Discontinued ThermoVape Revolution for concentrates

I was just wondering if running a lighter under the stem of the revolution for a few seconds is harmful to the product? Ive seen it done on other vapes, but was not sure if it could potentially damage the bottom piece with the spring. It for sure has been my best method of getting the biggest clouds thats for sure, especially when the revolution is still cold

If you are applying direct flame (very high heat) to the threads, you may damage your seals... and risk the life of your cart. I'm not exactly sure what you mean by the spring. However, applying regulated low heat to the upper portion of the cartridge walls (away from the threads) for your oil to soften up and facilitate the vaping of your oil should be fine. I sometimes melt my harder, shatter consistency concentrates back down the sides of the DART cart with a little heat around the top lip (like you would if you have every loaded an omicron cartridge before). But try not to apply more heat than the unit would buildup self-heated, as you risk burning your oil too... which would happen long before you burn your seals up.

Hope that takes care of your concern, happy vaping

So i got one of these things around mid summer (6V Rev cart w/window), i originally intended it to use with my (DBV) wand hash or kief... bad plan batman

Results were disappointing and I put it on the shelf for the next time some concentrates (oil) came around to my neck of the woods....

Meanwhile, my DBV is getting heavy daily use as usual, and im stockpiling more and more ABV for my next batch of butter. One day im poking around previous posts in this thread and someone suggests turning ABV and kief into QWISO... so a trip to the local thrift store and another stop at the dollar store i decide to give it a go...

HOLY SHIT!

This thing is awesome! AND i have a new solution to what to do with all my ABV!
The process is SUPER easy, and VERY VERY scale-able! I use a small baby jar filled about 3/4 of the way with ABV, fill up with ISO, shake, and then heat until all the alcohol evaporates away... I HAD NO IDEA IT WAS THIS EASY!!!

Ain't that just like a Cannuk? Can't keep a secret......

Glad you broke the code. Does a bang up job, doesn't it? A guy can really get to like it......

Glad you are finally enjoying your revolution!

In case you didn't know, if you run the kief on it's own you will get an even better and more flavorful oil to enjoy and can break it out as special treat! You can get some great oil from ABV, sometimes maybe a little funky tasting, but it pales in comparison to kief oil.

Also if you freeze everything(ISO and ABV/kief/trim whatever) separate for a few hours then extract you get a much better product too. Also strain with a metal strainer first with anything other than kief, and then strain through coffee filters after. This is to get the bulk of the material out of the ISO as fast as possible to reduce chlorophyll in the oil.

Sorry I know wrong thread but I just thought I would throw out a few pointers.

what is the difference between The Original Revolution LV and The Dart Revolution LV?
Can the Revolution Dart or Original LV operate successfully on a 650 mah 3.7v battery with the pass through function?

The original rev has a Window on the side to load your concentrate, the dart is a top loader with a dabber like top. Yes I have used a dart with a pass through with no problems, however the pass through I have experience with is not a battery, but a usb drawn unit, so It can pull 2 amps. So make sure your pass through has sufficient power to supply the tv carts, should have no problem though

Thank you for the info rcflo.

I'd imagine the Dart LV is easier? My Heavy Hiter Vape Pen has a 10 second cutoff and im pretty sure 650 milliamps is tiny as fuhhhh comapared to 2 amps. Im no whiz owhen it comes to electricity though.

Does anyone know the output of the dart?
&
Would it be worth it with a battery that has a 10 second cutoff?

A couple of misunderstands getting cleared up might make it clearer?

First off, the spec of interest here is 650 mAh. The important part being the lower case H. It stands for "hours". Like adding time changes a distance (miles) to a rate (miles per hour), adding time changes mA (a measure of current flow rate, like gallons per minute might be, in this case Coulombs per second.....) to a capacity. That battery has, therefore, .650 per second times 60 seconds per minute, times 60 minutes per hour or 2340 Coulombs of electrons stored it can transfer. In case anyone asks.

So, in broad terms it can supply .65 Amps for an hour. 1.3 Amps for half an hour, 2.6 Amps for 15 minutes and so on.

LV DART is about 1.5 Ohms, a measure of resistance of current flow. For any given voltage (pressure) more resistance means lower flow (current) like you'd expect. The formula for this is like knowing distance traveled if you're told the rate of travel and the time. For electricity this is Ohm's law, the relationship between voltage (pressure), current (flow rate) and the resistance involved. In our case, using a typical 3.7 Volts and dividing it by 1.5 we get a current used of 2.5 Amps or so. If you think of the "Ohms number" in terms of units of "Volts per Amp" it might be clearer?

Anyway, take that 650 mAh and divide it by 2500 (the number of mA in 2.5 Amps) and the "mA" parts 'above and below the line' cancel each other out and you're left with .26 h (you know you're on the right track when the units part of the values work out right, in this case we lost current units and are left with only time). A quarter hour. We can expect about 15 minutes total run time from a charge.

Got it? Ready for the test?

As to the ten second time out, yes it can be a PITA which is why D9 took it out of their products after Omicron V1. However, you can pretty easily develop the habit of pulsing it every five or so seconds in use.

Of other interest, typical e-cig batteries have a fair bit of drop (voltage wise) under load. They just tune the loads to tolerate it. DART needs all the power it can get staying under the limits, even the small sag (less than half a Volt typically) from e-cig supplies can effect them. DART will do best on a low loss supply like the TV it was designed to run on with AW brand (highest quality) IMR type (best for this application) batteries. That's why this is the factory battery for the TV supply. As shipped, that supply has an important power advantage over 'all the rest' and that includes Omicron as now shipped.

While other supplies will work OK if you dance around the time out, hottest performance will come from the TV setup, followed by the right version of Omicron using the AW battery, followed by that guy with the factory IMR, followed by the rest. Exception to that would be VV heads which can compensate for the voltage drop (by pulling more power from the battery of course).

And you thought you were ready for the test......

So yes, it will work. But it can work better in terms of convenience and power with different hardware.

In an odd way your Physics lesson reminded me of my salvia trip where a portal of the earths knowledge came ripping out of the sky and started feeding me information.

I agree on attaining Different hardware. I just wish Thermovape would still have their Revolution still available.

Thanks OF on the brief Physics lesson. I understad electricity in a deeper way now.

Wow! Thank you very much for that. It's really important to me to at least occasionally connect at that level with folks trying to understand. It quite literally 'makes my day'. Taken in small, connected steps it's not that tough, it's connecting the steps in order that I think is too often the hangup?

There's the old joke about 'I smoked a lot of pot trying to see God. One day I finally did, and he told me to stop wasting my time smoking pot...'. Somehow I flashed on that, I'm still chuckling over a very old joke...

I agree, Revolution/DART is a bang up product, I hope we don't lament the loss of it in the future, once Cera hits it's stride. On the positive side, TV seems pretty darn good at picking winners......

Hey, if it does crash, maybe they'll restart Revolution or sell the IP to someone who will. Supply and demand stuff.

Thanks again, I'm glowing a bit inside, there's a break in the rain for a few hours, some sun coming out, I may move the test to the garden and do some multitasking.....you know, mix a little celebration in with the science?

Rest assured those steps were in precise order, I thought I was on stairs for a while :smug:

That they do OF, TV is a legit company.
Whats that? They're US based?

Awww yeeeuhh, AS GOOD AS GOLD!

On a second note I should be thanking you man, I've been on the hunt for info on this Heavy Hitter & Thanks to your knowledge my search is finally over & Im satisfied. So thanks again to OF!

Super, very glad to help. You're very welcome. Understanding is the gold IMO. When the pieces click into place with what you already know from your belief structure they're there for good. And the foundation grows wider and stronger, ready to be built higher still. Newton had it right.

As to TV being legit, wonder over to Cera.....it seems the new oil cart has arrived and made a splash of serious nature. They too, have used that 'build on what you know' once again. That kind of stuff can remove the barriers so you can see and confront the frontier and press it back yet again.

What a country! Too bad such greatness can inspire envy and hatred when it should bring us together.

Thanks for the heart warming feed back, seems we each owe the other a beer or two.....

OF, if it hadn't been for your heads up I'd never have stayed up till 5 AM last night.
Those Cera videos, Those Cera Videos.
Talk about Vapor!

Have you people seen the Rev Dart LV's up for sale on Thermovape!? @ $39.99 too!
Christmas will be spectacular in the snow, W/ my LV!

Yeah ain't it cool? I just got back from a run over there, wanna guess what I have? That very Cera core did you say? You're not peeking are you?

Yes I saw the 'last lot' sale (it seems a lot of 50 made up for an order didn't go....our gain). I got one for another fellow and a spare for stashing away, just in case. Cheap insurance IMO, the first can be rebuilt any time for $15 but that's not the same as having a backup handy.

Some more posts to sort through, and one more errand, then I'm going to assemble the 'Cera in a box' I brought back in oil mode, log off and give it a go......

Have a great Christmas, just a little merrier if one has one's own DART and a bit of oil..... We don't get snow in this part of California...which is OK by me. It's available should the urge strike.

My two new Dart SV's arrived today all the way from Austrailia. Thank you Vapehead for the great customer service. 9 days from the day I placed the order to the front door. Great service and will definitely shop with you again.

Gotta say after testing the Dart today I prefer it much more to the Windowed Revolution. Glad I grabbed this while there are still a few around.

Hey Thermovape are your LV's up for sale still? I can't seem to add it to my cart

VapoRoor,
For reference, I don't load more than .1 of oil at once with my Ultra/AVA combo, but then again it's pretty easy for me since my oil comes in 1ml syringes, all I do is push a drop out.
Q, are you using an ava tube rebuilt as a dart (when they ran out of rev engraved tubes) or a straight up ava?

Straight up AVA LR! My oil is pretty runny and breaks down very easily in a 91% ISO soak. I do the 20/20 burn after and the result is an atomizer with no visible vapor being emitted. Goes back to e-juice working just as I expect it to.

I just got my revolution DART in the mail the other day, and have already put ~0.75g. It seems to be improving as it breaks in, and especially now that I'm running it on my new zmax in RMS voltage mode at 10W.

Cheers, ThermoVape :smug:

It's insanely fun to use.... I stopped using flower altogether and went on a small concentrate binge. The whole "load the tip and it melts onto the ceramic, and then when it condenses it drips back down onto the ceramic" thing really ties it together. Barely any oil is lost/wasted, mine hasn't dripped from the intake holes, etc.

I'll be showing this thing off to a few friends in two days' time. I'm sure they'll love it, they don't play around with concentrates too much, but they're fans of new experiences, especially these kinds.....
