Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud

Slightly Medicated

(SliM) Iron Lungs
I used to hate Thanksgiving as a kid. I don't like Turkey so I would end up having a big plate of stuffing and that was about it. Now that I prepare my own thanksgiving, I go get a Honey Baked Ham... needless to say I like Thanksgiving more now. ;) I still end up getting some turkey for my guests that enjoy it.

Hope everyone is having a cloudy weekend. :)

OK, I finally made a quick video of the SSFG HydraLine. Hopefully you can see the problem from this quick video. I am pulling as hard as I can on this, just to get an idea. You can really tell when I pull it off the cloud and it just doesn't want to clear.

I got a quick message from SM yesterday and he said he was going to get in touch with SSFG. I also messaged the seller and asked if this was how it was supposed to hit. Haven't heard back yet.

Here it is:
Did you try tilting it back when you hit it? I don my have one but from what I read it hits best when you tilt it. If you notice in that second vid you post of the Luke Wilson one he tilts it before he hits it.

VapeNStone,
all of you making your stands, I would just be concerned to make sure its a really solid glue job. I used to work with hot glue, and it can become unstuck, even a bit brittle under cold conditions, and with the movement and weight of the HT going on and off, I would definitley be concerned about it snapping loose and the HT taking a fall. Hopefully you guys have it down well enough that this isn't an issue, but each photo I see posted of this kind of stand, makes me cringe just a bit, worrying about that glue popping off the slick surface of a tile.

they do look awesome!! :D
Good point Jam!
Stu, I suggest getting some silicone on there. Jam is right, hot glue is a sort of brittle. I used it as a temporary while I put a nice sized bead of silicone which does the real adhesion we need. Silicon is plenty strong for this, and has the benefit of easy removal if the slide was ever needed. I'd probably use some sort of epoxy if I wanted it permanent.
Also stu, if you noticed in my pics, the stone is elevated a little on little rubber feet/buttons(?) to keep from scratching surfaces.
I got them at home depot, but I'm sure are easily sourced elsewhere.
*found the package, their called "vinyl bumpers" made by Surface Guard. Their felt pads would do the trick also, and allow it to slide.

Recieved my cloud replacement and let me say this,I've never vaped really before because the few times I've tried it over the years I was unimpressed..Now with this cloud,I'm a BELIEVER! My GF had mailed back glass as well with hardware and only new hardware was sent so I still have to wait on my swaggertube :\ I Had to go grab some cheap glass hose to try cloud and even with that it blows like a champ..Even the high feels cleaner and more intense.Only time I smoke now is when I'm away from the house, when I'm home its all cloud!:science:

Thanks Jam and HAL for the tips. I'm thought I had some silicone around here, but I don't atm. I will pick some up along with some rubber feet or equivalent.

Jam that is sick. Very nice pick up. You basically have yourself a devastator with no ash-catcher and a non-removable down stem. How do you think it works with the HydraTube attached? I also like the music :)

Well, I scraped off the hot glue, put some gorilla glue in place and put some self adhesive pads on the bottom. She's starting to look better! :brow:

Looks great, Stu. So with the somewhat small base, no issues with being top-heavy, easily tipped over? I wonder if that might vary depending on HT?

I also found that the stability can be affected by the base joint being too snug a fit with the HT; one I have is so tight that I would have to very firmly hold the base to remove the HT.

Thanks, OBG. The base is large enough that stability is not an issue. The Mobius slide is a tighter fit than the Cloud's joint, so I do have to be more careful when removing it.

I think that I will just use this stand for storing the HT, and will continue to use a soft beer koozie as a holder during my sessions. It (the koozie) is really soft on the bottom, so putting the HT down quickly after an exceptionally large hit is less dangerous. It does a fine job in giving the HT a stable home between rips.

For display / storage however, the new stand will be used.

I'm think along the same lines. The stand I have is stable, but I get frustrated at times placing the HT onto its joint and removing it repeatedly. I'm one of those who has to take more, smaller hits so a sticking joint really becomes a distraction, if not a risk. More so with my HL which is tighter than my HC, so I guess it's a good idea too in making one of these to check the bowl/joint with one's own particular HT(s).

SliM, thx for the Slide Right suggestion. I'd tried some other lubrication but it didn't work well. Since this product is specifically for this purpose, probably much better. I'll give it a try.

The Dead Foot Designs stands look quite functional but I'd prefer something more contemporary. Just not a big fan of lacquered wood. Where can I find a GonG that will work well with the Cloud? Figure I can just make something if I can find that.

Just an updated pic of my HT stands. The one on the left is completely functional but that foam was too thick for the ShowerCap. I need to get to the craft store and find the right material for lining, using a microfiber cloth for now. These work great, they are very heavy, extremely stable, and the tubes slide in and out, with ease, quickly :)

I agree ... One should use some form of epoxy or construction adhesive to be safe!

Why not use some glass glue and affix an 18mm slide to the ashtray?

I am currently freaking out. I just finish my morning bowl and appreciating the cloud as I do every time I use it. Decide to go for a second bowl and the cloud is cold but it was on the whole time. It's just staying red and not heating up. I might start crying.
