Discontinued The Persei Vaporizer for herbs and concentrates.

In the past I've read that THC SCIENTIFIC is constantly tweaking the production process making improvements along the way - Does that mean that all the Chrome Perseis available for upgrade are the original batch and if so are there any differences in functionality or fit and finish vs the black Perseis or the new color anodized ones?
it may be an original production run, but other than slightly better thread setting in the heads, the function is identical. even if it is, lifetime warranty means that when it does fail, you get the best new gear. my two cents

Allright one more question - Since the longer version of the SS tube works with all the battery combos - is there a reason that the Persei is still being shipped with the unnecessarily long tube? Is it just a matter of clearing out inventory?

I could be wrong but i think the SS (Super Stealth) Tube adds 1- 18350 battery 3.7v, and or 1- 18650 3.7v , both tubes are not adjustable and only allows you to run 3.7v as the 18650 is a larger 3.7v battery.:peace:

guys please remember that the hercules was designed for oils.

The current tank system that comes with the hercules works with all types of extracts. Works best with oils like the gold.

also when you get it please boil it for 5 minutes, dry it out for 10 minutes, then run it for 30 seconds allowing it to cool down 1 minute and repeat the process for 5 times. The break in period is done.

Whatever you say, boss. Although I do have to wonder why we need to boil it so much......must be too tough otherwise......or not tough enough?

How is performance with shatter, wax etc..... ? As I do not have access to PG or other "runny" extracts. We all can't be lucky enough to live in Cali!

It works with all types. Just the current tanks work best with pg, other tanks are being worked on to work best with different types.

5 min is much? you can boil it for 1 minute it does not make a difference, its just the initial breaking in that matters.

so does this mean it won't be so good for herb? Also what parts are we supposed to boil?

here may be a good indicator of who may get orders first, your initial preorder date. or the order number. got a 630# (left out number) number here, placed on oct 26th.

rather late placement due impending storm threats (this was a couple days before Sandy made landfall). Other things made priority (generator, gas, food, etc). And some time around then (earlier or slightly later) was when the last cart died... was a long time no power or persei... on almost a month now with no persei or med at all. Managing by keeping occupied with restorations and work. Whatta fuckin' month, crew. Give bloomberg(burg) and christie some props on a fair job. s'about'it.

Can wait for those ahead in line. We all got our ticket, just about when its called out.

It works with herbs, but remember i said this before the 7.4v is a little more tricky when it comes to herbs, the 3.7v works better with herbs. In fact the 7.4v i think will work with herbs better at 6v.

Which parts do we boil?

All parts need to be boiled just to make sure all is clean. To break in the unit you dont need to boil it, just need to break it in.

But boiling makes sure all parts are clean and now usable, remember your using this for HAT purposes.

Now I am confused; I thought hurcules did everything herb oils of all types etc. Now it is only best for PG. Hell the reason I buying it is I wont use PG with its additives etc. I surprise to hear this after the fact. So what will it cost to get a new oil tank when it is finished etc? Also if we buy the 7.4 what will the 3.4 cost.

I appreciate your products immensly but was on the path of thinking the HERC did it all. Now I realize it won't/

Can we get clarification whether u mean the Herc is best to use herb with 3.7 v battery setting or do you mean the actual 3.7v herc cart??

edit: ok after reading on planetvape it is the herc unit itself? I'd just like to know if the 7.4v herc will vape herb? what do you mean "tricky" ?

Guys, G already said it can vape any oil or wax in the tank. From my understanding it might require a couple seconds longer to warm up if the oil is more solid or waxy.
As for the herbs at 7.4v, it makes sense that it's harder to vape compared to a 3.7v configuration because it has more power. Faster warm up time will bring the temperature up quicker and could also have a higher max temp compared to 3.7. You will basically have to bring the hercules up to temperature of vaporization, then release the button to make sure it doesn't get hotter. Since it's enclosed it will retain heat enough to keep going.
The cool thing about the iris top is that you can dial in the voltage that will let you vape while holding the button and not worrying about it getting too hot.
Another way around this max temp thing would be to use the 7.4v Herc with a 3.7 battery which could bring the temps down, but G hasn't said it this would be safe yet.
These are just my speculations from the videos...we won't know until we get them next week. The reason I'm making these guesses is because I used to use a Herb Iron and it was very easy to make it too hot, you just have to learn how long to hold the button. Before the persei, I used the herb iron for oils with a dry sherlock mainly because it vaped cleanly on the ceramic tip and tasted great.
This cart will have a learning curve but I'm sure most of us are used to learning how to use vapes properly so it won't be a big deal.

I seriously doubt 3.7 will feed the bulldog. That's going to be 25% of the power developed at 7.4 Volts. As G suggested above, using 6 Volts might be a good option (reduction to about 66% of the original). Another factor is the 7.4 Volt battery will vary a lot. It'll start at close to 8.4 Volts and drop to 6.5 or so as it discharges. The 6 Volt battery will drop from about 6.3 to 6.0 before rapidly 'going south'. This stability will probably make it easier for guys to learn to control.

I intend to try mine that way.

As has been said, in a week or to the facts should start flowing. Good holiday to all.

Doesn't make me happy when G starts back peddling. Hopefully he's gonna over deliver.

no one is back peddling and i have never back peddled. The Hercules delivers.

Simple as that, from now on i will not be talking about anything anymore. I swear to god people when using the newer designs the more i use it the more i find ways to tweak it better.

The tanks can be made to work better with other types of concentrates if we separate them and instead of o making a one size fits all design.

Seriously people i make one statement about we can make better tanks to work with waxes way better and all hell breaks loose and i get called a back peddler.

This is why i dont want to talk about products anymore, and i will be just like the other companies none existent.

Hey g. Don't let a few misdirected souls spoil the fun for the rest of. We shall see who is back peddling when herc blows thier minds. Just keep making up and keep teasing the ones who appreciate a good build up before the climax.

IMO that's unfortunate, but an entirely understandable response.

Any compromise is a compromise. That means it's going to be less than ideal for at least some of the range it's required to work on. The narrower that range, the better the compromise can be. Some folks don't understand that or realize what that means.

We, as a group, use many types of cars and trucks. All will get you to the liquor store and back, but some will be better than others at it. For some beer runs we need to carry more friends and haul more suds than at other times.

IMO the products will stand or fall on their performance and support. Speculation before they get here is just speculation and may well be proven seriously wide of the mark.

I'm signing for mine when it gets here and seeing what it can do......

I had suspected 6v might work better for the 7.4v herc, with herbs, and had already planned to try it, as I discovered the same was true with the Bender (at least the one I had ran a bit hot IMO) so I got much less combustion on 6v. I DOUBT 3.7v will do anything for a 7.4v device, but get it warm, just not enough juice IMO. I rarely use oils any more, and have more solid concentrates, so I guess I'll find out soon enough if the Herc 7.4v is really going to work for me. Have not received a shipping notice yet, but I am sure it will be along in good time.

so we are supposed to boil the heat rod too??
