Alright after just a couple weeks already having problems with my pax and its kinda freakin me out. So last night after a solid 5 person sesh i left it in my car no problem. But then when i went back to do round 2 for the night i turned it on and the blue light appeared? I kno you all have talked about it but i cant seem to find it specifically in the thread. anyhow after the blue light appeared quickly after it turned back to purple and began heating i shook it and the battery showed red which didnt make any sense because i had completely charged it that night and had only used it for one five minute sesh and then turned it off again. I got one decent session with the battery on red but to say the least am concerned about the functionality of my pax and i neeeeed to hav it for tonight. anyone had these same problems?

someone please care to answer?

The blue light is some kind of electrical "error" message. Some people can't even get it to heat up from blue. If it's working for you that's great just get ready to mail it in if it stops heating or it bugs you too much.

Wow that doesn't sound like fun... I rarely clean my Pax and I get a tiny bit of gunk build up on the ends of the screen, doesn't seen to affect performance but I've never had the screen pop out. I think it's actually made me a bit cocky, sometimes I empty the bowl by tapping the Pax out over the toilet... but I really wouldn't want to have to go in after it...

I actually found myself with my Pax over the toilet and had that gut feeling like chill dont do it, bad things will happen. lol

I was a real cocky one myself, thinking I was a Pax master. Thats actually why I emptied it out waiting outside at night for a taxi. I wouldnt suggest to be in ego mode when your tending to your Pax.

Mine has the infamous blue light issue. I'm waiting till Monday to chat with ploom, meanwhile I can get it to heat up by clicking the mouthpiece up and down a few times. It also cycles back and forth between green and purple. I tried party mode and it will still shut down occasionally. Pain in the butt but I'll manage. I have visible cracking so they can't say the unit is fine. I was thinking bout keeping the mouthpiece and hopefully getting a brand new unit, this way I'll have an extra. Its the least they can do for my aggregation.

I just ordered the Pax from vapeworld and after reading all this I feel like I just made a 250 mistake. Are all of your guys problems isolated or is the Pax just flawed?

A lot of people end up here looking for how to fix it, so you'll a higher ratio of "problem" posts.

That being said, I'm not interested in it.

Keep in mind the sample size of customers on this forum relative to the entire customer population. When people have issues, they search online and find help through forums. A thoroughly satisfied customer is a lot less likely to post about his or her experience than a customer who has a faulty/problematic unit.

I wonder if that's the full story of it. Have been reading lots of other vaporizer threads and find plenty where people are frequently posting how happy they are as a noticeable percentage of the unique postings.

But even without counting posts, users' overall happiness comes out in the tone of the posts over several pages. Defensive or lengthy an explanatory postings tend to point out lots of learning techniques or experiencing issues, rather than simple happiness and simple issues.

It would be interesting to analyze the database here (across all the vaporizers) to see which vaporizers have which percent of postings pro vs con, as well as posting's about positive experience vs postings about negative experiences here.

The pages I've read in this thread leave me thinking the Pax is high maintenance. Whether it's maintenance in repair or daily cleanings or the various little things to go with regular use, it all results in high maintenance.

The pages also lead me to thinking the output of the device is generally very acceptable to most users when the device is used right. And that output can be obtained conveniently and repeatedly.

Ah, but isn't life just a bunch of tradeoffs! Choose Your Set!

My Pax works great. Theres no real flaw other then you have to clean it frequently or your sensor wont detect your MP, even if your lazy you can just blow into the MP from the metal side for 3-5 seconds and your good to go. I never turn it off unsatisfied, I can tell you that much. You would be wise to read the thread when your bored.

After reading these posts, I think calling the pax high maintenance is being nice. It seems like a complete pain and if it wasn't so attractive and apple like I wonder if people would even mess with it. I just put the order in late Friday I think I am gonna call vape world to cancel and get a solo. I don't want a side project to keep a vape running.

Some of these people are cleaning after each use and buying or making tools to do so that just seems ridiculous for a $250 vape.

I think it is a little over priced for what it is but I'm sure the price will go down like it does al almost all new things. I think it will end up around the same price as the Solo, $225 but usually sold for around $160. Saying this I'm glad I got it when I did and paid the out of the gate price. Even after getting a Solo I still find myself using the Pax at least as much. I always have it packed full and when ever I want a few quick hits without the feeling of a whole sit down session I just grab the Pax and I'm pretty happy.

I really enjoy using my pax too, and don't have any real problems with the cleaning, which I only do once in a while now. I don't use it constantly, so that may be the difference for me. If you are relying on it as a daily driver, I can see maybe having other thoughts about it being high maintenance. Really though, if you are not sure, the Solo is a pretty safe bet, and lower cost, so rather than be angry here about a bad choice, I would go with what feels right to you.

Your mind is really already made up do yourself a favour and get the Solo. If you get the Pax you'll only be looking for reasons to dislike it.

I use my Pax daily, one oven of dry ground bud in the evenings watching TV with my wife. She is not as particular as I am about taste and the Pax is easier to pass back and forth than the Extreme's whip. I don't have a regular cleaning schedule, I just watch for the signs that I need to clean it. The most obvious of these is when the taste gets really foul even on the first couple of hits, which means resin has built up and gone stale, usually in the mouthpiece. The second most likely is a slight stickiness when I click the mouthpiece open and shut. You can also spot build-up starting when you pop the mouthpiece off and look at the top of the vapour tube.

None of these symptoms occur so frequently that I would call them a pain, but the Pax does need higher maintenance than my other vapourizers.

I for one love my Pax and congratulate you on your new purchase! :D

I did have some problems with the MP after the first few days of use, but the fine folks at VapeWorld sent me a new one for free after I chatted with them about it. Since then, I haven't had any problems to complain of, just that temp light issue when the Pax gets dirty and I can feel the MP start to stick (which for me is about every two or three days, depending on material and frequency).

I too have read about people having to send theirs back for various reasons like a bum battery, but from what I have read, the overall consensus is that the customer service is stellar.

After reading about some of the problems with other portable vaporizers (outgassing :uhoh:, fragile glass stems, having to carry multiple batteries), I think I made the right decision in buying a Pax. To be fair, this is my first vaporizer, so I have nothing to compare it against but combustion. I was a vapor convert from the first time I used it. Happy Paxing!

I am gonna stick with the purchase the optimist in me tells me I will get a problem free one.

One question, no matter how clean u get it do any of u get a bit scared sending it back in to Vape World if u need to?

Is there a consensus Best Practice in how to clean the Pax? I did a lot if searching and u r not to use Iso on the button inside to switch temp settings?

Hi All,

I hope you can help me with this. So I dropped my pax like an idiot - the mouth piece fell off and fell off my balcony (yes i know - horrible). So I thought I should take this time (while the new MP is delivered) to clean the device really well. So I started trying to clean the spring and kind of pushed it down becasue it looked a bit higher than initially. This resulted int he spring being pushed down below a little notch that is keeping the spring in a lowered position in the cyclinder.

I know - one stupid move after another. There must be a way to get the spring released... :S

Fork, Congrats on your Pax!

I use my pax everyday and I have had some minor issues but thanks to this thread, I now know how to fix those issues.

Try to convert your thoughts into using this thread for the better good of taking care of your Pax and give it a honest try. I had a issue that constituted contacting Ploom and they completely took care of me in an expedient manner with no questions asked. They really do stand behind their product.

I love my Pax but Pax isn't for everyone.

No worries, that is the normal position for the spring when the mouthpiece is removed.

It doesn't really matter, your new mouth piece will reset it when you click it a few times. I would try playing with a magnet, a paperclip, and some tubing though, no need to wait for the new MP :D

Thanks for the reply - it's actually below the floor under the mouth piece compartment - like not flush but lower than the middle air tube.

It's hard for me to really understand given I don't have a freakin mouth piece. I'll just keep it charged and wait for the MP from vapeworld - I did the ground shipping wonder how long it'll take for a Toronto delivery

Thanks - my life flashed before my eyes when it was falling then spins towards the balcony opening. I saw the MP skip and fall and was like fuuuuuuuuuuuu - just got it YESTERDAY.
