Not sure if this is a serious question, but no, no charger involved. Just the unit, you supply the 18650s and charger yourself, or buy them separately from TV when you order. You should order a USB powered 18650 charger if that's what you need, I forget were I got mine from but a google search found it.

Not a serious question (hence the tongue smiley), but a big minus for me. OK, not so big since you said there are USB powered 18650 chargers to cater for the outdoor enthusiasts (solar chargers etc), but still a lot messier than a built in USB charger. I understand this would not be possible given the mechanical nature of the Cera but on the other hand it is not so mechanical now that it includes a LED button accessory eeh? ;) How about a third bottom switch (little longer maybe) that would include a microUSB hole? :science:

Sorry, but i guess I'm the only one still not impressed.

Especially if i have to draw for 30 seconds just to produce those few wisps of vapor.

It's a little obvious that he is drawing as long as he can before he turns blue.

I never have to take such a long draw on any of my vaporizers to start producing vapor.

Just for an example, a five second draw off my Pax on high produces more vapor that makes me cough my brains out.

I hate being the only biased one here. But i guess someone has to be.

I am who I am and your approval isn't needed!
I'm glad it's stated that the device can be sipped at... however, I would have like to have seen the vapor following that task but he started talking instead.

I know for myself there is no way in hell I could pull a long slow continuous draw, as my lungs/bronchs just couldn't handle it personally.

I'm very interested in this device, but the 'close' for me will be the oil & e-juice function to make it a warranted all in one device I desire especially considering the price and definitely considering the total investment of attachments to make it an all in one.

Frankly, I'd like to see (should the other option additions work well), an 'All In One' KIT option available to allow a simple purchase with a minimal discounted price for purchasing all three together at once the same way other products (non vape), offer.

I really do hope the other attachments work without issue because I already own separate perfect (for me) devices that individually handle loose herb, BHO/Qwiso concentrates, and e-liquids.

So, I stand on the fence still at this point for those above reasons alone. Ok.. that, and being of a lets say 'mature' age & too frugal to essentially be a new release consumer level beta tester.

Based on the experience of T1 and other TV products it should be quite easy and rare.
OF
I could not agree more. I have had my T1 for a year now, and have boiled it one time (due to keif falling into the core). I will soak the mouthpiece once a month or so in iso, but I never touch the bowl, other than to wipe out the dust. My bowl still looks brand new and shiny.

Compared to the other vapes I have experience with, the T1 and the Evo are the lowest maintenance vapes I own. Other than using them, I feel like I never have to touch them maintenace wise.

I just purchased a MFLB, and it is a cool little vaporizer, and quite stealthy, but I still prefer my T1 for out and about. I use ecig mods, and the T1 looks so much like an ecig mod I feel comfortable taking rips anywhere.

As far as I am concerned, a convection vape is still the way to go. The flavor from a convection vape is so much cleaner tasting. I need to work up some extra cash, but a Cera with illuminated switch is in my near future. The thought of a convection vape that yeilds 45 minutes of run time and puts out killer clouds as shown in the video makes me all tingley inside.

Thank you for all your hard work OF, I have been watching this thread religiously (man it moves fast), I think Thermovape may have hit the nail on the head for building a vaporizer that could make me put all my others away for a while.

Be looking for my order soon TIm, I think I am going to see what kidneys are worth on the open market.

I had a rough night of sleep, tossing and turning trying to ponder the newest question in my mind about Cera. I would like a better understanding of the toggle. (or the term toggle on and off) Especially if that is only related to the power button on the bottom. I understand it has both the main power button and the "safety". If I understand correctly Cera has some great heat retention if you can "toggle" it off for a few minutes and then key it on and go right back to where you left off...

I was wondering if the safety switch had a function like this or is it just a cut off so that it does not get turned on accidentally or if that safety can be used to restart the heater. How long would it take to get back up to temp right after an interruption.

Also OF, your comment about clouds so thick that they could break off and crush your toe is very Kenneth Patchen-esque. Are you familiar with his work? It could be one of the reasons I appreciate your style of reporting...

Forgetting bud entirely. Fill the bowl with bubble, put in a fresh battery and vape all day. Brush it out, refill, change battery and repeat the next day.
Really? Lots of my bubble hash likes to melt and liquify, doesn't it go in the heater core holes?

Sorry, but i guess I'm the only one still not impressed.

It's a little obvious that he is drawing as long as he can before he turns blue.

I still think that seems to be its' only drawback, and maybe the pimple slide switch, but I like the body material and over-engineering, I just think there should be some way of getting some "over-performance" out of it too...

There you go, it really is a serious question then. And a legitimate one. It's a feature that could have been designed in, but as you point out it's a radical change of technology for TV. And from a practical POV it needs to have been designed in from the start, no add on tail switch is going to work. Nor is the planned light any real signal about potential possibility for the same reason it turns out.

Between you and I I don't think the light is going to happen for the same reason you can't put a charger in an extended end cap....you don't have a connection to the rest of the circuit designed into the basic body. To make a light work you need to have a connection to the 'hot' end of the heater (above the safety switch) so you 'know' what's going on on the other side of that switch. Likewise to charge the battery in place you'd need a connection to the battery plus, the bottom end of that same safety switch, same problem, no physical way to tap it off nor any available conductor to carry the signal down to the cap. You could get fancy and get the charger to work by charging through the cart (provided it's in) and having the owner turn the safety switch off (to 'run') for charging if you were to put some serious switching in that new cap and repurposed the existing conductor up the inside of the ceramic tube.

Best plan is, I think, to go with an outside charger of your choice. Or carry a second battery?

Good luck in your purchase decisions.

Sorry, but i guess I'm the only one still not impressed.

I hate being the only biased one here. But i guess someone has to be.

I can't wait for the real reviews from the members who don't have a relationship with ThermoEssence.

OK, I get it, you like PAX which is fine. I don't consider that biased as much as opinionated (IMO a big difference). I don't think anyone has to be biased if they don't want to about stuff like this, but if you want to be the 'only one' fine I guess?

What I don't like is your inference that I'm biased and being anything less than honest with my efforts. HOW DARE YOU SAY MY EFFORTS ARE NOT "REAL"?????

this is not your average ceramic. it only comes in white. you could always wrap it with something if you want another color.

the price of the vape is for the vape itself. you can add cells and a charger to your order if you want.

Well thanks a lot OF....pretty sure i am gonna be buying a Cera next. I might even just use it for a bubble hash rig

So the test on bubble were done with the 12w core right? Curious to see what a 20% increase in power does for herb with the insulating capacity that cera has i would think smaller changes in power should be able to affect performance pretty dramatically.

Tough to follow for sure. Let me take a lash at it.

First off 'toggle' as a switch term is not being correctly used. Toggle switches are 'bat or paddle' handle switches like the traditional wall light switch (which in a fun way started life as a push button.....). The operator mechanically moves the actuator from one spot to another. What we have on the base is technically a 'push-push' (sometimes called 'alternate action') pushbutton, as opposed to a momentary one like your doorbell. Toggle, as used by TV, is really an English term for changing conditons. As in 'toggling back and forth'.

The safety switch is generally referred to as a slide switch in these sorts of terms if you really care.

Enough of that level of trivia, the insight with the system is you have two simple switches in series. This creates 'the logical AND configuration', that is you get a positive (heat) when both the push button in the base and the slide switch allow it. Of the four possible states of those two switches only one will 'work'. If you turn it off with either (yes, you can 'toggle power' with either) the other can't turn it back on no matter. Logically there are also OR and EXCLUSIVE OR configurations possible, the latter being the one where you can turn it off with one and on with the other (like the light switches at the top and bottom of the stairs.

No, sorry, don't know the fellow nor his works (I think). As I've got a couple dozen books on my Kindle yet to get through (and they pile up faster than they get taken care of.....nothing like the national debt of course, but along those lines....). I'm glad it amuses you, of course, that's the idea. Otherwise this stuff can be pretty dry. No, wait, make that 'a lot dryer', it's plenty dry already for most anybody.

Thanks.

Really? Lots of my bubble hash likes to melt and liquify, doesn't it go in the heater core holes?

I still think that seems to be its' only drawback, and maybe the pimple slide switch, but I like the body material and over-engineering, I just think there should be some way of getting some "over-performance" out of it too...

Yeah, really. No melting in. I found no evidence and I looked real carefully. Not a trace in the bore of any of the holes. My take is convection did it's job and roasted the trichomes from the outside in and trapped the runny stuff in place until the temperature got to be too much for it.....when it 'flew away' to the waiting user in this case. I only tried one strain of bubble, but this grade is pretty uniform IME. I would not think full melts and 'sorta melts' would be the same automatically, they may need a bed of bud or other measures.

I'm not sure how I feel about the slide switch, thus far it hasn't been a problem for me. If it becomes a big deal there's a simple change they could make that would take it out (changing the shaft lengths so it doesn't stick out and can't move) that could happen if demand was high and the will was there.

I have some high hopes it can be pushed to "over performance" (liking the term right off...), I managed to get there by mistake once and have seen evidence it's possible to approach through the techniques above. Today is the day to look into that. I can't test with fingers crossed, how about you do that for me?

How huge I can make those clouds remains to be seen, and no matter how big I fear it will still not be enough for some but if you push the design too far that way (more power, larger loads and so on) like other vapes do you have to give up control on the low end eventually as well?

Thanks for the thoughts and interest. I'm still seeing a lot of potential, but until I actually experience it that's all it is. When I have some results to report, for sure I will.

Well thanks a lot OF....pretty sure i am gonna be buying a Cera next. I might even just use it for a bubble hash rig

Hey, you and me both, brother. I have other vapes that do well with bud, but the bubble performance caught me a bit by surprise and really impressed me. I think they should label it a bubble hash cart and charge more...... When the dust settles a LOT more bubble is going to be tested there. It'll take a while, but I've got time.

Yes, this was the lower power (12 Watts nominal) of the two I have. I too think due to the nature of such things a small increase in power will bring big changes. I'm about to switch the cores and decide which bud gives it's all for science next. It may take a bit to form a coherent set of observations to convey, which is actually OK for me, but the information will get out as soon as it's in presentable form.

Thanks for the patients and good wishes.

Wow! I must be blind.

Or have some form of glaucoma.

I can't wait for the real reviews from the members who don't have a relationship with ThermoEssence.

I have to disagree with you here. Most consumers have some degree of objection when considering adopting a new technology. Objections are often a veiled indicator of interest (or a need for further convincing) If you have ever owned a ThermoEssence Vape you also have a relationship with ThermoEssence. So does anyone on this forum(or anywhere) that might inquire to TE about features, functions, etc. It is great that TE has a very committed presence on this forum as well! It is very much appreciated. I suppose it's possible that if you are a tester then you might have a better understanding (or a more direct line of contact) but in either case ThermoEssence is equally responsive to it's consumers whether they are testers or not. I for one would be more than satisfied with the vapor the Cera seems quite capable of producing. I also own a Pax and a VXC. I have had my ups and downs and skepticism from time to time, but overall I think these guys are delivering the goods. Not every product will satisfy every consumer's needs.

I guess it's okay to be a skeptic, but the whole point of this forum is for people to review products as they are tested. You might in the end decide to not make that purchase, but if anything that just means you are mostly pretty happy with the vapes you do use on a daily basis.

Allright, here is another vid showing the loose leaf Cera in action. This is going for denser vapor using a basic approach, fineer grind, firmer pack, and a couple of different inhalation techniques.

Let us know what you think, we are planning on moving on to perhaps a quick video of the Cera Losse Leaf using pressed concentrate, and then onto the Cera Essential Oil, and E-Liquid models.

So if anyione has anything about the Loose Leaf version of the Cera they would like to see in a video, please let us know and we may be able to get it in today.

Why would they put it up for pre-sale then? These guys seem smart enough to have tested something like this before going public... I would think about getting a Cera instead of the Inhalater I am already enjoying but it's a luxury class device for me that would cost more to do the same the INH does and with a couple or more drawbacks. No USB charging (more money for chargers), small load (personal preference), Cera eventually getting hot after some use (doesn't make it a party vape), not being black (so it's not so stealthy), ability of the INH to pre-pack, possibly better taste (as there were times some speck of weed would fall into the core and spoil the fun) and finally inability of Cera to pair with a water tool out-of-the-box (not sure though). Maybe it's all personal preferences but I had to point it out... :2c:

How important is it to leave the cap off for cooling? Is this just to prevent resin accumulation from the mouth piece and o-rings, meaning I would I just need more cleaning around the mouthpiece?

The ring illuminated switch is a done deal. That is the only light option we have offered/discussed. That is integral to the bottom button, very simple, reliable indicator light.

I'm sorry for voicing my opinion ( Thank you OF as usual for the clarification ). I'm sure i used the wrong word again. I'll just wait for that certain someone to chime in and correct me.

So here's what I'm guessing people want to read on this thread.

OMG the Cera looks totally awesome. I can't wait to get mine. I ordered the unobtainium model that was on sale for $999.99.

I also purchased there Zephyr battery that is suppose to last for all eternity and get more powerful the more i use it.

I apologize for the rant

Weiner Out!

I like the clouds in the vid but i produced clouds that big with my t1, with the help of the official power adapter ofcourse. Still may add cera to my collection eventually. But i have a question for TET are there any plans to make a black delrin shell that maybe snap together may be just over the main body i rather a black and white cera than an all white one.

The compressed-time part in the middle bothered me because we got no clue how long it actually was. Actually it's more than that, the fact it was necessary also bothered me. I could be wrong, but I got the impression it was necessary to cool the Cera down. If that's the case, that's a pretty short operating window. OF has posted that his got almost too hot to hold at one point. How long does it take before you have to put it down? How hot does it get anyway? I scanned this whole thread and couldn't find any mention of the maximum operating temperature it will reach. It'd be nice to know how hot both the bowl and the external surface can get.

Also, I think you need to either use a more typical draw pattern or get someone else to do the videos. That last hit, aside from a slight puff at around 20-25 second mark, was almost a minute long. You like 25-30 second hits, which is fine, but it's easy to get the impression that's what you have to do.

I don't much like this kind of video demonstration. They're heavily biased towards that big money shot where you show you got a huge cloud. Lots of us don't care if you can pull clouds, we want to know whether we can get low temperature tasty vapour. Of course that's hard to show in a video, and maybe the Cera isn't good at that anyway. Thinking about how it heats up and the limited control you have over the vapourizing temperature, I don't see how it could excel in that area.

What I don't like is your inference that I'm biased and being anything less than honest with my efforts. HOW DARE YOU SAY MY EFFORTS ARE NOT "REAL"?????

I don't think I'm the certain someone you were expecting, but I'm chiming in here anyway.

This thread is about the Cera, not OF and not you. There'll be no more sniping back and forth without consequences.
