Discontinued The Persei Vaporizer for herbs and concentrates.

would you say using the Persei at 3.7 v after heating it up a little with 7.4 v batteries is too low for getting any vapor out of flowers because if it is then i shall be waiting for the iris tops

Hey OF don't laugh to hard if we don't work out my problems w/Bender I just may do that!

Not laughing at all, just having a little fun with it at the expense of DubC. He's really a good sort, doggedly persistent in solving customer issues as I have first hand experience with. If he decides to pull it back for some sit down head scratching you can bet I want in on that.....and he knows it. We've done it a couple of times exploring stuff and hopefully will do so some more in the future. He's pretty sharp and insightful in case you didn't notice. Great asset, IMO.

I still would suggest keeping an eye on him..... Feel free to send your stash along in any event....

That would be about seven Watts, between a 2.4 and a 1.5 Ohm cart. I seriously doubt that would be enough to get it done. If nobody tries before I get to testing mine, I will? Unless I forget. Or get loaded or something......

I wasn't going to say anything because G is totally taking care of me but my Herc is also dead due to verified production defect, and not the unscrewing shown above. Pretty sure I got the first Herc period so I assume that means 3 out of the first 5 are already dead (quoting a stat posted above me that said 2 for 5)

The ceramic heater (and it's base) move around and allow liquid to leak in to where those wires are, this is why I could only get a few massive hits before my Herc seemed to be "running on empty." My glob dripped through the screen slowly and if I was not hard on the button I got very little smoke because what didn't vape immediately leaked in to the internals (and later boiled out enough to make a sauce pan very sticky). Hence I developed a method of use that gave myself 1-3 massive hits before my tank fills went subterranean on me in the heater internals. This also caused me to question the efficiency of the Herc more and more with each new tank I loaded. My first load was the absolute tits, and probably because the floor had not moved yet. I am anxiously anticipating Monday when I will hopefully receive a working unit. My video reviews are of a DEFECTIVE HERC and I will edit the post to include that detail.

It sucks to buy something and have to return in, but I blame China 100% and G is doing a damn fine job keeping me a satisfied customer. I expect way better results on Monday.

Regarding the person who asked about the stainless mesh moving inside the tanks; I have a few doing that too. G said it is no biggie / not a production issue as they use no glue.

I think I'm having the same problem. The ceramic element moves and the base does as well. I was a little annoyed and confused when I only got 1-2 medium doses and a few wisps out of .2g. I thought my tolerance had gone up or something but most of my oil is lost underneath the ceramic element?

Well of course, How can you do testing if you don't have anything to test?:science:

Yup, be mighty embarrassing and downright unprofessional to return it as 'checked out' if it didn't work with your stash wouldn't it?

I'm sure none of us wants that.

So will delta hold back on shipping any more Hercs till the problems resolved from what has been discovered in last few days? And I am hearing high count oils with lots of terpine might not be best suited for Herc? Most of what I had hoped to use was pretty much shatter or thick nothing near like PG.

Thanks for your inputs folks.

I have much the same feeling. My ceramic rod wiggles, but that may be normal. After 2 loads and getting mid range hits with much less vapor than I expected I loaded up .3 which is usually and day and a half supply for me. Got one big hit and 2 or 3 small hits. Very much felt like I didn't smoke it all and it just disappeared into the innards some where. Boiling the pieces brought out a good bit of oil to the pan, spattered onto the sides from the boiling water. I need to pick up some ISO to dissolve off the pan and see how much it was.

This problem doesn't seem like the intentional design. The bottom should be sealed so the concentrate is conserved and stays within the system.

So at least 3 of the first 5 are now either dead or dying?

Definitely making me think twice about my order now... I wonder why none of these issues were found in the initial testing? Or did some of the end materials used to assemble the Hercules maybe change along the way?

I guess I'm just hoping all of my hercs aren't going to be like the first batch...We'll see next week.

Wasting precious errl is my worst nightmare lol...

guys quick session with the 3.7v Hercules 8 minutes run time. But 2 -3 second pulls and it produces clouds. I was able to handle the Hercules without heat ever bothering me. No BS no magic Just vapor

Now i operated the hercules like a new person using it. Rode the button like no tomorrow with very little regulation.

Hey DankD
If you are using waxes or other solids, just keep heating it, it will vape that oil that you say boiled out, just stay on the power I have gone as lone as 60 secs to start it vaping again. I think G is going to have different size micron steel mess for us who use solids, I think this first run was aimmed at the PG users?? Give it a try you won't hurt it.
Good luck

there is no wasting or oil in the hercules, there are confirmed 3 cases, from over 50 we shipped out already. Many feedback is its working great, i have diverted the attention of all engineers to address this issue and i will have more information on tuesday.

Great news boss I am eagerly waiting for my hercs to arrive!

I'm 100% sure that all will be well in the end as I have been dealing with you for over a year now and I have nothing but great things to say about your company and how you guys treat your customers and stand behind your products!

Is the "Iris" for controlling the temperature of the Hercules so you don't have to feather the button or what is the "Iris" for? Will it work with "The Bender"/Hammer?

If 6% of a sample of a product breaks in the first two days... (and this is the CONFIRMED failure rate!)
I've read posts about problems with the insulator - looks like a possible safety issue. Problems with the heater. And problems with the mouth piece attachment.
Personally, I'd prefer if you check/test the remaining parts, even if it delays shipment. The USPS signature wait&hope dance, together with the massive delay with the Omi HVD replacement causes me to hope you test and fix the problems before shipping any more (but, hey I only have about a bill and a quarter so far into a Herc+Acc pack - If I spend a typical half hour at the PO picking it up, then an hour cleaning and seasoning the unit, I will be upset while waiting in the PO line if it needs to be returned).

That in it self Nick is going to get handled, but our of the all the issues, only 1 is known to be bad, the other is user error. This user error is based on the fact that the Persei threads where not cleaned out which creates a glue like bond and pulls out the parts. Thats fine we are on it and will handle all issues.

Anyone who wishes for a refund please ask away as we have no problem with that either. Problem will be fixed and production will resume.

While I agree, an 'out of the chute' reject rate like that would have all the bells ringing where I come from, although that does happen from time to time. It takes time to sort wheat from chaff, find root causes, validate and implement whatever fixes are needed, all that good stuff. Let's hope that happens quickly and as 'pain free' as possible. It's part and parcel to being on the cutting edge, staying away from the sharp part as they say.

However, I'm not so sure a short or other wiring failure is really a safety issue? How do you see that happening? The supply is short protected, and I believe folds back to 20 mA? Then again, you could put it on a simple supply like the TV unit or those little guys Mad Vapes sells I guess. That could be fun.

It goes without saying G is going to make it right, but that might take a bit of time and may involve an unexpected turn or two I'm thinking?

Black Friday

G (or anyone who knows),

Has anyone tried to make a purchase at D9V recently? Wanted to make a purchase on the D9V site and received a message that Safari could not verify the security/authenticity of the website. I'd like to pick up a few items during the sale (supposed to end on Mon., but not sure of the time) but this warning concerns me. Suggestions anyone?

Their websites's SSL certificate expired on 11/23/12, they need to renew it..

I didn't want to miss out on the sale either so I placed an order and just used my actual credit card (which I should anyway) in case anything happens to the info although it looks like you are still encrypted with SSL during the checkout.

It isn't the exposed wires or a short that worries me. It is that a metal part at a few hundred degrees may unexpectedly come loose and touch a body part! Imaging taking a large hit, as you cough from too much, the Herc comes loose from the base, folds over the top of the Persei and delivers a second or third degree burn to the users hand - At least as dangerous as McDonald's coffee. This quote from TRM was the case that caused me to envision this:
It still works 100% just falls off every so often. It's my GF's when it falls off she just presses it back together. But I have a feeling those wires will take a beating after awhile.
Didn't the "Caution: Hot" warnings drive this home?

Good point. I guess I don't see a serious burn hazard there but suddenly I recall some fellow saying he'd accidentally upended his and dumped hot oil out.....that could be fun. Say if it landed near your private parts? About the time a cop car appears in the rear view mirror? Now that's dangerous.....

Always thinking, aren't you NDA? A real 'outside the box' kinda guy.

FFM,

Thanks for the info. I dropped them an email and will probably give them a call tomorrow. Hopefully the discount code will still apply.
