***Gamers*** What are you playing?

I'm still enjoying DayZ as a flawed masterpiece which shows just why PC Gaming completely trounces anything consoles can achieve, and shows what potential there is for really innovative, meaningful change in the gaming industry.

I'm on MK9 too. Mostly play Cage, Jax and Lui Kang. You on PSN?
I'm on PSN, but since I'm in Aus, if I try to play with anyone overseas the connection gets laggy as hell, or just drops out :(
I don't use any one particularly, when I play with buddies, we have a no repeating characters rule, to keep things interesting.
I do loves me some Ermac and Quan Chi though
And I've been getting better with Skarlet recently :D

Old school PC gamer , here . Seems like there has been an old game renaissance occuring , recently . Diablo III has had me in right-click heaven since it came out , plus the half life remake -http://release.blackmesasource.com/ . As soon as MWO comes out , it'll be just like the early 90's ! (without the ponytail and ability to sit close to the keyboard ... thankfully monitor screensize has increased on pace with my belly's expansion and vision's decline )

vapomancer,
I was really impressed by Black Mesa source, they did a great overhaul of Half Life 1 and made playing through it a joy again. Half Life 1 really is a fantastic game, as far as linear single player games are concerned. Half Life 2 isn't really half the game imho, Hl1 was just a hell of a high water mark. The only issue with Black Mesa was the new music they were forced to use, but besides that it was an amazing showing for a free, community-made project.

I'm playing MWO online right now. As a fan of the old Mech Warrior games, It's pretty good.. A little grindtastic though. Building the mech of your current dreams takes alot of time which I don't necessarily want to sink into gaming, or even just one game. Also, when you truly excel on the battlefield you only really make 2x as many points as if had done nothing to contribute at all. Also, the weapon balance is all wonky and insensible right now, with many weapons types being effectively pain crap (flamers, most pulse lasers). I think it's in open beta and you can get in on the action if you like.

Cool sale on GOG.com today: http://www.gog.com/

I've been really impressed by the aptly named Good Old Games service. I must of wasted 3 hours or more trying to get Wing Commander 3 to run properly on Windows 7, and there was always some issue. Their people take the time to do all the workarounds for you, give you a nice gui with options that you launch from, and you pay a small sum to the legal owners of that old game. Everyone's happy. WC3 runs without issue and even has modern USB joystick support. Similarly, I had alot of trouble getting ISOs of Rollercoaster Tycoon 1 and 2 to work properly, let alone cooperate with expansion pack installs. Good Old Game just made it work like a charm at a very reasonable price that honestly I'm happy to pay.

FOr those who don't know about Wing Commander 3, it was one of the most expensive games ever produced at that point, and featured the acting of Mark Hamill and Malcolm Mcdowell. It was a ridiculous, awesome game.

For no good reason:

Edit: incidentally, the maker of this great series, Chris Roberts, has gotten over 2 million dollars on a Kickstarter project to resurrect this once great genre. Look out for Star Citizen in two or three years, it should be a blast.

Still having fun with Dishonored. It's like a steampunk/lovecraftian bioshock/stealth game all centered around a deadly plague.

Also just got the 2nd Sports Champions game for the ps3 (the virtual reality sports game) and I highly recommend it. If you have a PS Move.
Skiing, Boxing, real Golf, Bowling, and a new Archery.
Boxing is amazing :D

I've been playing some Skate 3 recently, found some cool lines in Danny Ways Hawaiian Dream.

I've probably spent a good 4-5 hours trying to nail one particular line, jumping from a mega ramp to a pool :D
I haven't landed it yet, but dammit, it'll happen.

Recently been on a JRPG run.
The stories tend to be better on average, so it feels like an amazing, entrancing movie that I get to directly control half the time.
Plus after vaping, I find myself gravitating towards mellow, immersive games instead of intense action games.
I mean I love Halo 4, AC III, GTA IV, and Skyrim lately, but my point still stands.

Playing: Persona 3 FES
Waiting in the mail: Final Fantasy XIII

I've been playing a lot of far cry 3. Epic awesome beautiful game. Hitman Absolution too, and some Dishonored, but they have been put on the back burner ever since far cry 3 came out. I really cant recommend it enough, if you like first person shooters get it.

Currently just playing DotA 2. As much as I love console games, sticking with just DotA theres enough variance which keeps me entertained, plus its free and I don't feel the need to buy a bunch of console games on a college budget.
