hey i got an idea! a possible easy fix for the hercules why wouldnt this work? completely remove black case with mouthpiece. slide new custom made downstem over herc and make it to attach like the bender but to the herc! then you can have many options for glass mouthpieces or tubes to connect to bubblers etc, and its GLASS!!! everyone definetly likes glass!!! and when is the core being released! that is a must have for when your at home u dont waste your batteries.....

Oil, Glass & I'm a bit of an ass
I am wondering if the melted Delrin mouthpieces are caused by Volcano screens holding the oil tanks too high in the sleeve and transfering heat to the mouthpieces?
100% unrelated. I melted my first herc's mouthpiece about 40% as bad as the image posted and I never attempted the VSS mod. I actually attributed it to the super glue i had used to stop the ring from coming off the insulator. I did not apply super glue to my 2nd herc, and it's mouthpiece also started to melt but not nearly as bad. I also returned that unit rather quickly (it was "broken" in 4 days) but noticed the mouthpiece starting to gray on the leading edge of thread where the coin slots are.

Look Into My Eyes
Elemental does the same bullshit, ever wonder why everything is a 20% or higher THC on their menu?

So, this BBK tests at a 15.05% THC, do we agree? Look on page two for the "Max Theoretical THC" and that is the number they use. Same reason MedMar has a 29% THC bud and same reason people say PureGold is 90-95%. They are basically posting THC-A%, not THC. I don't support (misleading patients.) liars....

Edit- that wax from revolution looks pretty garbage, no way it's 94%!

PG claims a high percent (90-95%) and it actually tests middle of the road (48% d9 thc). The tests were done through HPLC chromatography, whatever that is. It did test with a stupidly low CBD level <.01%.

Harlequin Rx BHO is super high in CBD. Near 40%.

Some stuff called Dama oil tests very high THC as well. This is all through http://analytical360.com/testresults.

Do it in quartz so it won't easily crack and I'm sold.

So I am testing out the 3.7v Herc for G and was told to post about my findings. It just got here, I wiped everything down with an iso soaked qtip to remove any residue. I loaded enough of med. grind to cover and surround the ceramic heat core, put it on the Persei with Orbtronic 18650 battery. it's definitely giving some light vapor. I let it heat for about 15 sec from cold start, very gently drawing to see if vapor is present. Once it warms up it is definitely giving me some vapor, and it tastes good, but it seems to be plateauing.

I put it on the Omicron V1 and it started to get warm, but just drained the battery fast, so I need to recharge and try again, to see if my battery was low, or if it just takes too much juice to power it for very long with the V1. I don't think this one is going to get hot enough to melt any of the parts, at least not the one I have. It is working ok on the Persei, the 15 sec. time out keeps making it hard to keep it running hot enough so maybe it's better with the hammer top. First impression, it does work, it's not burning the bud, getting light vapor. I am getting medicated, but not getting huge amount of vapor from it which maybe good for stealth if you just need a few quick puffs. I need to spend a bit more time with it, to see if I can hone my draw technique a bit, and let my batteries charge back up.

*downside to having the removable insulator at the bottom threaded the same direction as the heat core, it unscrewed, but the inside heat core piece won't and is stuck inside the black outer sleeve now. Not sure how to get it out with out messing up the threads. :\

just gently push it down from the top inside. should slide right out. not threaded. hope that helps

am distressed by the burning mouthpieces. hope this is addressed in final fix.
i for one don't have such issues, but i am using the vss and not using my tank tops. maybe that is helping?

Hey guys just to update you I feel fine today, no more irritated throat.

That being said, Bob, the method you described is the same exact way I was using my Hercules when the mouthpiece melted, so I don't think that's why you haven't had an issue.

thanks for the update and i'm glad ur feeling better. thanks for the clarity on your operational issue. i feel somewhat responsible that my method may have caused this, so i am doubly glad to hear you are feeling better.

Thanks Bob, I had to give it a pretty good push. I put another round in there, and packed it a bit fuller this time. Its hitting, but I am getting slight flavor of combustion, even though the hits are small. I gave it a stir, tried again, and still got that bad burned taste. It's not lighting up a cherry, I think it's just mildly scorching. I am sure this is one of those, got to find the sweet spot vapes, so you have to pay attention, and adjust your airflow according to how it tastes. I'm a little bummed about the burned taste, it was doing really good, then I started pulsing the button to keep the heater going and must have gotten it a little too warm. It will take a little getting used to.

yea, i found that grind and pack have a lot to do w/ proper production w/this one. changing hit technique doesn't seem to do much to vapor production as much as the former seems to, in my experience

Thanks Bob, but don't feel bad bro, I highly doubt it was because of your method. MaDsCiEnTiSt22 has reported the same melting issue and I don't think he has the VSS mod and probably uses his tanks with the top on I would assume.

I don't think the VSS is causing the melting. I was worried about so I took mine apart and cleaned it today. I inspected everything for melting. Mine is ok. I have ran 4 or 5 grams of oil through mine.

I just used the hammer top with my 3.7 herc. Much better. Let it heat for 15 seconds then pulsed 3secs on and 1-2 seconds off. Taste great nice light vapor and definitly got me medicated quickly.
been a long day snowboarding and me brains a bit melty, but you did what now?

Thanks for verifying that mclovin, as I suspected, mine kept timing out right when it was reaching peak heat, so I had to start pulsing instead, and that made it a bit harder to control. I am having to pulse with the V1 as well and it seems to be working the V1 pretty hard, and got that combusted taste again as soon as it got hot enough, so I think the hammer top seems to keep it more steady and easier to control. I have truely become a vape snob... the combustion taste is still getting to me, I will have to empty/clean and try again later.

Jam, does your regular head on persei have a time out.
My chrome one stays on as long as you hold button

mine times out in about 15 seconds, starts to blink and turns off if held on continually.

Persei shouldn't have a timeout. You could have bad batteries though. I have two sets of batteries here, one is a pair of trustfires has been used and abused for over a year. The other is a brand new pair of AWs. The trustfires go out after a similar 15s, but my aws can stay on for a minute or more.

My theory is they just cant put out enough power? Like some sort of runaway heat+resistance thing basically causes the persei to go into protection mode? Going to have to defer to someone that knows about electronics, but anyways in my experience weak batteries will do the same thing as your seeing.

It's gotta be the batteries. I use my regular head with the bender and imr batteries and run over a minute all the time. When I ran an evo cart on it I had to top two minutes.
