My occupation? Well, you could consider it as Normal IT Work... along with side businesses in Information Security, Hardware Prototyping, and Software Engineering

I went to a small community college and somehow seem to know more than most of the University trained interns I've worked with in the past. Funny how that works, eh?

That has been my experience as well, but each place is different.

Occupation - Giving birth to my beautiful babies (water pipes). I may grab a sales gig soon so I can keep more money in the business instead of spending it on student loans. I have done electronic and information sales in the past.

Education:

AS - Chemical Dependency
BA - Clinical/Counseling Psychology
MA - Industrial Organizational Psychology

I learned more in these past 6 months of starting a business than in 2 years of grad school. Self education FTW.

Sounds like you are well suited to help arbitrate with the businesses in the states of Colorado and Washington regarding how they should amend their work policies around the recent changes in law.

I think they should treat it how alcohol is treated. You can drink/smoke/vape off of company time but if you come intoxicated, there are consequences. These could be addressed by individual company policy.

If drug testing is done they should skip over THC as it is legal there.

There probably will be exceptions like if one is required to hold a CDL license, etc.

Occupation: Former partner in a collective, now working in IT. I hate working for a corporation slightly less than I hate not being able to sleep at night due to plants and associated anxiety. I dabble with the torch whenever I have an opportunity to and am much more likely to build out a lamp studio than pop up a hydrohut in the future.

Education: Diagnosis with a congenital organ defect in the first grade resulted in frequent hospitalizations and made attending a magnet school for genius kids an impossibility for more than kindergarten. That theme of "owell it was a nice thought" continued until I was so depressed in high school that I never took the SATs or applied to colleges. I graduated with a 3.8 that was earned by sleeping and took some community college courses that never amounted to anything.

Hindsight is 20/20 but I sincerely wish I had not made so many life choices with the assumption that I would be dead by age 30. STAY IN SCHOOL

I went through an IT prep program my last 2 years of HS and started working in corporate IT for a large garage door manufacturer about a year after I graduated. Worked there for almost 5 years and was completely miserable.

Now I make more money and work much closer to home but I am still completely miserable. :-/

Would love to go intern at a radio station or production studio as that is where my heart is but I am the primary breadwinner and have a young child so that's basically a pipe dream.

Sigh...C'est la vie.
