I don't understand how they are melting. My mouthpiece doesn't even get warm. There is no need to hold the button for more than 30 secs IMO

I have to hold the button for close to a minute or more in order for me to get the hit I want and my mouthpiece doesn't get warm either.

kindbeats,
Anyone having success vaping flowers in the 7.4 v hercules? I've been messing around with grinding and packing. Trying to figure out the best method. It's easy to combust especially with a full battery. Anyone try a pipe screen or glass screen between the herb and the element? I think that's what I might try next.

We must have different variables. @ 30 secs I see vapor flowing from the mouthpiece.

I am using a pretty solid wax too

I have the same issue, regarding needing more than 30s to get proper vapor. In my case, it seems my material is too thin, or requires too much heat to vape, because basically once liquified it runs right through the tank and pools up on the top of the heater.

For example, i can load the cartidge and warm it with a lighter to the point that the tank is obviously saturated with oil, looking from the top or the bottom. Take one large hit and then disasemble hercules, the tank will be empty and the top of the heater will have a large pool. Trying to smoke the pooled up oil from below the heater requires significant, constant heat, but it does provide vapor.

tl;dr; some oils go right through the tank and pool up on the heater. Getting the oil pooled up on the heater below the ceramic rod to vape requires stupid amounts of heat.

I think mine does the same thing, but my oil Vapes nicely on the heater. I may just have the perfect concentrate.

Lol. Idk. My wax come out the bottom of the capsule and Vapes off the bottom heater. Seems like other people can't achieve this with their oils.

Mine is just some homemade

I usually use wax and fill a tank with no more than 0.1g. I hold the button down until I hear a slight sizzle and then start pulling until I can't anymore. My goal is to achieve one massive dab sized hit per tank and it definitely works for me.

slide can i ask you a question, did you run the mouth piece directly with the hercules heater and top section without the outer sleeve?

Because i pulled out 20 hercules ran then 3 minutes straight each and no melting. Im trying to figure out how where you able to achieve this.

The reason mine melted is because the tank lid was touching the mouthpiece. And I hold the button no longer than 1 minute...

G you have to inhale or hook them up to a pump to fully test these things. When people inhale they are drawing the heated air through the metal screen embedded in the plastic top. If you just turn them on without drawing the heat through the plastic the top won't get anywhere near as hot. Think of a heat gun, without the fan nothing in front of it would get hot at all...

No, other than the VSS and no lid on the tank, nothing was different from an oem Hercules.

Was on a full charge with the AW IMR's and from what I remember, it was a 30 second warmup, then two really slow, very large tokes which I would guess were around 1 min or maybe a little more. I have a very large set of lungs.

The only thing I forgot to mention was I had to warm it up for 20-30 seconds so I could get the mouth piece off to load since it always adheres to the top ring and pulls the whole cart out from the top.

Hi OF:

Your recommending a 1600mah verses a 2000mah.
I don't mind the $5.00 if the 2000 is better than the 1600.

Is there that much difference?

AW IMRs are supreme. seriously run that battery a straight month with no recharge. and it has retains its high capacity for a while while keeping high discharge (lower internal resistance makes a huge difference! literally huge difference). Love high capacity with low internal resistance. Personally on the 2000mah. That capacity makes a difference. But itll be a shorter charge up time on the 1600mah.... when you have to charge them, which wont be often.

Yes, or I'd probably recommend that one instead. Under load, the 1600 has the advantage where it counts.

This may be the case for you but I think most people would get a couple days out of a fresh recharge.
At least that's the case for me anyways.

so... I was asked to be honest, and give my opinion on the 3.7v herc as an herb vape... I'll say this, it does work as a vape, but purists or vape"snobs" might not enjoy it as much because the one I am using has a fine line between vaping and combusting. I did not get full on combustion, no cherry, but it did scorch the herb enough to give it that dirty pipe taste/smell. That will be the biggest turn off IMO, considering I have not been pulling huge clouds with it either. I have tried giving this one a fair shake, and do believe it will make some people who are less picky about flavor as I am pretty happy, but it has the same problem I found with the AR which was enough combustion to ruin the flavor, after a while it scorches where it touches the heat element, even with regular stirring. I will say it got me plenty medicated, and I was producing tasty vapor up to the point where it was good and heated up and then it would switch on me all of a sudden and start tasting burned. Draw technique will be a must with this one, and I am curious how it will behave with different herbs. Mine are pretty dry. I have been running med. to fine grind, have not tried whole nug yet.

Thanks I'll get some.
I still load the 2.4V carts.
My yield is so efficient.
I find that if it will melt it will load.
Well Purged wax seems to be drier.
However loading once heated is easy.
The TRUST FIRE Batteries work just not as well as the IMR's.

My experience is the same. The taste is slightly "well done".
I found that with the finest grind, and regular shaking like with an MFLB, I can get the entire load tosted to my satisfaction, but as Jam said the flavor is a little bit scorched (but with no combustion)
EDIT note- This belongs in the Omicron thread perhaps. Sorry I responded to the post here, because it was here in the Persei thread. Please note my response is an "Omicron Response"

Could mild heat over an extended period of time slowly break down the delrin? That's my main concern at the moment. If it melts that's an obvious stopping point, but what if its degrading and off-gassing slowly. Melting seems improbable until it gets weak from use. Physics geeks please dont jump on me too bad, I know nothing about delrin...
