Arizer Solo

i poured in enough milk that would go into a coffee cup and that was it
I tried this a couple weeks ago but i did something wrong for sure. The milk started to get clotty and with cream, and i couldn't remove all the resin out of the stem. Did i use too high of a temperature?
yes, you don't want to boil it at all, just get it hot enough to maintain a simmer until it gets hot enough to melt your hot chocolate. You'll know when it's ready when the milk sort of turns brown from the resin. that should be your signal that the resin has melted out of your stems. Carefully lift your stems out of the milk and check them out. If they are clear, you're ready to add your chocolate. If not, simmer a little longer.

This. A little butter or cream helps. I like to make two mugs - one hot, one cold for later.

Thanks for that hoptimum and kingofnull. DO you roll the stems around to not keep it in the same place always or it is not necessary?

I usually use a cotton swab after a quick iso wash, store the iso then evap and vape the cotton.

Really? my resin in the solo is so oily compared to the EQ where I need the glass to be really hot...so I don't have to use ISO because it all comes down nicely onto the fiber :)

Oh and I haven't realized that PVHES GoNG are in stock ... OMG - changed my turbo order :) ... but turbo gong or normal gong...ohhhh the choices...

what model dremel is that if i may ask that came with the diamond tool??
Dremel 3000. you could go with a cheaper one, level 2 speed is what i use which i think is 5,000RPM. which was a little to much but got the job done

Hot chocolate or clean in iso as usual?

Damn! That's when you clean?? I feel like a slob now... I usually wait until the oil starts dripping into the abv or downstem (regular vs. gong stems) to make coco

I'm a bit OCD with cleaning glass. Sometimes I let them get dirtier.

Could you list the 1st three if these GonG solo stems? in order please?
Sure. 18mm PVHES GonG, 14mm PV GonG (non-PVHES), 18mm PV GonG (non-PVHES).

So I am all of a sudden having trouble with my Solo. Just decided today that it wasn't going to work anymore. When I turn it on and set it to the correct temperature, the heat light will blink, and blink, and blink, but it never heats up. I turn it off and plug it in to charge, and its full battery. Any ideas on what maybe happening?

Haven't dropped it, haven't done anything to it that would cause some sort of malfunction.

Damn did I make a mistake...the 14mm PVHES means that the female joint is 14mm right?

For some reason I thought otherwise...to connect the HT to the solo I'd need 18mm gong now??

Damn, I just have to say it again...this little gal is awesome! I recall when I first saw these, I thought they looked suspect...they were calling it a portable and it looked so big and clumsy with the glass stem...but man, am I a convert! Still not really a portable in the sense of something I would jam down the street with, but for flopping on the couch or heading to a friends house, what a beauty! Solid build, fun and simple to use, and a great price at $160!...ahh well, I am probably preaching to the choir here :D

Hello,
I do not know if I am allowed to post to this forum as I am only on page 181 after about a month of reading! I for one agree
with others that this is far too long. I approve (like my approval was needed!!) of the wiki though.
I have had my solo for about 3 weeks now and like it quite a bit coming from the iolite. I got fed up with the noise of the thing.
I do find the 'oven' to be on the small side and this means I reload quite often. I also find the vapor quite hot and dry leading to
coughing fits. The speed at witch the solo is ready for use is very impressive.I got my solo from http://verdampftnochmal.de/ ,
Andreas is very helpful. http://verdampftnochmal.de/ are also autherised dealers in Germany, free EU shipping over 100E.
So any post without photos is boring, so here are some of what I am up to. I am new to the whole glass thing and am trying to
get going on the vapebong thing. I wrapped a damp cloth around the solo stem and secured with a rubber band. This is then
put on the down stem bit of the bong. Works good but cant seem to build up much vapor.
For some reason the insert image option will not work for me, sorry about having to put the links.... feel free to edit if you can
be bothered..

I also do the same as KingofNull and soak everything in ISO and then evaporate off onto some cotton (tested and there is nothing given off this cotton at full temp for 2 12 min cycles..). The last photo shown some cotton in the stem with a screen.

Having a little of an electronics background I found the dissected photos of the solo very interesting. I would really love to have the datasheet on the micrcontroller and see how I might reprogram the solo. Those open solder pads (5 in a row) look very inviting!

I look forward to further hacks and mods posted here and I am also looking for some sort of adapter for my vapebonging... Right now the only adapter I 'understand' is the magic flight lunch box water adapter but I would prefer glass on glass (but as I said I know nothing about the glass stuff, for eg are the 14 and 18mm the inside diameter? I am such a glass noob I can only suppose I have a14mm opening as my bong is so small....! )
Back to page 181......

welcome to the forum kigrass. I believe what you are looking for is the Solo Ground Glass on Glass Adapter...http://www.planetvape.ca/solo-ground-glass-on-glass-adapter.html
cheers

Got the solo this morning (model number M1A380XXXX), could also smell a light taste of robo fart.
Another problem is the really strong air restriction, in my opinion thats for sure not normal. Any ideas what i can do to get less air restriction? Its also very hard to put the stem (a four hole one) into the heating chamber. Im a little disappointed...

thanks VaporGuy, as I said I know nothing about all this glass stuff. I recently bought the glass gong (?) you see in the photo
and it seems perfect for my needs. Looking at some of the glass people attach their solo to it is really impressive, I did not even know this sort of this existed until seeing them in the videos. All of these waterfall type things is impressive.
For now I am ok with a bit of damp cloth and an elastic band, it does the job if looking a bit ghetto.
I will probably order the part you suggest when the stealth adapter becomes available, shipping to Europe and all that!
Thanks for the info, it is appreciated.
With people so enamored with their solo and then giving up their desktop vapes, if they are based in Europe I would be interested
in taking a desktop unit off their hands. My only vapeing experience has so far been with the iolite. A friend has a volcano but that
is in a different league and I am not a fan of the baloons...

Haha don't worry it will loosen up very fast...
Pull your stem just a little bit and you'll get better airflow...

Monti, You will need to heat the solo up to no.7 to 'burn' off any manufacturing residue, this is normal. Once this is done (I
ran mine on no.7 for 3 X 12 minute cycles then recharged) then when the solo is still hot you should be able to push a stem into
the opening. It gets easier from then on but the first time has everyone (including myself) worried about impaling yourself with a glass stem.

On a side note I got an email from Andre (at http://verdampftnochmal.de/ ) that he will soon stock some 'variable' power supplies
capable of changing power to either charge the solo or run it for use. I will update once I have more info on this. Anyone have any info on the power requirements for charging and for using the solo when
plugged in? Sorry if this has already been answered (only on page 193 so I still have some catching up to do!!)

(BETTER AIR FLOW) You can purchase a stem from planetvape.ca a PHVES (stroll all the way to the bottom of the page you should see them there) or you can mod your stem like I did using a dremel http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/arizer-solo.3833/page-397 or you can pull your stem up a tad bit.-

lol robo fart...yeah, it goes away after a burn off as suggested. Give it some time, you just might fall in love like I did
