I feel you should be able to get big hits with the Cera. If it is like the T1 you will be able to milk a tube. You just need to get the contents up to temp and get the inhale speed down. You may have to inhale for 25-30 seconds but you should get a big satisfying hit.

Some other portable vapes can hold 2-5 times the amount of the T1 and Cera so they may be more cloud chaser / bigger hitter friendly but don't discount the Cera till a couple members get their hands on it and see what they can do.
Totally agree! I get excellent hits from my T1, I just have to let it get up to temp and use a very slow draw, but I do ramp up my inhalation speed as I feel the air getting warmer. I will shut it off maybe 10 seconds before stopping my draw, and it continues to give vapor even after shut down.

My T1 can't give a killer clouds like conduction style vaporizers, but the flavor with a T1 can't be beat, and with the right style, gives big satisfying hits. I would never get rid of my T1, and with the wall adapter, it is a joy to use. When I read at night, the T1 is always there with me.

My wife, whom is not much of a efficianado, does not like the Pax flavor, and loves the flavor from the T1, she says it is sweet, just like me.

So it sounds like while the MP might be used to slightly 'tamp down' a load, it is still not quite long enough (pulled out) to prevent heat discomfort? Maybe Noah can expand on "there are some subtle benefits of this feature"??????

It moves in and out a mm or so, and will tip some on it's o-ring. The head will not actually slip inside the bowl, so there's no 'tamping down' after the load shrinks even a little bit.

However, this minor movement keeps debris from collecting in bad spots on the way out. In essence the UFO we know (four right angle turns) is now much bigger and (thanks to the wiggle) largely self cleaning. I don't think you can plug it on a bet. So far in 6 or 8 bowls of top tier bud I've cleaned the accumulated condensate off it once. Very easy to do, push it out, wipe it off with a cloth with a bit of ISO, put it back together.

Noah can speak for himself, but IMO this is the hidden benefit. We actually discussed this area an hour or so back, but it wasn't in terms of a 'special feature' as much as how it works.

I agree completely. I think most of us are happy with T1 output, but there's a vocal sub group of our Brothers that is not. They want more, all the law allows, and are willing to pay to get it. I could be surprised of course, but my bet right now is Cera will come in as no slouch in heavy production, but most likely on par or even a bit under T1 in volume (smaller load). Even if it was a bit better in that regard I'm afraid some folks are keeping fingers crossed for huge improvements in the huge clouds division? I don't see it giving a series of 'huge rips' one after the other in rapid fashion. I think rather it will be like T1, MFLB and the others in that skilled users can get impressive clouds for a careful hit or two under the right conditions. There's still only 100mg or so of bud in there, so only 20mg or so of the wonder drug we're after. That's just not going to go real far when it's big cloud time.

We shall see fairly soon. Like I said, I just got back from a run over, with a new core to test. After some discussion they gave me a 'top of the range hot one' instead. 15 Watts. I'm guessing this guy will have to have his power in bursts, letting it run non stop is probably not going to work but vapor should be faster and thicker.

I think I may test bubble (now that I have a backup) before fitting the hot core for testing. This may get sidetracked with the oil cart which I was just told is 'on track for later this week'.

BTW, I saw a second finished Cera, Tim was messing with heaters for more and had ceramic parts in his work area to build more. I think the plan is to make a few 'old school' videos then get it (and others) out to other Beta Testers. Fun times, lots happening.

As to your wife's taste in vapes and men........

That is my biggest issue with tubing as well in addition to smelling up any room the tubing is in till the end of time.

its the silicone tubing that collects all the fuzz and dirt. i would use some 7th Floor SSV/DBV tubing. supposedly the stuff is only made for them, but it could just be vinyl or something. slick and non tacky. temps shouldnt be an issue i dont think.

here is the 7th Floor tubing:

they have some nice cheap little GonG clips on there also. may have to get a couple of those.

she says it is sweet, just like me.

oh boy... :puke:

Finally a word about that battery life.....it was still working at 3/4 of an hour of basically continuous run (3 stages actually). About what the specs say, and a HUGE improvement. Some guys would have run 2 or 3 bowls to my one. Maybe even most would. That's a lot of battery life.

3/4 of an hour = 45 minutes and still working (If I understand correctly). The T1 ran for 5 minutes before the battery died. Most switched the battery and load at the same time. 45 minutes Cera run time divided by 5 minutes T1 run time = 9. So 9 bowls which is .9 and if the Cera is still going you should be able to get 1 gram vaped before having to recharge. 10x improvement if not more for those heavy sippers out there.

I'm not sure five minutes on Cera will produce as much as five on T1, but it should be plenty close. Maybe not 10 times the battery, but a huge improvement for sure.

I'm sure if I pushed it I could easily get five bowls out, I got 2.5 going unrealistically slow.

The core I just got is about 20% hotter. I plan to shift technique looking for heavier production for our cloud chaser buddies. I'll be interested to see how the battery holds up. I'm guessing with the extra power the call will be back to warming up for a hit or two then powering down and letting it coast some. That, along with finishing the bowl faster, may help to lessen body heating? Time will tell.

Thanks but I do have that on my SSV and it smells just as bad as my piece of no2 tubing and almost as bad as the tip of the INH tube. So I think from my nose that they all smell very strong. You are a thousand percent correct on the feel and what not. But I am getting some cause I want color...

Things are looking good so far OF, glad to see the reports. I would say I got decent vapor clouds from the T1 once I got it warm... so I am guessing the Cera will be on par with that at the least. I am still stuck on how to decorate the thing...

moving right along...

Whoohoo, you go OF!!!!
I as much as most dont mind thin clouds as long as i get medicated, but there are occasions when i need a quick thick blast to get medicated!!!!!! So thank you for all your efforts to test the cera in as many ways possible!!!!!

Are those clouds the people walking down the street are blowing out official in this video? as they hav'nt released any yet im thinking this is just an example.

Iam not 100% sure but it seemed like e-juice vapor!!!

EDIT- I vape a lot of e-liquid and those clouds are consistant with e-juice, i can pull huge clouds out my vivi nova with a 1.8 ohm atomizer!!

I am just guessing that those may be the ecig version... for the video.
I think it's the flower one, remember how OF and Tim said there was only one built? That might be the one... unless they're using the body of it and a standard res atty... the clouds did seem kinda big to me which had me interested... unfortunately, now that I think about it, my Ultra can do the same...

It is designed to work best with high purity essential oils, concentrates with high plant content are best ground and vaporized with loose leaf via convection IMO.

Just to be really clear on this aspect, you are suggesting that people who vape stuff like this -

Tosh_Valley_charas.jpg

- are better off with the loose leaf cart instead of the oil cart?

This stuff tends to give off oil when vaped. Won't that end up clogging the heater core?

I think the key is using convection to vape with, rather than the direct IR heating of the normal oil cart (since for the most part it won't 'melt into the ceramic'). The important bit I think you may have missed is "vaporized with loose leaf via convection" (emphasis mine)? The idea being to have more than enough herb ('loose leaf' is Lawyer code here I think for 'herb' or 'bud'?) to soak up any oil that gets loose and hold it until the magic temperature is reached and it gets set free on it's final journey to you.

I would not drop that lovely ball in there intact and expect good results.

Ah, as usual, you are spot on. I assumed he was referring to the loose leaf cart when he wrote "with loose leaf".

But in case of that lovely ball, I'm still confused as to whether the essential oils cart would be needed or if the loose leaf cart can do the job just as well (I'm looking at saving the $99 you see). The load would be some small pieces off of that ball mixed with herb of some sort.

First off, thanks for the kind words. The goal is, of course, straight information folks can trust. That's important, it's the basis for sound decisions, and we're talking about life effecting choices here.....

I too assumed he meant the herb cart (from the convection part, it's their only one.....) but took the 'loose leaf' to mean the substance, not the unit. Put some herb in under it and maybe a thin layer on top if it 'spits' to soak up accidents and vape away. I plan to do this with some nice bubble hash I have here the Beta unit I have since I now have a backup bowl (different power) 'just in case'.

My advice is to not order the concentrate cart if that's what you're going to feed it. That cart is based heavily on the Revolution/DART line and as I understand it will have a similar 'floor plate' that the goods must liquify and soak trough when heated to reach the action. Otherwise they just sit on the hot surface and slowly vape by conduction....meaning serious stirring is needed to keep fresh material in contact (between hits typically). This is how we 'drive' Revolution/DART with such stuff, and will it will work for solid, bubble and lower grades, it's a PITA if there are other options available.

FWIW, using convection on solid concentrates is common in Volcano using a stainless steel mesh 'brillo pad' to soak up spills they sell just for the purpose. I put a small bit in the bottom of the 'concentrate can' from DV (designed for just this duty) and HA (IMO a great desk top convection vape) instead of bud and run a fair bit of bubble through each when the mood strikes.

Man! After having a look at that ball (looks like a malted milk ball, but with an entirely different kind of goodness contained within) I am getting anxious to try an experiment like that. I have some goods like that that I have been sitting on for awhile (in case of a concert or some such occasion) and I havent broken out my T1 for awhile...See how long I can hold out!

I havent purchased the loose leaf cart yet, because most of my need for portability has been driven by the use of concentrates, but I am This (**) close to ordering it (and hopefully have it added to my pre-order shipment)

It's a magical time to be alive...

Also my state is voting on a lame duck issue around legalizing MMJ today so wish us luck! We were two votes short during the last session to make it a full majority, and I have a good feeling about it this time...

Heads, shoulders, knees, and toes crossed!

Hi BC,

Keeping stuff crossed for you and your state as well.

BTW FCrs, ThermoVape website continues to evolve. Gallery photos arranged very nicely (perhaps with a couple of previously unreleased photos??) CERA FAQ page as well. Can hardly wait to see the new TET CERA videos. IMO they'll probably look quite professional (as in the past). BC- "A magical time indeed."

Honestly, i want to see new Cera videos without trashing other vaporizers. It is subtle but it is there, the PAX, the MFLB and a few others appear in the video when they say something like "if you're not satisfied with other vaporizers"..

I don't see the need to knock others down so you can look good Thermovape.

Just my opinion, the Cera looks promising nonetheless.

I caught that too. Still gonna buy one though. Just seemed out of place. Cera can stand on her own,and it just doesn't match TET's classy image IMO.

What i don't get is why they repeat these kind of conduct. With the T1, they were seen tearing apart a D9 vaporizer with a hammer to prove that the T1 is much more indestructible. Well, we are not idiots. It is obvious that the T1 would not be affected as easily by a hammer pounding merrily away.

And here i am, happy to see a video of the Cera.. it just leaves a bitter taste.

We show ThermoVapes as well in the video :)

Pick any vaporizer, and some people may be unsatisfied with it. Our customers report to us about being unsatisfied with another vape, and then satisfied with ours, or unsatisfied by ours and satisfied by another.

So we have put it all on the lone to build a vaporizer that I would be,t factored in more direct user feedback and requests than any other vaporizer I can think of, based on what people said they found unsatisfying about the T1, Rev, or any one of a number of vapes.

We are providing a new, very different device. We believe in it, we believe that is the most scientifically founded, purpose built, portable vaporizer ever made. We were the first, and reamin the only company to deliver pocket friendly, powered, convection vaporizers. The material application of stabilized Zirconia and SS or Ti was an all out effort, and a reflection of a truly uncompromising postion of using the highest quality US sourced materials we possibly can, we simply cannot find better materials to build a vaporizer from. As far as we are concerned from a materials science and application aspect these are the safest, purest, most well suited ceramics and metals for the task of making clean vapor. We do

It is our job to find solutions for those that still smoke either because they want to, haven't vaped, or vaped but had a bad experience. All of these people we want to reach.

We do not care if it was our vaporizer, or someone else's vaporizer they are/were disappointed with. We want to do everything possible to provide a vaporizer that is NOT disappointing. You and the entire forum community are a huge part of that.

It would be a very long post if we went through every aspect of the Cera that related to a direct suggestion/request/complaint/criticism from folks just on this forum... not too mention medical testers.. etc.

The buck stops with someone and I take full responsibility for the video and stand behind it. We love you guys but we are in a serious fight. We have employees we really care about who have committed themselves to building great vaporizers. We have thousands of people we have help quit smoking over the years (we did e-cigs for awhile ahead of loose leaf convection), this keeps us focused on what we feel is important. We believe that it is possible to still build great products in America, I believe that if you can give people a chance to make a living wage, in an environment where they can learn, be creative, and have opportunity to gain expertise, and build a career, that this creates an engine of innovation, a force of creativity. So for every 1 of my employees I could have 20 people working over seas, making vaporizers under what I feel are deplorable conditions. If we sourced our materials from unregulated overseas suppliers, and used overseas suppliers we cold mark everything up 500-1000%++. I could send out 3++ bad devices for every good one and still make a killing.

Not our thing, not now , not ever.

Nate and I both feel strongly that if instead of focusing in getting rich, we focus on generating jobs, supporting other American material suppliers, machinists, foundrey's, ceramics companies, battery companies, wire companies, switch companies, spring manufactures, packaging manufactures (jars, plastics, vials, test tubes etc.) and more. we directly support well over 50 American companies in total to make each Cera. It is not cheap, or easy, but it is the only way we can be confident we are using truly the highest grade materials (verifiable from origin) and achieving the highest level of quality, both in terms of our vaporizers, and also our direct support those vaporizers, and customers.

Our goal is to set an unquestionable quality standard using the safest materials possible.

So where others have margins, and marketing. We have sweat equity, and some great employees. Well worth it. We have to get out there and make sure we let people know what we are doing (no marketing budget) however we can, I certainly do not feel that we did anything that was distasteful or derogatory in our video. I took a lot of heat when I took another manufactures cart apart, even when I took our cart apart next to it...

Sometimes I make a judgment call, I want people to know we are out there competing with those products. It is the difference of calling those products unsatisfactory vs. asking if you have been dissatisfied, I'll leave it up to you.

We still live in a free market, and their is a fine line between being a moral capitalist, and running a company that simply cannot compete with outsourced, overseas manufacturing and materials cost (not to mention labor). I feel like we are the new car maker, we have to point at some of the other new cars... and perhaps better known models and say hey look, if you tried another cars and did not like it, try us out, it is not like any other car on the market. That is part of our value proposition to you the customer, to give you something that delivers satisfaction when previously you were unsatisfied, or to deliver something that is satisfying in a way that is improved, (with the caveat that we must do it in a way that we can stand behind in terms of safety, and standards).

So my call, certainly not Tim or the rest of the crews doing. All us vaporizer manufacturers are grown ups. Competitions good, better for the customer. We love them, however we think we can do it better, that our goal, to build the best vaporizer we can.

Cheers,

Noah

None of which our priorities for us. We focus solely on Quality, Safety, Performance (Convection).

Form follows function.

If the best batteries were square and the best ceramic green, the Cera would be a green box.

That is why competition is good. One size doesn't fit all.
