Discontinued The Palm by Vaporblunt

yes i think the acrylic or glass part would be fine and i have found many on the internet. But the hard part would be putting it in. The way the Palm is designed i do not see a way that i could insert one back in there. Right now i am using a vinyl tube and the glass end as a whip, but would really like to fix it completely. any suggestions?

First off, it's 1/4 OD, an easy size to deal with. You're right in that the ceramic block is glued in and would have to come out to put the tube in as it's built. This would also trash the screen (which you should be able to get a replacement for since the maker considers it an expendable).

I see two ways to address it if I was in your spot. First off is to drill the 'smoke hole' in the front of the unit out to .250 so you can slip a new tube in from the front. It looks 'doable' to me. The other way is to do it with a two piece tube glued back together in place. Acrylic plastic solvent cements easily, this would be a little more difficult and also prevents using glass. I'd probably drill it out.

Tell you what, I've got some .250 Acrylic tube, PM me and I'll mail you a couple of pieces long enough to do the job. You get to cut it to length as I'm not sure exactly what that is.

This part of the palm really annoys me. It doesn't happen often but for the life of me I don't know why we didn't design it easier to change when it breaks. Hindsight is always 20/20. Anyhow, I would be happy to provide you with a brand new palm for $45 plus shipping if you would like to mail yours back into me. We have changed the design to be replaceable but they will not be out until sometime next year. send me a PM if you want to replace your palm at the discounted rate. I wish I could do more.

I just noticed this, it's actually kind of old news. The OP did a great job replacing the glass tube with some 1/4 OD Acrylic tube I sent him. He used some sandpaper around a stick to open the end of the hole up round and slipped the tube in from the mouthpiece end. The mouthpiece covers it when installed. He sent me a couple of good photos of the job, well done. He was going to post it here but I guess he got sidetracked once he got his Palm going again.....

Palm 2.0 has no glass tube, and it's half the size. It no longer looks like a pipe. I actually took a lot of your input to the table on this one, so thank you. Expect yours to arrive within a week or two. I'm starting to feel like the FC Santa Claus

Oh, no! More keen new stuff to test? Where will it ever end? Work, work, work......

In a (rare) serious note, thank you very much for the vote of confidence in both your new product and me. You know I'm going to honestly report what I find, good, bad or indifferent. This speaks well of you confidence of the improved design....given what you just did with the new VB I think you're justified in that confidence. I'm really looking forward to the improved version.

Half the size? That's not even a handful, Palm was pretty small to start with. Cool.

Thanks very much.

Actually I just wish you would lie and say you love everything and it's the greatest and I'm the new Steve Jobs! But the fact that everyone who has ever read a post from you knows there is no chance in hell you wouldn't give your real opinion makes you a great tester. I do enjoy reading your reviews, even though it takes me an hour to look up the definitions of at least half of the words :) Keep up the good fight OF, I know it's a tough job but someone has to bite the bullet.

Thanks very much.

I am in a real reflective mood this morning. I am using the palm 2.0 and making sure its ready to reveal (yes I vape at 6 am) and I couldn't help but think about the last year. The original vb was launched around thanksgiving last year. In 12 short months we have developed 4 vaporizers, we have balled out in vegas at the CHAMPS show twice while promoting this brand, we went to San Fran and did the cup. I've failed, I've learned, I've succeeded. However this movie ends, when the credits role I will be proud if what we have done.

I have made friends who I have never met (yes, I'm talking about you), I have lost friends that I seen every day (RIP). I have made new life long friends i met on our engineering team all while Aggonizing over details with my ears open to criticism. I have struggled to adapt into a new business that I had no mentor or previous experience in, yet here I am. So wether or not you like my products or you hate them, I would like to share that I would not have traded this experience for any amount of money and I appreciate each and every person who has taken time to tell me what they think about our work.

We sit on the verge of the launch of the revisions of the VB and Palm, and as I await the fate of these 2.0's I can guarantee you one thing, we have given all we have to this project. I have said on the forum many of times this isn't about money, it's about leaving our small footprint in this world. So, Thank you. Thanks for all of the advice, thanks for all of the criticism. Thank you for all of the PM's of condolences in the last 2 weeks. Thank you to every single person who has ever purchased a VB made product.

I just derailed my own thread, but sometimes you have to stop and tell those around you how you feel or you may never have a chance to, again thank you. To quote Terrell Owens "Get your popcorn ready" because this movie just started. I hope you like it.

Give yourself a day of TRVB, you've earned it and it's a long haul still ahead as you know.

The Chinese say 'it's easy to open a shop, not so to keep it open'. To be standing in any form a year later is a victory, pure and simple.

I've really enjoyed working with you and having you on the forum, trvb. You have brought, among other things, two new things to this forum...a manufacturer that is turning out new vapes like mad, and a designer that truly wants the good and bad criticism without getting defensive. I find you to be unique, refereshing and a good shot of just what this industry needs. Thanks!

Sorry its been so long since I have posted. Thank you again OF for the acrylic tubing you sent me, just been busy with school and enjoying the "palm" in my free time! The installation was very easy with your expertise in this area and I really appreciate the tubing (managed to create a makeshift whip with the extras :) ). The palm has been working great although i have noticed a lack of power recently. Not sure if this is my batteries wearing out on me or if I need to get some new mesh screens. Any ideas guys?

I am interested in checking out the 2.0 model to see the improvements also

mod note: Please avoid back-to-back posts, use Edit instead. Two posts merged.

You're very welcome, glad to hear it and you are doing well!

When you get a chance you might post the story and photo you sent of the repair job, I'm sure other owners would enjoy knowing more.

V2 seems a different beast, I had some more success earlier today but haven't nailed it down yet.....

Thanks for the update.

I will definitely post my success story after this exam week!

So do you think the recent lack of power in my palm has to do with the batteries losing strength? I don't really think its the screen, but still could be possible. What do u think?

I wanted to dig mine out and check carefully, but I don't think it's screen related, too many redundant connections for that?

Leaving battery/charger next...

How sudden did this come on? Is the light normal?

I would say it was very gradual. When I first purchased the Palm from the store the batteries I found to be very strong and would actually combust/burn the "mix" if held down too long (I really liked the power when I first got it). Now in order to get an alright draw I have to hold it in for like 10+ seconds at a time and the vaped matter does not turn as dark as it used to. The light still shines but I feel like the batteries die a lot faster than they used to. I always make sure they are fully charged b4 each use.

Sounds like battery to me too. Unfortunately it's the early not late part of the cycle that is the first to go. That is if it went 4 minutes new, you're left with minutes 3 and 4 not 1 and 2 when it's 'half gone'.

This is a very demanding job for it, we seriously abuse them.....all in the name of good, of course....

Haha you got that right! do you have any recommendations on replacement batteries I should order. The NimH ones I got from lowes wouldn't fit right for some reason. The top part (nipple) of the battery seemed a littler larger than the ones that came with my vape and couldn't even get the light to shine with it. I think the O ring on the inside didn't have a big enough O in the middle for it to fit.
Do u think these would be alright?
