Regarding edibles being healthier than vaping, keep in mind that when you use edibles, it has to be processed by your liver, so that while vaping may introduce some wear and tear on your respiratory system, edibles may put some wear and tear on your liver.

I agree, i have thought about the liver damage but i haven't read about it and haven't searched either. :)

Your almost there. Your liver has to process all foreign toxins, whether it be from vaping, combusting or edibles. It may be the case that edibles contain more of the plant so they have more toxins, but its hard to say because you normally extract the herb into a solution.

But your liver also converts THC into something completely different than what you get from vaping or combusting, eh?

Negative. THC is THC. No matter how it enters your body. It must be decarboxalized so it can inhibit your brain. You can achieve the results in many different ways.
But your liver still has to do work to filter it out. Its all the other crap that comes along with it that we are worried about.

I believe you're wrong on this. When THC is eaten, your liver transforms all of it into 11-hydroxy delta 9 THC which is quite a bit different than the delta 9 THC that you primarily get when you vape or smoke it and is the primary reason why when eaten, the high is quite a bit different and is a LOT more psychoactive.

But hey, I'm open to learn something new, so if I'm wrong on this, please explain.

Interesting, but does your liver have to process the THC first before it effects your brain? I don't think so, that is why inhalation is preferred for its quick response.
What about topicals? Tinctures? Reclaimed resin that has all ready been transformed into a usable product? That would certainly be the same product that you inhale. Absorption can be achieved via external skin, internal digestive and air pathways.
Maybe when you decarb THC in different ways it produces a slightly different substance. But that does not mean edibles do not contain the same substance.
When I cook with ready to go THC I get a faster buzz. But I normally don't cook pretty bud so can't really compare.
So many questions and not enough studies.

I've read the same about the liver converting it into another isomere.
since the blood from you intesrtines all passes the liver before anything else, I would suspect this effect only with eaten cannabis but not with topicals etc. (well, unless you eat the topical or tincture)

Anything that is burned is bad for you. It's said that even the burnt parts of toast and steak are carcinogenic and can cause cancer. So if vaping eliminates the burning, it has to be a hell of a lot healthier far beyond the tar levels.

All I can say is that I feel much better when I vape, compared to smoking. If I smoke a few days in a row I develop smoker's cough. If I vape every day, I don't cough, I feel good and can breather normally. I'd say that is enough proof to say that vaporizers are definitely healthier then smoking.

As for other things like "water filtration" please provide proof, before furthering hand me down garbage.

Oftentimes, things are repeated so many times that everyone knows them, and water filtration is a perfect example.

I guess you meant to compare fog to liquid water instead.

If that's the case then i'd answer it's still water but as tiny droplets so light they float in the air, making fog an ideal companion for cannabic vapor it seems...

I believe vaporized water is among the 1st components to leave a bowl... But please, allow some time for me to check it out again, just to make sure!

I have to meditate on this: which is it of the addition of moisture, the removal of heat or a combination of both that makes it work for me?

It sounds like what they are calling tar is just the essential oils of the plant being burned when you vape at a higher temperature then they boil at. This is why you want to start real low in temperature( 152f or 200f) and slowly raise the temperature as this will help prevent degradation of these oils. Vaporizing is so wonderful because you can control the heat to release substances in their pure form, and feel the effects much faster then eating, while still preventing your body from absorbing toxic substances, but you need a vaporizer with good heat stability and accuracy. Eating is still the best but you have to know how to eat properly to gain any benefits.
Rite on... i like to ease into vaporization myself... the idea is the low temp canabinoids dont degrade in the process... i try to raise my temp little by little as vapor thins out, getting a full spectrum vape.. ha.. but ya eating is the best ha... wen done proper of course...;)

Also, i eat herb pretty often and never thought of it as much of an impact on my liver... never crossed my mind hahha... good point though

my bud i usually bonedry when i vape it (have some buds laying around for half a year or more before i vaped them with no intent to keep them moisturized) so it's not water if you ask me. After a few puffs, the bud turns brown, if any water content was in it at the start, surely it's gone by this point, but the vapor density remains the same. I might be wrong, but i'd be really surprised if much/any water is still present.

Using kind of simple logic here, If vaporization were to be causing a lot of tar surely this would fill up and be rather sticky on the wand after vaping for a while as opposed to it just filling up with gorgeous powdery wandhash

Also it is not water vapor that you are breathing in it is the oils/resin you are vaporizing and this vapor can dehydrate/dry your lungs i hear although I have never experienced any problems as a part time vaper part time combuster

I'd strongly advise any eventual visitors to pay some special attention to what's going on bewteen level #7 and level #8!! It may not seem obvious but i can identify 4 different types of filtration taking place in this installation:

3/4 - Particles get trapped by stainless steel filter & sticky surfaces
4/5 - Particles stick to the bag's internal membrane
5/6 - Water captures the rest
7/8 - Fog would condensate over particles if present (an hypothesis)

I found this thread a really interesting read. I just can't believe that vaping is as damaging as smoking for the reasons already brought up. Like everyone else, I certainly feel healthier when not smoking, particularly throughout my respiratory system.

Similarly, I can't believe that ecigs are as bad for you as traditional cigarettes. I take it the same principal applies?

like a lot of peeps here i feel healthier when vaping, i have asthma and i noticed a massive change when i made the vape switch, no wheezing or tight chested feelings and no phlegm. Thats what i know and feel so i guess thats what i will stick with as there is no way i could give up the MJ
