Yep I have a tin box and use it for my vapes supplies. I am special that I have one of the first ones and it is still working great. I didn't think it was a knock off till you said they all had the logos and such.

Sorry for the rest of you that don't have the tin box :D

Yes mine does that as well but not after 3 hours unless I read the post wrong. You are correct maybe there was only five minutes of use but I didn't read it that way. I hardly ever stop before a full ten minute session so mine after one session a full charge will either be on four or bounce between three and four as you said. Now if it is still on four after three hours I want one of those batteries. The DV has one of the best battery life to me. I think it may even beat out my INH.
yes it was a short session. since my UD was also warmed up at the moment, my DV is for portable use but since that first time was outside in freezing weather I wanted to try out how the vapor/clouds looked inside with roomtemp at the same temps used outside.
that was the first session since taking it fully charged off the charger(the oilcan-tryout was with the DV still charging)

now going to finish that load from yesterday, still have to do some sinterklaasshoppping in the city(sinterklaas is a holiday we celebrate at 5 december, about saint nicolaas who at 5 december gives everyone presents, and in the days leading up to it children can get presents in their shoe if they sing a song and put their shoe below the chimney), I usually don't power up the UD if I have to leave home soon. and I'm probably making a visit to the coffeeshop too, then I can show off the DV to some friends

and thanks fpr the explanation on the logos, I did recognise the ec one(altough I didn't actually know what it meant, I've just see it before on a lot of things)

btw, I'm now vaping with my DV trough my bong. I discovered the mouthpiece of the flexistraw fits inside the thick silicon from the UD-stems. not a perfect seal, but since it's both rubbery it already makes a decent seal. I have pne short UD-stem I made for bong-use, with tapered end to fit in the 14 mm GonG. if I remove the screen from this stem I can just stick the DV-mouthpiece in, the silicon stem is pushed in a little where it mates with the gong, so there it makes a better seal.

my DV just shut off, so apparently 10 minutes have gone by, and the batery is up to 4 bars again. (was at 3 bars with the heater on) I put it on the charger to have it fully full for when I go to the city.

Great news, glad you didn't send it in...they would have found nothing wrong, a very common happening in such cases.

That sounds about right. I don't use water but from what I understand you can stack tubing. So if your UD fits do you have another tube to mate with that one to make it a little thicker? If you do you are in business. I don't know if this is kosher but in my head it works. At that spot it really doesn't get hot so why not pad it with some say electrical tape to make it mate better if no other tube? I would only do that if I had an extra tube cause it will get sticky from the tape.

dreamerr, could you explain that in some other way? don't know of it's just vaped me, but I don't understand what you mean.

(maybe you misunderstood me too, I have a piece of silicon tube that, since I tapered it at one end, fits into a 14 mm gong and makes a good seal. with a screen in it this can function as stem/bowl for my UD, but withoyt screen the mouthpiece of the flexistraw also fits into this bit of tube, and makes a seal good enough for vaporbonging. no extra mods required. since where the silicin tube is tapered, it's pushed together a bit by the gong and the inside diameter becomes a little less, so while the mouthpiece makes a loose seal woth the regular diameter of this tube it makes a better seal at the end where it meets the tapered area. since you mentioned tape I now think maybe there's the misunderstanding, I mean tapered as in I cut off some off the outside to make the outer diameter smaller)

First of all I want to say, thank you everyone for the very quick and helpful responses!

Not to me. I do like to blow out the chamber if I have a can of air handy, or stick a brush in to get rid of clinging bits of herb, but it's not a big deal IMO. For the most part I can just tap out the ABV and reload.

It's manageable, just not ideal.

Nobody can give you any more than a guess on that. I like this model for portable use and have even used it inside a few times, but people have different preferences and expectations.

Cleaning it with an Air Can is a pretty nifty idea! :)

Since I never used a Vaporizer before it's kinda hard to say now what I will like and dislike. I'm pretty sure I can get used to medicating without combusting because medicating without tobacco was quiet a change too but I got used to it really fast.

Oh ok I thought you said it wasn't mating well with the bong...so if I understand you know it is on the DV side that it isn't mating a 100%. What I meant in either respect is if the UD tube is say 1/2" then you can take 1/4" tubing and put them together so it will be a tighter fit. If I don't understand this time then it is just words which escape my logic. I am a person who needs to hear and speak to understand and sometimes to explain as well.

Hey Malkarion!
I have about the same medication routine and the Davinci is my new best friend. Haven't combusted since I've gotten it, about 2 weeks ago. At first my reaction to the lid was 'are they f*cking kidding me?!", but I've gotten used to it. Filling isn't the problem, emptying it is a bit of a hassle. But as long as you don't pack the grinds down too hard, a quick stir with the back end of the brush and dump does the trick. It's annoying, but not a 'major annoyance'. Also, it's easier to fill the oven if you keep the storage compartment stocked with fine grinds and just use the back end of the brush to transfer into the oven.
If you've never vaped before you are certainly in for a treat. You won't get that 'dirty' feeling in your head and chest that makes the following bowls less enjoyable.
I was in the same boat as you too that by the time I make a decision, another unit is on the market. But fear not, they always need design tweaks so you're better off waiting anyway.

Thank you, I'm used to cleaning my spoon pipe regularly too.
I will just have to pull the trigger at some point. ;)

With the lid I agree with most here - is it perfect? No, but in reality once you get used to it its not all that bad. The way I do it is I grind my herb and pour it onto a small piece of paper, I then fold the paper like a funnel and pour my weed into the DV. As for unloading the trick is to do it warm - if you just tap it on the side when your done with your session most of the cooked herbs will fall right out. I then take the brush it comes with and swish around the chamber and the rest should fall out too. I have NEVER had any issues cleaning the DV. IMO a removable lid would be better but its still a great device.

Thanks, this is pretty much how I handle my spoon pipe now and that's how I would do it with the DV too.

Save up your money it becomes addicting. Each vape gives you something a bit different. I usually use about three different ones a day. It depends on my mood, what kind of draw I want, how fast I want to get a hit blah blah blah.

The INH is available or it will be at www.lacentralevapeur.com , don't know what you meant by readily available so you can always try them. I must warn you though, that the INH might not be the best for bubble/hash. The better option for that is the Solo.

The DV has an oil can though that should work okay.. from the reports of people who tried it there are improvements to be made still and i think someone as already applied some minor fixes to the oil can process.

Between the DV and the Solo, the biggest difference between them IMO, is that the Solo has the better taste and the DV has the better stealth, this according to my own preferences in a vaporizer of course.

I could not tell from your post, if you were going to use it much outside the house, in a public venue. I think that might be the decisive factor here.

Well, I would use my Vaporizer 99% of the time at home, but outside. I rarely medicate when not at home, maybe 10 times a year or so. The stealth factor would be mostly for our kids (they are still small) so they would not notice right away what I'm doing.

I really am a weed connoisseur so taste plays an important role. Thanks for bringing this up!

About the availability, I meant the availability here in Germany. I can get the Solo and Davinci in quiet a few stores but I have never seen the INH here.

Here is my two cents. I don't take the DV out of the house much anymore because of the lid. I like fast loading and unloading and to me the lid is a pain in the ass. As some said unloading isn't as bad but you have to bang the bottom, or at least I do, to get it out with needing a stir sometimes depending on your grind. The new DV will fix the lid issue if you want to wait.

Max I never thought of using an air can that is so smart. I have plenty of them in the house and will now put them to use for my vapes.

As vorrange said if you aren't going to use it out I would get the solo although they are very different. The bubble hash and flexibility of the solo would be better if you are using it around the house.

I like both for different reasons and for different uses. If you do like oils and concentrates DV is for you.

The issue is if you want to wait you would have to see how long it will be before the new one comes out. My guess is not to long. If you want to save money they are selling the old DV cheap because of the new one coming out.

I have a stash box that I simply grab and go outside now. I fill my pipe and smoke, clean it and go back in. We have a roof over our terrace so I'm safe from rain etc. Would be filling the DV in those circumstances (sometimes cold and windy) be a problem?

Could you explain why the Solo is good for hash and the DV better for oil/concentrates?

Thanks!

You know this is just be but I don't even like to load the DV in the car. So I don't think I am the best to answer that question. Some say use a piece of paper and cone it. I still find it a pain. The way I load mine is grab some in my hand and drop it on the black and just knock it in by hitting the side. I don't even think I can do it in the wind if I tried hard but that is me.

The DV has oil cans which makes clean up and such easier. I don't use oil but do kief. I have used it in the can as well as in between my herb no biggy either way.

I like the solo for very different reasons. I like the glass and ss no smell. I can travel with it cause it can be cleaned easier to new. I actually bought it for that reason alone since I have somewhere I need to go and needed a "safe" vape. The draw on the DV is very good. If I had to rate, and it is a very personal thing, I would put INH first, DV, SSV, then solo but the solo is moving up the list as I get used to the draw speed. That is not the order of how much I like a vape it is just how much the draw works for me.

I hope that explains it if not fly another question. Remember vaping is very personal. We all like different things and no vape is perfect for anyone really. I think that is why we all have many and use different ones for different reasons. I rotate about three a day if I didn't say that on this thread cept today when I decided to not vape which is why I am awake and rambling.

If cost or 'green issues' concern you, please consider the traditional photographer's solution:

I use the red version, harder to loose.

Oh my vodka what is that...that is so kewl. Ok max taking the credit back and now giving it to OF. Only issue is I have about 3 new cans of air in the house and one almost full one. OF will that work on cleaning puters too? If so I will never buy air again. Is it as strong of a flow without killing yourself pressing it? I'm in love...I think I am going punch crazy now.

Wait I don't see color choices...ah so you can take pictures hehe shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I won't tell. Wow I just looked on amazon and there are so many different kinds.

I think I understand it now. for me it helps most to see it in front of me, I also sometimes remember things visually while not thinking in images so my descriptions can be a bit poor.
the UD-silicon tube mates with the gong due to the carving/tapering(actually it's slightly too big on the outside), the da vinci-mouthpiece fits inside that silicon tube pretty well, like the stacking you describe, but not very tight.

so far I find the loading pretty easy, I just dump some out on a paper(or table), and dump some pinches in there with my fingers. if some pieces land outside the bowl I can easily move them to the bowl with the brush. don't think I'm going to use the storage compartment, except for oilcans.
and when dumping out I just hold it over a piece of paper, tap the unit a few times and to be sure I also brush the bowl out a bit, so far it still looks pretty clean. but that's only with 2 loads gone trough it.

It does a fine job if you asked me.....hey, you did.....

Air can can out blow them, but for keyboards, dirt inside and so on they do great (I also use a serious CO2 version designed for blowing out commercial textile machines for heavy stuff). They also never leak out. Red is the classic color I think, Amazon sells them, too:

Yes, I know how to drive a real camera.....and develop film.....remember film?

I also know how to pay taxes, and be nice to jerks, too. Don't volunteer much there, either.

Maybe adding an O-ring will tighten it and costs like nothing. Yea I need to see and hear so I understand. I hate when people want to talk to me through email, text or IM cause you can't hear inflections.

Film you know I have a bunch of canisters I keep some of my stash in cause it is almost gone. I also use the film containers to carry my stuff. It is hard to load the DV with it but I do it at home sometimes. I will PM you about the air one which is best in the future. I am going to eventually put in an amazon order but not in any rush since it is all just junk I want. It won't be for months.

Shhhhhhhhh nobody reads all the words.

Hey, I've got some kicking around that are old enough to be made of steel, not aluminum or plastic..... In the day Agfa and others had there versions as well.

Not to worry. Many who actually read all the words don't understand you know.

The first part was to make djonkoman connection tighter. Correct me if that won't work.

Edit: Ok I get why you didn't understand me which means he won't either. My thought was to put a very thin o ring on the stem and then the tube over it to make it real tight.

I think it also doesn't help that english isn't my native laguage, for example this is the first time I hear the word inflection. I tried google translate, and google tells me the dutch word is 'verbuiging' , wich I know, bur that would be just as present in written as in spoken form.. (I most associate it with latin, where nouns change depending on the grammatical role, like -us for subject and -um for object)

but that the DV mouthpiece doesn't make a tight seal isn't a problem, since where this short piece of silicon tube is shoved inside the GonG, it's compressed a bit, so the inside diameter is slightly less at that point, so once the DV mouthpiece reaches that point it doesn't go any further and makes a pretty good seal.

LOL I never think of such simple solutions OF. Why make my life easy? A rubber band is the best way but now he doesn't need it.

That is ok djonkoman I speak to a bunch of dutch people and they never understand me. A matter of fact most people don't. I don't speak English either. I speak a little known language called Brooklynese. So basically it is American which is English slang and then a slang of that with a huge accent. Think Saturday Night Fever.

Ok off to try to get three winks....night all...

You can get the Inhalater at that website i mentioned then, they're based in France so it's fine.

About the Solo better for hash, i prefer it because i can remove the stem between hits and use it upside down to minimize conduction and prevent dirtying up the bowl. The glass stem also allows the flavour to come out too.

The DV is better for oil just because it has the oil can. The Solo can be made to use oil, as Vito demonstrated in a video recently in the Solo thread, but the DV already comes with all the equipment you need.

I demand a proper explanation of the mystery vapor. So far all of seen is the rep come in here and say they are not outgassing, but then offer to replace. If there's nothing wrong with it, why replace? It seems to me they are trying to sweep this issue under the rug. There is no other explanation than outgassing if we are seeing vapor before loading anything. I just don't understand how they can claim its not an outgass(how could it not be?) and then be willing to replace when users claim the issue.

Also I would just like to state what a bunch of bullshit the support number is. Nobody has a god damn clue what the product even is. Unacceptable, I will never forgive davinci for this.
Fuck you for compromising my health and then giving me the fucking run around.

Death to the davinci!, I hope it is slow and painful.

I have never had an out gas issue at all - as far as connecting tightly to water OF is right. If you look at my earlier post with picks of my rigged water adapter all I did was use 2 rubber grommets. When I pulled the first 2 hits I realized that air was getting in the line somewhere - I took everything apart and placed a black rubber band (one my daughter uses for her hair)and placed it tightly where the mouthpiece meets the hose from the DV and the seal was tight. I will try and take pictures that explain later when I get home from work. IMO if Karma comes up with an adapter themselves I would make it screw into the actual outlet from the device NOT THE HOSE! That will make the connection airtight.

Well you got lucky with a newer unit seeing as they have apparently wised up and fixed the issue. Funny how they fix it, but still deny there was ever a problem. That's called being dishonest and I feel justified in calling them out for that. I have an original one that does outgas and there are multiple reports here and other places. If they are somehow not being dishonest here, then let them come and explain why they replaced the units that were doing it. Until then they are lying to people in my eyes and that also breaks the rules here.

I'm pissed because I bought mine on amazon so they refuse to warranty it. So essentially I was sold a nonworking toxic inhaler for $150 and then given the shaft. Fuck that.

Seriously how dare they release something like this. I can cycle this thing forever and the vapor never goes away. Its not resin burning off, that would have a distinct smell and eventually fade. If I ever met the person heading this operation I would slap him.

Ah I have to disagree ej. I have an original unit bought from a certified dealer. I have never had out gassing. Now I will see what some are calling out gassing when it does get resonated. It takes a long time to burn it off and I have to iso it as well but it does go away. When the unit was new I saw no gas at all after the burn in and it was my second vape the first being the MFLB. I know it has been reported here and I always wonder if it is real or just machine junk burning off and then the person uses it and thinks the resin is gas and somehow it never stops. I think with some it may have been gas but I think most were cleanliness issues not unlike if you don't clean your pax.

This is my opinion of course and I have no idea how these vapes or machines work. I am happy with my original DV with no logos and my metal tin. As you can see I do have a line up of vapes now and my opinion of the DV has not changed.
