Ah I have to disagree ej. I have an original unit bought from a certified dealer. I have never had out gassing. Now I will see what some are calling out gassing when it does get resonated. It takes a long time to burn it off and I have to iso it as well but it does go away. When the unit was new I saw no gas at all after the burn in and it was my second vape the first being the MFLB. I know it has been reported here and I always wonder if it is real or just machine junk burning off and then the person uses it and thinks the resin is gas and somehow it never stops. I think with some it may have been gas but I think most were cleanliness issues not unlike if you don't clean your pax.

This is my opinion of course and I have no idea how these vapes or machines work. I am happy with my original DV with no logos and my metal tin. As you can see I do have a line up of vapes now and my opinion of the DV has not changed.
Disagree with what? I never said all of them do this. I don't see how can you disagree with my experience, I've cycled this thing completely empty tons of times in a row and it has yet to fade at all.

I reported this way earlier in the thread when I think kushcabbage was talking about it. I have a white davinci and it also has this nasty yellow-browning of the white case surrounding the bowl. Is this the source of the nasty mystery vapor? All I know is the plastic is having a chemical reaction to the heat. Not good.

Weren't you aware that most amazon dealers are not authorized and as such, you could not use its warranty?

It is not random that the price is usually at +200$.. the only vaporizer i'm confident of buying at almost 50% off is the Solo because it is sold at a well known store here at FC. I understand your frustration but you should be aware of the risks when buying at amazon.

Ok I apologize. I wasn't accusing you, tis why I said my opinion. I was just wondering if you got so frustrated that you couldn't see what was maybe happening. I am truely surprised that they won't warranty especially since they said last night that they haven't seen any imitations/fake ones out on the market. Possibly use that post to get help.

Well, it seems my trusty DaVinci is no longer trustworthy. A couple of weeks ago it would not go into heat mode when I pressed the Temperature Power Button, but I found I could get it to heat by plugging in the power adaptor.
Now, no matter what I do the heat cycle will not start and it's a (un)stoned cold paperweight. I bouth this unit in May directly from Organicx so I tried calling the 800 number listed on their website. After 20-25 rings with no answer, I gave up on the phone and came here to see if I can get any response from the DaVinci folks on this forum.
I have a few gigs coming up and sure would like to take my "little friend" to help the band get in the mood before hitting the stage.

Sound to me like a battery/charger issue. Too low an output from the charger could do just this I think. Does charging look normal? Does it charge and the bars stop rippling? Before turning on the heater, does it respond right (temperature shown, can be changed, etc)?

The charger works as normal. the screen shows I have a full charge (4 bars) and the up/down temp buttons work as well. But nada when I press the Temperature Power Button. I tried pusing it from different angles thinking it may be a bad connection under the button but nothing happens.

Well since you can't get the dealer and if they are an authorized one I would just call DaVinci and ask them to trouble shoot and if need be send it in to be fixed or replaced.

Yeah, that's what I'm trying to do. As I said, DaVinci *was* the dealer (Organicx is the trade name they use) and when I call their 800 number, no one answers. I fired off an email from their customer support web page but I'm hoping to get a definitive "we'll fix or replace it" with a timeline from a real live customer service rep.

Well you got lucky with a newer unit seeing as they have apparently wised up and fixed the issue. Funny how they fix it, but still deny there was ever a problem. That's called being dishonest and I feel justified in calling them out for that. I have an original one that does outgas and there are multiple reports here and other places. If they are somehow not being dishonest here, then let them come and explain why they replaced the units that were doing it. Until then they are lying to people in my eyes and that also breaks the rules here.

I'm pissed because I bought mine on amazon so they refuse to warranty it. So essentially I was sold a nonworking toxic inhaler for $150 and then given the shaft. Fuck that.

Seriously how dare they release something like this. I can cycle this thing forever and the vapor never goes away. Its not resin burning off, that would have a distinct smell and eventually fade. If I ever met the person heading this operation I would slap him.

I'm suprised - usually Davinci people have treated us well. I hope it works out for you. BTW, my unit isn't so new either - I bought it from a smoke shop while I was in NY for my brothers funeral (I needed to vape BADLY to calm myself) and the owner said I bought the last of the batch. He said he had it for a while as well.

You never know what is going on since I bet the company is small like a lot of the vape companies. Give them a chance and I hope they make it right.

after a bit of use I can say the batterylife is pretty good. this morning I used it outside in freezing weather, let it heat up in my pocket and held it in my hands(wich were gloved) to isolate it a bit from the cold. didn't use it for a full 10 minute session.
then later at home in my bed I finished off that load woth a full 10 minute cycle, and reloaded it and did another full 10 minute cycle.
during that last cycle it was cycling between 2 and 3 bars with the heater on. with the heater off it has 3 bars(and I plugged it into the charger again a few minutes ago)
so I'm guessing that I could get 5-6 full cycles out of a full battery

A reminder to DaVinci users: KEEP YOUR ABV! It's got LOTS more to give!

I've been cleaning that little DaVinci chamber out into an old aspirin bottle since August 1st. Having 27 grams of ABV saved-up, the bottle was full. I converted it into cannabutter using the Grandma Nonna slow-cook crock pot recipe on YouTube

Then I substituted my fresh 1/2# of cannabutter for the cooking oil called for on the box of Girardelli Chocolate Brownie mix. WHOA!!! Ate one at 6PM and was still feeling no pain at Noon the next day... Your cannabutter will show the same color as the color of your ABV, so expect it to be tannish/brown. Mmmmmmmmmmm good!

I tried again, and this time I succeeded at uploading the video. the taper I cut on the silicon stem isn't very visible(the room has a window mostly on the north, and it's winter), I tried to show it a bit better under the light of the screen of my ipod, but rhat didn't really work out so it looks a bit odd, me waving an ipod over a silicon tube.
btw, easter egg: the shirt I'm wearing is 100% hempfiber(and the shirt underneath 55%)

With regards to using the DV with oils/waxes.

What are some of the different solutions you all have come up with to get the oil can to sit a bit higher or line up correctly for vaporization ?

Any "out of the can" methods work better?

Currently I just use a number of SS screens stacked on the bottom of the main chamber.

today in the coffeeshop I dumped out my grinder to fill my DV, looked like plenty of small bits of herb but as it stuck majorly to my fingers I found out it was actually more parts kief as I thought. that was enough to fill half the chamber, topped it up with some of the weed I just bought.
and when it had heated and I started taking hits from it, I discovered the DV CAN make clouds(I had it on 180 degrees celsius btw)
the brush that comes with the DV works well for brushing out my grinder, and gathering herb/kief if I dump out my grinder on a glossy paper(I use a booklet from a concert that was held this summer)
