Just tought I would share an idea with all of you vaporists who enjoy using the LSV with just a transfer wand (like Vito). Since the Cloud's ELBs fit into the Cloud's 18.8mm male joint, couldn't it fit into the 18.8mm male joint of the LSVs transfer wand? Just a theory, but since the ELB is straight instead of tapered like a 18.8mm joint, wouldn't that mean that little to no stirring required since the air path could then reach all of the herb? Again, just and idea that popped in my head.

I do something similar with an EQ elbow screen; just plug it into the male joint of the vapor tamer, and you're good to go.

Greetings LSV veterans,

My LSV arrived today from VapeWorld and before I fire it up for he first time I had a few questions. When I took off the heat shield and heater cover to check how far the ceramic heating element was sticking out to see if it needed adjusting, I noticed that the ceramic already had black smudges on it, similar to how my Hakko would look when I was combusting. Is this normal? I see my ceramic tip only sticky out where you can barely see the D on the STD so I wll have to read back and find the post where it explains how to pull the tip out further.

Also, when I removed the heater cover, the metal shim came off and a small sliver of metal fell off. The shim slides down all the way to the screws but I was not sure of the small sliver of metal is suppose to come off like that. I can slide the heater cover all the way down to the screws and seems to fit fairly snug. When I screw the heat shield back on the heater cover is off center, is this normal as well?

Thanks for the help!

What you are posting seems to be normal. My units has black smudges on the ceramic. Put the shim back in if you can. My glass cover sits slightly crooked as well as many others, I believe this is because the heater covers are handblown. I wouldn't worry about these small details man. Fire her up you should be good to go!

I will provide you instructions on how to keep the heater element in place, but keep in mind, you could pull or cross wires which would render the unit broken and you would have to send it to us for repairs. It sounds like you need to keep the heater element in place and this could fix all your problems. Pull the heating element up gently and hold the cap and shim down, to prevent the cap and shim from being pulled out. On the side of the heating element, close to the bottom as it is coming out of the cap, you will see the letters "STD-". Pull the heating element out til you see the dash and then slightly twist. Slightly twist. This should hold the heating element in place. -----Chris (7th Floor)

Wow, thanks for the fast responses, this is why FC rocks, among other reasons. I am going to fire it up before I try adjusting the ceramic heating element to see how hot it runs. If it does not seem to run hot enough I will try adjusting it, thanks again lwein and Steele.

I also want to give thanks to VapeWorld for a great deal on the LSV and superb customer service. I wanted a LSV with the cord strain relief and 18mm shorty wpa. Ellen from customer service said she would let the warehouse know my requests. Before it shipped she called me to let me know that they were out of the 18mm shortys and I decided to get a 14mm and use an adapter, I can always pick up a 18mm shorty down the road if I think I will need it. I am very grateful she called instead of sending me an 18mm tall wpa that I would of sent back for a shorty.

Well enough of my ramblings, time to fuck combustion!

Why is my LSV calling to me? My PD never did that. My DBV never did it either. Niether did my VG, my Zephyr Ion, Iolite, Vapostar or MFLB. None of my other vapes did. But this thing.

It's possessed, I tell ya. Possessed. Mid-day, its like..........."Ya know you want me. You want to hear that nice little click when you turn me on. You like to see that warm glow coming from my holes. You like the feel of me in your hands........the warmth, the weight, the feeling of something that was just put together so right. You like the effortless way that I can float your boat without any restriction what so ever. Go ahead. Take me out of that softly cushioned bag that you so carefully put me in each night before you go sleep. Take me out, flip my switch and watch me glow. It's what I was made for. It's all for you........."

(I think I need to get out more................. :uhoh: )

well i ordered one, and i just got the email telling me it has shipped! :) super pumped! I loved the SSV so much and was originally going to get one of those again.

that is until I noticed that the LSV price has dropped drastically. can anyone tell me why?? does 7th floor have a new product that will be coming out soon? why no drop on the ssv also? anyways.

I have a question for you wand users:

do you take it out between hits or just leave it in there connected? With it being gong. i would be concerned about breaking it accidentally from bumps or jolts. (should I have ordered replacement covers and wands? how likely will i break things? I think to think I am pretty careful with my belongings.

btw, i do not take my solo stem out between hits. because I'd spill herb everywhere. same thinking for the lsv? is there a screen on the element side of things too? or is it free like the ssv and i believe the dbv is also?

I also got the short wpa for the additional 10 bucks. seemed like a no brainer. glad i seemed to have chosen the correct one! :p

pretty pumped to get it and try it out!

When alone, I still take it out for that reason, but I keep it nearby.. for the long transfer wand, I love standing it in corners.. so I can leave it full.
I do always remove it between hits.
There is a screen on the element side also.
The shorty wpa is my favorite by far.
The price went down, I believe, because production increased (due to new colors being added)
Congrats on getting one.. I am sure you will enjoy it~:)

We're here to fuck shit up.
I started using the fatty vapor tamer as the mouthpiece in my GBD FC bubbler while using the LSV. It is a very nice, very cool experience. The LSV has taken over as my daily driver. I love the low settings with very long even draws. It can slowly skim milk my AC and bubbler with the tastiest vapor. The clouds are immense and so satisfying.

When using the transfer wand, I just leave it in between hits, but I don't really put a wand down till its pooched.
I always keep the wand disconnected from the LSV between wands though.
I have yet to break a LSV part, I've got a couple of backup heater covers, just in case, but I haven't needed them yet.

I don't fill the transfer wand to the top. Just like the DBV, or SSV GonG HC, I fill the male joint approx 1/2 way, which still leaves plenty of room for stirring.
There is a screen in the HC, sometimes (pretty rarely) I'll just blow/suck rapidly a couple of times (no inhaling, just sorta pushing the air in and out of my mouth) instead of stirring.

thanks for the replies guys! I think you all covered my questions perfectly! :)

glad to hear you fill it the same as the ssv. i will get my ritual back now then! :p it's Gong though, where has I had the standard on the ssv. minor difference. I ordered a spare marble pick also this time! :)

the blowback idea is novel, but I imagine i will stick to the stirring with the pick, I liked to examine them usually and check on progress as i went!

also, I'm glad to hear it's just simply because production has gone up. passing the savings on to consumers. a rare thing to hear of these days I find.

i feel confident with my purchase!

Which WPA did you order? I ordered my LSV with a short 14mm WPA from VapeWorld, but they sent me the long version of the WPA. When I contacted them, they said that they were out of stock in the shorty, but when I told them that this was a deal breaker, they put me on hold and then came back to tell me that they found one in another warehouse and that they would send it out to me with 2 days along with a return postage sticker to return the long one back them. I received it on time, but if you ordered the shorty wpa, they may be out of stock. Contact them. They will respond.

I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure I had ordered the shorty. All the confirmation email says is 19mm, with a SKU of LSV-H2O19. I'll give them a ring later today, since that's probably the issue.

thanks

EDIT: ok good advice lwien. I just called them up and it took maybe a minute for them tell me it's being shipped tomorrow. They also said it was delayed longer than normal due to the holiday rush.

Have spent the last few days getting to know my LSV. For my first 2 wpa bowls I was getting good results but had to crank up my dial to about 4 to finish a wpa bowl, turns on at about 7-7:30. I had tried to pull out my ceramic tip but was worried I would break my unit because when I pulled and slightly twisted, it would sink back in every time so I gave up, the - (dash) was about half visible. Yesterday I tried adjusting it again and now the entire dash after the STD is visible. That little bit made all the difference.

Now I can start a bowl at around 12 and finish it at about 2-2:30 on the dial and managed to get my ABV a nice dark brown. As far as the performance goes, I cannot really add anything that has not already been said about the LSV. Excellent flavor and produces good thick vapor that knocks you on your ass. I was also surprised how many good hits I was able to get with such a small amount. I packed a bit too much when I filled my very first bowl and I was hitting that for a solid half hour, left me way over medicated. When I added some tasty Co2 wax to my flowers I was off to the moon with just a few hits.

Pairing the LSV with my Lev Lattice bubbler is a great match. Smooth tasty hits that can result in a coughing fit if I try milking it too long. My only question at this point is why I waited so long to get a LSV? I am glad I decided to pick this up during Black Friday at a great price and I would pay even more for it after using it for a few days. I love how quick it heats up and that in a matter of minutes I can crank it up and take a few big quick hits, or dial it down and enjoy some of the tastiest vapor for such a long duration of time, that flavor lasts and lasts hit after hit.

If anyone is debating on buying themselves a LSV I would do it yesterday. Like a few others have stated, I am surprised there are not two, three hundred pages on this thread.

edit: Bouldorado- When my ordered shipped last week, the called me to say they were out of the 18/19mm shortys so I went with a 14 and use an adapater. Give them a call and they will sort you out, based on my only transaction with them they seem to have great customer service.

Great. While I would have preferred that they call me and tell that they had an inventory problem with the shorty rather than just sending me the long one, I do understand how wires can get crossed and things that are not supposed to happen........do, but they are super responsive when communicated with the second time around. I would not hesitate to order from them again.

Anyone have any experience with wickie pipe.com they have a 15% off offer running which would make the LSV 152.99!
