I actually haven't used my PAX in about 2 weeks. It's really not efficient at all, although I am totally new to vapes in general and maybe it's just how these things are? Am I doing something wrong? When do you guys shut it down and dump the bowl and reload? I am finding the device works and tastes best when the bowl is packed fairly solid which seems to be about a half a gram. That is easily enough for a large joint which would last me an entire day taking 5 puffs at a time here and there. The PAX, I pack it up, let it get to temp (always medium) and I get about 4 or 5 very good rips before it starts tasting a little like burnt popcorn. I then flip the brick (or stir) and I'm good for maybe another 5 rips or so and then it starts tasting like burnt popcorn. A half gram joint would be good for at least 20-30 good rips. I only get very good flowers, extreme good quality, but when I was combusting a half oz would go almost a month for me. I can go through a half oz in 2 weeks easy with the PAX.

Is this just the nature of the beast with vaporizing or what? Should I be roasting the bowl much longer than I do? I save the ABV in a sealed jar, and it smells like burnt popcorn, but it also has a hint of good flower still in there.

Frustrated to say the least. People say to vape for better conservation, I am finding the direct opposite.

The Pax is not a good choice if you're trying to conserve but it should still be better than smoking. What colour is your ABV? If it's anything lighter than ground coffee, then regardless of the taste there's still more to be gotten from it.

The flavour goes downhill more quickly in the Pax, but even though it starts to taste like crap it is still producing good vapour. Start with yellow (low) not medium (orange) and the flavour will last longer. If you want to get the most out of your Pax, though, you have to be able to tolerate the taste.

Half a gram is a lot more than you need to put in the Pax to get results. I routinely use about .2 g. When packed down that doesn't come close to filling the oven but it does get both my wife and I about 15-20 hits each. You need to find out where your sweet spot is for loading the oven. I've had success when I barely covered the floor of the oven and didn't pack it at all. That took no more than .1 g and I got a good session from it. Cut your load in half and see how that works for you.

Been a bit from my last post, no problems so far a month in with my pax(knock on wood)
just wondering what type of cleaning wipes come with the pax? im assuming iso wipes but just checking? and also does it matter what percentage iso are in the wipes?
i think theyre like 71%

I don't think it should matter too much, and yep they're just plain ol iso wipes. after I ran out of those, I just found a box of 91% wipes laying around my house and I've been using those with no problems.

You're getting 30-40 hits off one half-packed oven? I get great sessions, but I'm getting maybe 15-20 on a full oven going from low to medium to high.

Dude, if I pack a full oven really tight and start on low with a stir every 10 hits or so I can get at least 30-40 hits per oven. Most of the time the hits are pretty dense and I usually take those 30 or so hits in 3 or 4 sessions. I usually empty the oven cause it tastes bad before the could let up and I never go to the high setting anymore.

Heh, the difference is one person vs two, and how often you hit that sucker. If I'm doing it by myself, I get about the same as you do. It all goes back to my mantra: the Pax is always heating your load.

Hello my fellow Paxers!!

I haven't posted in a while but I have been keeping up with the thread. I just wanted to take a moment to say that I am still in love with my Pax. There was about a week and a half that I didn't clean Pax and even though it got dirty it didn't malfunction or disappoint. I will say, however, a clean Pax is a good yummie Pax!

I find it easier to clean it every day or every other day.

When I take Pax on field trips, I put it in my Messenger bag in a side pocket. I have been shopping around for a accessory bag for it and I really like the suggestions that have been posted.

Gotta run, getting medicated and fading out!

hey guys, thought i'd share an unfortunate experience i just had.

so, I removed the stem from the mouthpiece using pliers to attach it to vinyl tubing for a makeshift bong (as ILoveCollege showed in previous posts), and I ended up reinserting the stem into the mouthpiece with the small sliding part that separates them - the incorrect direction. this caused one scary sight, as the mouthpiece became stuck deeper than it should be when I reinserted it into the pax. I ended up having to pry it out through the vapor path of the mouthpiece using a small pair of scissors, and tore the mouthpiece completely apart in the process.

just a warning to anyone who attempts to remove the stem from the mouthpiece so that history doesn't have to repeat itself

How light is the abv? I dont have a pax but mine is very dark brown hints of black and theres nothing left unless you use alot and need sleep. Thats at 380-400 degrees

My rule on ABV, if it's got any green/gold/light brown color, it's still got a bunch of actives in it. If it's dark brown/black like coffee grounds, I'd say there may be some actives left, but most of the desirables are gone, and the smell/taste is much less desirable than the light colored ABV which has more of a honey smell, than a burned popcorn smell. Of course, this is just my method of determining if my ABV is worth re-using or not. I still keep the darker ABV in a jar, not sure what I plan to do with it though.

Great questions! The corked bottles work best for me for a couple reasons. First, they allow me to store the poker by pushing it into the cork where it can seat for storage and be removed easily. The major reason though is that it is the only vial that doesn't have a lip. All the screw-top vials have a lip that makes it more difficult and more messy to tap out herbs. The herbs tend to get bunched up and clogged at the lip and you have to then use a poker to get it flowing. I wanted something where the herbs could slide out easily with minimal hassle. As for amber, if they had that type in amber, I would get it, but they don't. Really, though, I keep them stored inside the black bag at all times, so light infiltration should not be an issue. I have not noticed them smelling at all, certainly not more than a capped bottle. The cork contains the smell.

They are the best vials I have found in terms of easy use and proper size and style.

Yea Lol. I put a green sticker on the battery cover for my phone. I have no idea on where to put the rest, but thanks for bringing it up. The sticker is a transparent peel off, only the ploom X shows with the logo.

I am in need one of those snazzy mouthpiece adapters with the tubing because I'll never make one myself. Anybody willing to barter? I got stickers.
