Did someone say bbq? :haw:

Is that an entire maple tree Dave?

Nice to see you back again Gonzo, I was just wondering what you'd be up to actually

glad to hear that those WonG stems are working out. it'd be a HUGE plus if they were air tight as well. do you think you'd be able to fashion a Bamboo WonG to match my UD's Dave? i loved Stu's and had always been jealous but wasn't sure if you were still turning them out. Would these new ones still have the glass stem inside that can be removed for cleaning like before? (IMO a brilliant idea). can't wait to hear some of these things going on in the R&D. there are some genius' over there in the UD Doghouse

I'll be honored to test them out, Dave. ;)

The BBQ sounds good, too. Although it's getting pretty cool around these parts lately, so maybe in the spring?

I can't believe that my subtle hints actually had an effect on a human being! I can't tell you how many times I've pointed out to my wife that my mancave needs a good cleaning, and she still hasn't done a damn thing about it.

To add on to HES's question, is the seal at the base for the heater still silicone seal? Going to be ordering some more tubing soon-ish and if there's no great reason I thought I'd go with all thick wall. As much as I love the glass stem as is, I'm curious what it would be like stuck into a thick wall since that seems to seal a little better - but if this works with only one or the other I want to make sure I've got some for spare connections for when they get gunky/discolored.

The stems Dave made just now use a thick silicon bowl I believe, Herb-guy.

I'll be honored to test them out, Dave. ;)

Wait, I thought it was always warm and sunny in Cali? I plan on being there about a year from now and I'll most likely be traveling on a motorcycle, would it be better to go earlier then?

@ OTA - haha I wish it was a whole tree dude if it all looked like that! In reality it's a 2" x 12" cylinder lol

@ HES - I could definitely make you one out of bamboo to match your Dogs and yes these will also have the removable glass liner as well.

To be clear these things that we're calling WonGs would typically be short, 2" (to maybe 3") pieces that are basically a wood taper, small section to grab onto and then thick-wall silicone bowl stuck on the end of the glass that sticks out of the wood. Basically just a short wood stem with a GonG style taper.. all thanks to Stu's genius.

@ OTA (again) - I do, in fact, have a bunch of little Blue Mahoe pieces perfectly suited for this purpose so you're in luck.

@ Stu - ah, yeah, cool weather.. spring it is. ;) As far as suggesting your wife clean your man cave, I'm gonna have to repeat (and paraphrase) some wise words that were recently said to me "careful or you might be sleeping in the shed"

@ that herb guy - yes the base that connects to the heater would still be silicone. In this case it would most likely be the thick-walled stuff unless someone specifically decided to use the thin stuff for some reason. I'm sure someone who excels in searching stuff up on FC could find an old image of the wooden stems and how they go together and look and these are basically a shorter version of those.

Ok dudes I'm done for the day time to clean up and try and get a little relaxation in before it's time to crawl off to bed. First though I'll share one more pic, this time of the Ambrosia Maple piece from earlier along with 3 other pieces of stuff I turned round for drying this evening. Enjoy.

It depends where you plan to be... Up here in the North, it's been low 40's degrees F, and 50-60's during the day... and rainy off and on.

Then there are some places in the South that stay 70-80 degrees year round. All depends where you go - California is a pretty big state that takes about 9-10 hours to drive from top to bottom.

Warm is a relative thing. I had to wear a sweater this morning when I walked to Starbucks, so I can tell winter is coming. Of course it's suposed to be about 90°F on Friday around here, but it could just as easily be a frigid 70°F if mother nature messes with us..... and we don't like to be messed with.

I hope you visit us southern Californians on your trip. Make sure you stop by casa del Stu to sample the local cuisine.

Yay, that is a big difference indeed. After converting that to Celsius it's about the same temperature in UD-land as it is over here right now :uhoh:

70 would be nice though, I'd sign for that.

I want to be in Austin for their second F1 GP in late November, but I'll probably be traveling around for a month or two too. I think I'll just go a bit earlier and start in Cali, instead of TX and circle back around. It'll be a bit easier on the budget too.

& thanks for the invite Stu, I most definitely will take you up on that if I'm in the area

wooh, WonG!
nice coincidence btw since I was thinking in what I could buy(vaping-related), but can still justify so it needs to be usefull/enhance the experience, wich is pretty hard since my UD+bong+vvps give me about everything I want, but a WonG is just what's missing I think

that ambrosia maple looks like there will be some beautifull new dogs in a few weeks btw

hearing those temps I''m kind of glad I don''t live in california, around 25 degrees celsius(77 fahrenheit) is the mark where I find it too warm outside and don't leave the house(it''s always a few degrees cooler inside)

Well Dave, happy thanksgiving (late) and may i say you've got some truly beautiful pieces in the last update. I considered asking for a custom bub UD but after you suggested the bub twig on the site, I've decided to take that as well as a WonG if at all possible :) I'll be on the site after the weekend to place my order, and I can't wait!!

Thanks and happy thanksgiving to you too mw1111. I'm going to try and make some WonGs and get them on the site this weekend so I'll see if I can make a couple that might go nice with the Bub Twig color wise while I'm at it. Have a good weekend... :peace:

I received my Mango twig today and the final product exceeds my expectations. I still have quite a bit to learn about the operations of the unit, but first impressions aesthetically...the piece is gorgeous. I couldn't be happier as it accents my house nicely.

On a special note, the presentation in packaging is well thought out and professionally done. I can't tell you how much that says to me as a consumer. You put pride into your work and it shows in what is honestly a work of art. Thank you to the entire Underdog team. I look forward to the next UD product to compliment the first. Great work!

I just got my dog in the mail and am new to these simple glass stems. Is there any tricks to not dislodging the screen when emptying the bowl? Also I am going to be getting the GonG accessory, at the same time, i'd like to get some of the micro stems...any word on when they will be in stock and available again?

Happy thanksgivings from Canada.
