I believe I'm going to treat myself with a new UD and bong this holiday season. :brow:

Just a heads up, I bought a UD not too long ago and it works great with water pieces, just be careful on what size you choose. I had a new-ish heavy hitter bong ~18in. Visible vapor, but thin, I think the piece was just way too large for it's intended use. If I could go back, I'd definitely pick up something a little smaller.

Thanks for the tip, the herb guy. I am going to buy this bong: http://www.grasscity.com/us_en/smok...ree-percolator-ice-bong-ashcatcher-green.html
I think it is big enough to not be too small (if that makes any sense) but small enough to milk up with a big hit. Also, water filtration for a smooth hit, but not too much for loss of potency or flavor. Don't get me wrong, there are better bongs out there, but considering the price and how well it fits my needs, I'm sure i'll be satisfied.

Looks like a decent little piece of glass. I'm lost between trying to sell mine or just keep it for combusting only and pick up a bubbler as well. I've been eyeing those FC bubblers.

Herbavore, you don't really need that ashcatcher as you'll need to remove it to hook up any vaporizer to the bong. I don't know if you have the option of purchasing the bong sans a/c, but if so, I'd leave out the a/c.

But not for French guys !....... Thanks !

Hey LeTchen, yeah no "free" shipping on international orders, it's a $30 charge for those. We do pay the first $20 worth of shipping though (the actual cost to us is approximately $50) so we feel it's a pretty fair deal. You do, of course, get the "free" goodies included with an order regardless of where it's going to. Sorry if there was any miscommunication, confusion, etc.. :uhoh: :peace:

I wonder if there's a way to rig some type of a bag kit to the UD - perhaps something like illi's Vaporlung.

huh...I've never been much of a Black Leaf fan, but. . . . I really like that 'saxo-beaker-bub'. Keep her clean, and in my opinion, she'll do you nicely.

I actually really like that, would work well with a twig!

Nothing especially wrong with it, but if you're spending $100 there's a lot of american-made and american-sold options worth considering :2c:

Certainly ships faster & cheaper. And if something happened to break in shipping, or it was off somehow and needed replacing, sending it back to somewhere in your own country is a lot easier.

I've honestly never found the function of inlines to be any smoother feeling than your typical slitted downstem in a basic tube.

skinnier thinner syn
fatter thicker syn

You could get a travel tube from soul shine family glass with an added showerhead diffused downstem instead of slits for around the same price too.

Hey LeTchen, another guy from Paris here . I've also been to the shop of the "Musée du Fumeur" (Smoker's Museum for the non-French speaking) a few times. It's nice to have a headshop here in Paris. I bought my Volcano there many many many years ago, and a Thermovape T1 more recently. I never visited the actual museum though, I suspect very few of their customers do. I didn't know they had UDs there, but it doesn't matter since I'm ordering a custom one from Dave.

I knew I read correctly about those $50 that you mentioned earlier in the thread, Dave. I have to thank you again for only charging me $30 for the shipping then. A pretty fair deal indeed.

i would highly recommend the listening to the suggestions that SD_haze listed. those are some great deals on water pieces like that. IMO, it's better to start with a solid basic piece that you use and later on decide what your preferences are than investing money into something like an inline, stemline, trees, etc.

it seems like you want to make sure you can milk your water piece with the UD which is another reason all the suggestions that SD_haze are great for. the ones that you have posted so far are slightly too large in volume.

The tube itself is 18mm, but the downstem reduces it to a 14mm.

With the downstem it gives you, it only fits 14mm bowls, but if you put a non-reducing 18mm downstem you could fit 18mm bowls in it as well.
Thanks for your help SD, I think I'll buy that SYN now. And to fit the downstem i'll just get the 14mm Vapor Hose Adapter from ALT and a shortened silicone stem.

Heya Dogs just checking in to see how you're all doing.. from the looks of things pretty good eh?

Nothing much exciting to report right at this moment, just continuing to keep on keeping on.. and breaking down that wood I pictured on the trailer a little while back. That plus the other wood that came in just a few days ago (the Monkey Pod, and the absolutely most stunning Ambrosia Maple I've ever seen!) has been keeping me busy in what little time I normally spend outside the shop. One of these days I'm going to have to take another vacation since I can't seem to force myself to take a break otherwise lol.

Oh wait, some of my favorite people, the freight company showed up today with a new little air compressor to replace an older one that's on it's last legs. I was afraid they weren't going to make before the long holiday but this driver really went the extra mile and made sure it got here today.. thanks dude!

New little air compressor: (this is what qualifies as excitement in my life these days)

Plenty of real exciting things coming soon though of the non-equipment variety. We're going to be cutting back some practices, products and services that aren't working out so we can free up more time to make Dogs. We're not talking minor improvements in production we're talking significant improvement like doubling the amount of Dogs we can put out withing the next 6 months. We'll also be able to resume investing a respectable amount of time and resources into R&D again so we can keep fresh and get on with updating the product and introducing new ones. That's the kind of stuff I find really exciting and like to share with you guys and we'll go into more detail later as we actually start to make these adjustments and whatnot.. good times coming, good times.

Oh, one other bit of awesome newness.. the WonG stems are shaping up and looking good. I had a chance to spend some time on them over the past two days and actually made a few. Very nice, very functional and I should be able to do them at a price you guys will probably approve of, probably $15 and less. I'll be sending the first ones out to some of our testers over the next week or so and then we'll start offering them on the website a week or two after that. All hail the mighty WonG!

Alright Dogs, I'm heading back to the shop to get back to cutting down this wood and finding places to store it. Gotta get as much work in as possible as tomorrow we'll be closed so we can go party with friends and family for Thanksgiving. :peace:

Have you actually hooked up to some glass for 'testing':brow:. I have a feeling that will be part of my x-mas gift to myself this year. I keep delaying ordering a different WPA (wrong size delivered - I dun' goofed) to see how these pan out.

Happy (almost) Turkey Day, underdog & dogette! Try to take a little break and catch up some some R&R instead of the R&D.

First post on the Forum in a while but wanted to stop in to my favorite thread first to say hello. Family matters have kept me away from the forum but life is finally starting to settle back down and hopefully I can get back to contributing here like before.

My UD pack is still going strong. The Queen is in need of a vet visit but is still working hard just as she has every day for over a year. Really excited to see so many new people enjoying pups. Glad that Dave's vape is finally getting the recognition it deserves.

Keep fogging it UD's and lets keep spreading the word.

Will the WonG connection be as airtight as a GonG connection on a 14.5mm joint?
I doubt it. But it doesn't need to be. I know the seal I get when mating wood to glass is not airtight, but it works just as well for my purposes. I'm excited that Dave decided to give this a whirl.

Well, is the small decrease in drag noticeable , and does the increase of air flow thin out the vapor any? If I can't notice the difference then I dont care if it's airtight or not.

I do not notice any difference tbh. I'm sure there is some difference, but I don't notice it so it is not an issue for me.

Hey Gonzo, nice you see you back around man.. you've been missed! Send your Queen in anytime you want and I'll patch her up and send her right back, I think you've still got my email so contact me there.

@ HERB - I don't want to stick my foot in my mouth and look a fool (or contradict Stu) but I think final production WonG stems are going to make such a good seal that a person wouldn't ever notice (outside of a lab testing environment maybe) a difference between that a GonG joint. The first 1-2 I made were "ok, kinda airtight" the last 1-2 were "holy crap this is crazy airtight". To be honest I was pretty shocked and pleased with myself lol.

@ Stu - I'll be sending you a couple for testing and review if you don't mind since it was your urging that put me to work. If you like them so much you want to throw a poolside BBQ and invite me that's cool I'll come. :D

Ok back to the shop, I just came in to show you guys some wood. This is some of the incredible Ambrosia Maple I mentioned earlier. This stuff has soooo much discoloration in the wood that's it's virtually ALL ambrosia instead of the normal highlights of ambrosia. Seriously, google Ambrosia Maple for some pics and compare this and it should be clear how heavily marked this is. This stuff is totally green (wet) and won't be ready for use for probably 8-12 weeks but I'm drooling already thinking of the beautiful Pups that will be born of this. The piece shown is rough turned round, NO sanding and then just wiped with sealer to slow down the drying. Hard to imagine how awesome it might be once dry and finished nicely...

Enjoy Dogs, enjoy.

I'm headed back to the shop for a bit...
