Discontinued Thermovape Alpha Ultralite

Quetzalcoatl

DEADY GUERRERO/DIRT COBAIN/GEORGE KUSH
Hi friends,

It's been 3 days now since TV charged me for the DART. That was Monday morning, early, around 10am if I recall. It's going to be Thursday tomorrow, and I'm kinda bummed that it hasn't shipped yet! When I got my Ultra, it only took 30 hours from when I got my confirmation email until I got my tracking number. I know it says "please allow 3 days for processing"... but I want it now

Anyways, did any of you get a shipping email yet? I know someone else said they've been checking every hour, like I am... who else is in the club? Membership's free :brow:

I was told mine would be shipping in the next few days... so maybe there was some kind of delay?? Can't speak for TV on the matter. I did not get a shipping notice yet, but I did get order confirmation email. I would just be patient, they will be along soon I'm sure.

Oh, I forgot to mention, maybe they're waiting to sell the whole lot of 50 before they ship?

@jamband I know, but I'm getting VAS the more time I spend on here! And I've only got two vapes!!

I doubt they'd wait to ship as a lot due to orders coming in. Rather, I'm thinking everyone (it's a small outfit after all) is really busy on the Cera effort so they may be planning a 'shipping party' soon? Not a reason to unduly delay things of course, but unduly is kind of subjective, really. In a way we've all been spoiled in recent years what with fast shipping, instant notification and tracking at our fingertips.....or so we expect.

And I surely hope you don't think you're alone with VAS by association? You've got a lot of company. Say, you don't suppose the delays are intentional to get you to come back here again and again for 'boosters'?

OK, flashback time, everyone turn your vaporizers around, go to profile, and in best "Laugh in" style repeat after me, "Verrrry intereeesting"......

I got my Ultra + rewired LV HP Evo today :D I have sucessfully run it on the Ultra and got a few good hits so far. Decided not to tax the battery, so it's charging now.

I stuck some black 1" high heat silicone tubing on the outside as a skin, and it's helping quite a bit with the heat and the grip.
Here's the Ultra/HP LV Evo w/ tubing next to the T1... should prove to be a nice quick pocket vape for sure. Looking forward to getting to know this little guy! :D

**BTW the HP LV Evo is working great, it's got about a 10-15sec heat up from cold, about half of the original Evo, so far so good. Very glad to get that done!!

That's really awesome... I also have an Ultra and Evo LV, but they don't get used much. I think I'll send TET an email about getting my core rewired. Thanks for the inspiration. :)

It does get pretty hot after a few hits, so I would say this is a great one for two or three good puffs then pocket before it really starts to heat up. If you are in a situation where you can openly use it and let it cool down between hits, that would be ideal too. I will be using it a bit to see how long the battery lasts, and how many decent hits I can get per charge... not that this is very relivant since the gear is being closed out, but it might be for anyone who has it. I would not expect any other regular LV EVO to work as well, as this one barely makes the cut before getting too hot. In addition to the silicone tube skin, I added a grip tape thumb pad, the heat was just way too much to take on bare skin.

Two or three good puffs is all I need. I've paired the EVO LV with the Ultra a couple of times, but didn't get much success with it, and didn't try anymore since I had a better alternative.

Would you please tell me where you purchased the silicone tube skin you used?

Thanks

I ordered from http://www.mcmaster.com/#catalog/116/121/=kdu76l

1 5236K482 2 Ft. High-temperature Silicone Rubber Tubing, Soft, 5/8" Id, 3/4" Od, 1/16" Wall, Black

Three good solid hits, and it gets pretty warm, so that's not too bad for stealth purposes...even 2 good rips might be more than enough if you are out in a very tight, limited situation. I rarely need these levels of stealth anymore living in Eugene and all, but once in a while it happens. I am very happy with the Ultra so far.

My only concern at this point, is that some times my switch doesn't seem to fire when pushed up, so I have to switch it up and down a couple of times to get connection. I pulled the spring button out of the adapter head and checked it to make sure it was seated properly, all looks good, might just be a trait of the Ultra to have a picky switch?? Or do I have a problem?

Update... on hit #7 of one load, I can tell it's starting to strain to get up to temp, but that's not bad. I hit it 3 times, then it started getting hot, so I let it cool a few mins. then got hit 4 and 5, then it was hot again, so I let it cool, now I just took hit 6 and 7, much smaller, but still visible vapor and definitely feel it working. This is getting close to the same hit count I was pulling off a 6v T1, because it would also get too hot after 2-3 pulls, and i would generally drain the batteries around 7-10 hits depending on the situation and which set of Lifepo4s I had in use which was a mixed bag. Hit #8 attempted, but it just got warm, not hot enough to vape...ABV is pretty even and golden brown...so there you have it. I would call this one 5-7 hit load per charge on the HP Evo that I have. Now, I don't know if there is anything different from my HP LV Evo than the others that went out...

I can imagine this battery giving the LV dart a longer run time since it's juice requirements are lower. I need to make more oil at the moment so can't really test that one out. Now I can see the benefit of loading a very potent load in the HP Evo (add some hash or kif) so it really packs a punch for the hit count, and we have a seriously stealthy pocket vape that should hold up a long time. Very cool!

Boy this HP LV Evo is one tricky little sucker! just a hair too long on the switch and your are combusting. I have had a bit of trouble with the switch not firing. I have done the usual routine, took out the spring/button part, checked it all out, reseated it... I thought I had a bad battery, but it turns out it's ok, and the switch just wasn't activating. I am hoping to get some word on what I can do about that... When I do get it to fire, it's running just fine. Must be a picky switch.

Nice find Sunset! Thanks for sharing. That stuff is going to be hard to find soon, so if you are on the fence, get it now!! Good price on that too.

Can you tell if this ultra or ultralite? It seems extremely small. But it uses 14500 battery.

Thx,

Sunset

Now you know why they backed it down in Beta testing. It's a tool for experts for sure, but a powerful one handled carefully.

I'd ask for another switch, flaky ones happen (it seem like maybe it's the biggest 'legit' problem?). As you might guess lots of 'defective' stuff returned is not really. The box of failed cores of all types I saw had less than two dozen units (out of many thousands). But that simple switch, well designed as it is, seems to be the most common problem?? Notice it's been designed out? I did.....

Yup, yer right. Not much different. More bigger in diameter than taller. It's basically an AA size battery or AAA size inside. Unless you really need bitty, the Ultra is the call IMO. A very handy little gadget. Much smaller in the pocket than say Omicron....which it out performs by a fair bit. I tried running the standard Evolution on mine, the Ultra Lite gets 'about one and a half hits', I bet the HP version doesn't clear one?

Thanks for checking in, I guess we shouldn't expect much from you during the honeymoon period?

Good luck with it, it's a good one for sure.

I tried a little splat of oil... so glad I got it. Getting some quality wax on Tuesday possibly, we'll see... use of it will be limited for now.

I'd like to report back. I got some quality concentrate to sample, and decided that since it looked good enough, it would go in the DART. This was after two hits.

pzrT7.jpg

One word.

Done.

I run the dabber in a line in the dish, then back, and form a little ball with the wax. Push it in, 5 seconds later starting to get some great vapors. I was so impressed with it, I kept going... and going... and going... I don't know how I'm going to get out of this chair and into my bed.

Good news, but hardly surprising to many of us who have tried that particular test before.....

And one other tip, extensive testing has shown it's not really necessary to get out of the test chair to catch 40 winks. Or more.

In fact in some circles it's considered traditional to do so....

got mine as well. they were short one in the package (twice that's happened now), but in usual TV fashion, they are on it on sending me a new one. i wanted one wired SV anyway and forgot to ask until they shipped so i kinda got lucky and they are rewiring one for me that should be on it's way to me today.

See, yet another example of that charmed life you lead......

Face it Bob, you are special. That short bus thing wasn't an accident.

Holy cow, I just put the T1 3.7v core on the Ultra (w/glass top) and so far I am getting really good results. I have not used it this way long enough to know hit count or how long the battery will hold up, but a 15 sec. warm up, and it's going strong so far. Very cool. I also discovered that the O ring ( http://www.amazon.com/Danco-11-O-Ri...TF8&colid=347LC4A6UYZBC&coliid=I2MNX6W6Y9YKNG ) I was given to use on my Solo to tighten the stems once they get loose, fits the T1 core, and allows you to pop the regular threaded cap on the core in the same way you can put the glass top on w/ the orange O ring. Fun times tinkering with the old TV gear while waiting for the Cera to be released.

**reminder, I have silicone tubing over my Ultra as an insulator, so I can let it get pretty hot...and some grip tape as a thumb pad.

*** So far I was able to vape one med. load and did not run out of battery power.

****got most of the way through a second load when it started to loose power, so I will guess that a pretty full load on this T1 3.7v + fresh charged battery should give a pretty good session. I will just have to test this on the next round.

Wait, you're doing flower with the Ultra? How neat... and here I am doing concentrates with the DART... I've been meaning to look into other flower vapes anyways...
