Discontinued Vaporblunt 2.0 & VB 2.0 DLX

Vapor concierge
I got started last night with one session. I did a one session burn off for dorkus and saw no mystery vapors and got very little smell. it smelled a little bit like a toaster oven when first turned on. i did some ghost pulls and there was a little bit of new vape taste, but nothing near what I hear from other users with different new vapes...although this unit may not have gone through the same manufacturing process as the mass produced ones will. The glass seems nice, but I am not a glass pro by any means...i really don't know what to look for as far as welds, etc. It's a little taller, thinnner and lighter than my vxl ht. mine has the button problem as well, but that has been fixed.

my first impression is that it is a pax in a solo body. you have to hit it with a technique similar to the pax and mflb. i didn't get technical about what i put in it, so i don't know how much there was, but I would put it at about 1-2 pd stem's worth to fill the little basket without tamping it. started at 2 and ended at the highest setting of 5. got medium thickness vapor hits throughout and felt pretty good. The abv was fully spent and was a coffee brown color. when i opened it up to empty the basket there was a little vapor coming off, confirming that this is a conduction based vape. the water attachment would make this popular with users like jamband, who like to vaporbong with the pax. I'm not gonna put it in my Ion until I get the hit style down, as I didn't really enjoy putting the mflb with my Ion.

I didn't get my nice sit down session in today due to finding out fucked up news and wanting to be rather clear when dealing with the issue at hand. I apologize to TRVB, I will have feedback by the end of the week without doubt. Guaranteed to be vaping all damn day Friday to foggy up the brain a bit. Anyway, review still to come my sincere apologies.

I hope everything's ok. As I learned this week, Fucked up news is indiscriminate and comes with no warning. Even the worst of news has a bright side, I hope you can find it. Don't worry about your review, we are not going anywhere!! Happy turkey day

OF you're the electrical guy around here, would the thermovape car charger work with the VB?

Good question. I assume you're talking about the SV charger from TV? The answer is no, the connectors don't match up. The VB plug is about half the diameter, more like a matchstick than a chopstick?

It should work fine with the correct connector.

the airflow on this thing is wide open through the water adapter. i just put it on my ion and had no restriciton. now, you have to pull slowly to get any thickness to the vapor, so you don't really get to enjoy the wide openeness. i worked my way up the temp ladder and liked the upper range so i could pull harder to compensate. i want to do this next time from the beginning of the bowl to see how hard it hits with a fresh load.

the conduction happens quickly, so it is always producing vapor, which makes me antsy about moving along and not wasting. i decided to operate it in the order of the instructions, which called for turning it on first, then loading your herbs (common sense calls for this in reverse order, which is exactly what i did last night without incident). so the vapor started happening as soon as i started loading it up. i quickly packed it and started hitting it lightly like the mflb...decent, mid-thickness-for-a-portable range hits that weren't very satisfying on 2, but got better at 3 and 4. through no fault of its own, i'm probably going to be hard on it since it is a conduction vape, and i don't tend to favor them.

I haven't played with water yet, an I know we remove the stir cap to use the water tool BUT where I was going with this was that with the original VB when you covered the stir knob with your palm you would get fatter rips because of air flow restriction. Ill play with this PonG adapter and see if I can get the the flow down.

I've got a verdict and thoughts on the "base" unit
BASE UNIT (DRY VAPORS / NATIVE):
I found that at setting two I could get some nice tasty hits and finish drying my buds so that I could dump it out break it up finer and really go to town. I pack about as much as I do in the thermovape Evolution so it's relatively conservative on herbs. I find setting 3 to be my sweet spot and will bump up to 4 once the visible vapor stops. I have no weird tastes smells or any of that nonsense, the stir knob works well (as it did in the original). I'm satisfied with the heat up time although I'm patient so it really doesn't matter to me unless its 5+ minutes. It definitely medicated which is my main concern (hell couldn't type this if It didn't). I do find myself using the same technique I did with the original a nice slow draw or the "micro hit MFLB.I'm still playing with water and trying some things. Thoughts coming soon.

Don't hold back, Bro. Call it like you see it, we wanna know you know. IMO it's a machine that kind of inspires curiosity.....

I really only have a couple issues with the unit, the button issue which has been resolved, I believe the air flow may be too free flowing which keeps this vape from being all it could be but it can be remedied.
EDIT: I'm putting cotton in the bowl to restrict air flow ( I did this with the solo to collect hash and restrict draw to get some thick milky hits. Ill let you know my conclusions.

Well I'm done playing with water and I've taken notes along the way. Writing up the final verdict tonight.

Final verdict: good solid vaporizer with a little tweaking easily on par with the solo, In my personal opinion it's got the da Vinci beat with taste, cooler vapor (natively), better battery life, and more adaptable.

Review of water tool: I too struggled to milk the tube at first I had the same results as Stu's in his video but after inserting cotton into the bowl and then "sipping" (just a couple second draw a very slow draw through nose and then another couple second draw to just bubble the perc) I was able to successfully milk the tube on setting 3. This was the first unit I've used with water so I'm unable to compare but it's definitely an enjoyable experience (a very medicating one as well).

Overall: I was impressed by the unit, TRVB definitely took all the feedback of the VB1 to heart and it definitely showed with this unit. It's a solid unit very easy to use and gets the job done, I think it's a good unit as it sets with a little tweaking its a great unit. I know the free-flow draw is a preference among medical folks (myself included) but I think it works against the unit in this particular case, it's fixable with the end of a q tip but the heat retention is the only "complaint" I could find and remedy. Ill be putting up more thoughts as they occur but this is where I stand with the unit as of now.

EDIT: In case it wasn't clear the q tip does work well and does help produce thicker hits.

Super. Thanks for the review. Not having a Solo I was unable to compare the two as many have requested. In a funny way, my liking the VB has got me interested in Solo.... I agree, I too think it's got DV beat for taste, and maybe even ease of use, although DV is still a bit more stealthy I think. VB blows it's doors off in the 'bowls per charge' rating too as you say. If you can get past the size, VB seems like a better option for many/most?

The restricting the input is an interesting idea. Seems to me this would be very easy to do in a very uniform and repeatable manner by putting a mouthpiece with a (mostly) blocked hole on it when you use the WT?

Thanks again. If SC ever gives mine back I'm hitting that WT..... And the concentrate cup. Still plenty of testing to go.

Speaking of SC, has anyone heard from him? Maybe testing is going better than we thought???

OK disagree with me, I can't force you to be right
{Yes, I know these are "back to back" posts, but some time has elapsed between the two and they aren't about the same thing so I hope the MODS will cut me some slack here}

OK, guess I can’t hide after all.

I’m a medical user so I’m not in search of “clouds” since that only seems like a waste of meds. I guess others have had some success with fiddling around, but I’m primarily interested in seeing if it works as advertised. Leave the mods to others. As is, the bowl size is somewhat limiting. With the WT 3-5 good vapor shots. By vapor shot I mean visible, with taste, and with effect. Not a lot of visible vapor expelled. You can tell with experience. This is at setting 3. I found 4 to be too high and quickly overcooked.

Which brings up another point and that is you have to move right along. Small bowl constantly cooking. No way to slow the process like pulling the stem on the Solo or pulling the ELB on the Cloud. If you dawdle or get distracted (can’t imagine how that might happen) the contents will be gone before you get back to it. At 3 it came out dark brown and at 4 definite charring of 50% of the bowl. I think others have mentioned that just sitting there the bowl will cook off in about 5 minutes.

From a pure use point of view I like it. The WT appears to be of less volume that the Cloud HTs and is well matched to the VB. The WT also worked well on the Cloud, on the par with the Shower Cap I’d say. The VB was a bit overmatched with the Cloud HTs and my Mobius, but those into fiddling around may well be able to achieve better results.

I did finally get up the courage to take it out and about. Not exactly stealthy and I was totally paranoid about breaking the glass. Don’t know what the WT will sell for by itself (if it does), but the ones for the Cloud are $250-$350. As I like to go camping it seems like an ideal use. Maybe come up with some sort of sleeve to help protect the glass as it doesn’t get very hot.

Didn’t really try the VB much without the WT. When I did it seems more along the lines of the MFLB or a log vape in terms of output strength. And I much prefer the Solo’s glass mouthpiece to the plastic VB mouthpiece. Do like the built in stir rod as I am a big fan of stirring contents.

I plan on loaning one of my Solos to OF so he can do his own experimenting. Can’t believe there’s a vape in existence he doesn’t own.

You can make a neoprene sleeve. I made one out of a beer holder that I got for free. I made it for the solo bent stem. I can't sew but managed :).

Thanks for all the reviews guys, although I need to catch up on some of these terminologies! Did u stick I cotton swab in the bowl? Anyhow, things are going great on our end. The final tweaks have been made. 90% of the issues you guys talked about are corrected. I appreciate all the feedback. We made a deal with a company that is going to have all of USA, that's good news for us but is slowing down the release a little. Hopefully next week. Cheers

Ahahaha yeah I took the cotton off the side of a cotton swab and shoved it ontop of the herbs in the bowl to cut down airflow, this doesn't allow for use of the stir knob but its neglible because the bowl size was cut down and that vapes evenly anyway.

Haven't tried the cotton trick, but some way of restricting the airflow would be a good thing. Even holding my finger over the mouthpiece didn't seem to change the airflow using the WT.

I have a cotton question then back on topic. I tried a cotton ball in one of my vapes and I think it had a taste since I have never done it before. I was wondering how do you know if the cotton is ok to use?

100%cotton is safe. Generic make-up removing "swabs" may contain polyesters or fake stuff.
Cotton that is processed (clean... not fresh from the ground) does not begin to combust until beyond 420.
