how do you clean the bowl of your solo?

have bought a used solo and the stainless steel bowl is black/burnt inside. Tried to clean it with iso, but no luck.

I use a q-Tip dabbed in ISO - gently clean the surface area like your cleaning your ears while the units warm with out putting too much ISO on the tip. You definitely don't want to soak it to a point where moisture can get in the air flow holes. I've never had to go any further than that. Now if the prior owner had oils in there it may be a different story.

Well I found a new use for my solo today. When I first got it I asked here what that stupid potpourri bowl was for cause the dry flowers they send don't work. The consensus was that it is just for show and the guise of aroma therapy. Well I went out yesterday and bought a bottle of spearmint essential oil for the ssv. I pulled out the silly bowl for the solo and tried it. It worked great. I am really happy cause now I can bring that with me to a hotel and have the room smell nice and hide whatever other smell may linger. I am about to go put it on in my living room to give it a nice smell to instead of zero smell.

I tossed my potpourri bowls (with both my m102 & m105) after trying it with the dry 'stuff' (?) they sent with it figuring it was just as previously mentioned, a guise. Too bad I didn't still have them to try with the liquid oils (never thought of THAT duhhh), as I'm always burning incense or liquid scent burners.

Mine was in the box on my bed so it was just easy to try it. I bought a few herbs to try and vape so bought that as well. I bought mint herb and really didn't make my room smell good at all so I tried the EO in the solo since I don't have the aroma top yet and it worked great. I am guessing the aroma top will be better but this a great hotel thing which is what I actually bought it for. It is becoming my favorite quickly.

I doubt the solo will ever beat my INH just for the mere fact that ever time I turn around I have to charge it. I have charged it twice between yesterday and today and it isn't even dinner time yet. With the INH I don't even think about charging it. I forget all the time and no issue. I haven't charged it since two days ago but I will have to today.

i asked the same question and i was told to toss the bowl too... i'm a pack rat sometimes so i didn't. i still have the little bowl and the bag of stuff that came in the box too

Well it really isn't funny cause I am a packrat too and since moving am way better. I try and not let any paper in my house cause I won't throw it out. I make my caregiver check the garbage. I almost had her empty a vacuum cause I couldn't find a dumb cheap screen and one day the poker for the ssv. I don't like to lose stuff. I am seriously way better but need to clean the garage cause it still has all the packrat stuff from where I used to live. I obviously don't need most of it. I do let people shop in my house so that helps. I give stuff away all the time but I can't throw stuff out or give it away if not appreciated. I gave a lot away this month, pat self on back...

PV sells water pipes as well. Might as well get the PV GonG and a nice bubbler from them and take advantage of the free shipping. Otherwise if you are looking a higher quality then go to ALT.

Can you REALLY taste/smell the metal? You either have some really sensitive senses there mate or you are confusing it with a side-effect of your unique vaping "scenario". That's also the reason I don't really agree with Vito on the taste aspect as after many comparative sessions I have come to the conclusion it all depends on the temp, amount of load, way of packing and technique of inhaling. The taste of the INH as well as the Solo can range from horrible to heavenly depending on all these factors and also if there is a bubbler/bong involved in the process and what kind of bubbler/bong that is and how it's utilized. So many factors...

2 more points to add : 1. if flower was not washed well it can lead to bad taste and also if you're keeping the stem in all the time that will also cause the taste to drop fast.

It is Sunday Funday, and I have a couple of dirty Solo stems. Unfortunately I only have almond milk... can I just use my morning coffee to melt the oil in?

My m103 has finally starting chipping the ceramic around the top. Does anyone know what the consensus on this was like a year ago when everyone started reporting it? I semi to recall the company saying it was harmless and there for aesthetics, but I cant recall what the community thought. I would go back and look, but with 400+ pages the task seems a bit daunting. I'll probably keep using it either way, this thing is still a champ and the battery is still going strong.

I fell into the chipping hype, yet with the m105 replacement robo fart I just kept on using my m102 with it's chipping issue and continue to wake up every morning just fine

The chipping isn't anything to worry about according to arizer. Although if you want warranty replacement on it they will make you send it back to get one of the new models. Whereas back when it first started they just sent you a new one and let you keep the old one. That is no longer the case.

Good to hear, Im not really that concerned but it's good to hear others aren't bothered either. It never happened with the two hole stems but when I got a newer four hole it was a much tighter fit, so I'm figuring that has to be what finally did it.

Following up: the coffee idea didn't get the stems super clean, but it made my coffee taste peculiar. We'll see if there's anything to this in another hour or so :S.

I think you would have realized a 'better' result had you did it with hot chocolate made with milk as the fats in the milk become infused and extract much better from the glass IMO.

Indeed. It's not that the fat is necessary to get the effect, but the oil ends up sticking on the glass quite a bit with the coffee.

Next time, I'll run to the store and grab some milk.
