and heating while the light stayed red, then flashed green every few seconds). Today it's staying green again, so I don't know what that was all about. This really took me by surprise for sure, at such a low temp. Should I open a ticket for this, or just take my chances and keep using it?

** I've cleaned all my glass, and loaded another ELB, and hit it at 11 again, and it tastes like I've got it set to 3 o'clock, very hot vapor. Even at the 9 o'clock setting the vapor tastes hot. This isn't looking so good, I'm afraid. Sorry to be bringing bad news to the thread y'all. I guess I will go open a ticket.
