Take it easy on her, Dave. You don't want to end up sleeping with the real Underdog in the shed.

Hehe... Of course, the real Underdog is so spoiled - his bed, though small, might be more comfy than ours!

Being a long time lurker has finally paid off! Thorough immersion in these forums led to my PD purchase almost three years ago.

After trying to figure out how to fix the rattle, I was horrified to read about the charring, and at the suggestion of another member, spanked about a teaspoon of charred wood onto a piece of paper. This led to further immersion, learning of the the AromaZap/CeramicZap story after getting excited about the product - holy crap, Rick! - and then led here by numerous fans. Even Rick, it seems!

Days of further reading through this whole thread (!) convinced me that Dave has the right stuff - like a PD, but now with actual shaping

I have been eagerly following this thread to pinpoint the moment of the refresh, and since not much sleep for me these days, managed to snag the spalted tamarind just now.

Even included a variable voltage cord for added control/experimentation . . .

In any case, thank you, my fellow FC enthusiasts (lurking or not) for the great recommendation, helpful advice and excellent information sharing.

Dave, I look forward to replacing my old charred PD with a really unique looking and next generation log vape. Thanks for all the hard work getting the new line finished, photographed and up (it sounded like a real marathon weekend) while delivering unsurpassed communication with your customers the whole time, potential or otherwise. That's what won me over almost as much as the product.

Hey Elric - Looks like we lost an order while we were in the middle of uploading the new pieces. Dave sent an email to the person - could you check your email to see if it was yours? We need to mark that piece as sold and see what other goodies you added.

Haha thanks Elric, it's been an epic night so you caught us both still at our keyboards.. thanks for answering my email and I see we've got the paperwork all straightened out (wasn't lost after all) but I did have a follow up question that I emailed you re: the variable cord so get back to me on that and we're all good.

For the rest of you Dogs thanks for all the patience while we've been fighting with the website, moving to a dedicated server soon but until then we'll just have to keep doing our best with this sad old one.. sigh.

Anyways, 25 pieces in the refresh tonight with 10 or so more (mostly simple Ash) coming in a few days. We had a couple of visitors stop by and they bought 5-6 pieces and took them home before those Pups even made it to the photo-shoot lol. Good times..

Ok, limping out of here in search of bed now, talk to you all in the morning.. another bright, early and busy day planned around here tomorrow as usual. I'll leave you with a teaser lineup though before I go with a few random favorite pieces from this refresh.

New Pups!

sweet baby jesus. i LOVE that chinese sumac twig! the swirls....:o i feel like that'd be a great pair with my Bamboo twig and have a little chinese vape theme going on

but seriously, another great job with this new refresh Dave  really diggin the Curly Black Locust, especially how cool it looks under a black light. i know Rick used to do that too with some of his Zaps so im glad to see it with a UD too. it seems like you probably haven't gotten much rest in the past 72 hours trying to make sure they all finish that last processing steps AND taking pictures for allllll those pups. go grab a stem and kick back! definitely much deserved!

Hey guys glad you like all the pieces so much, we had quite a few orders come in late last night.. most of which were too late to make the shipping cutoff for today but will ship tomorrow (Wednesday) for sure.

@ HES - that wood is pretty huh? I love the fact that's it's basically an invasive species and treated like a weed and normally it has a pretty bland look but I've discovered a certain type of way it grows and a way to harvest and dry it that really gives it great character. Unfortunately it's pretty scarce to find it that way, but I have a good stash set aside so maybe you'll be able to pick one up one of these days before it's gone. The curly Black Locust is pretty neat too huh? Looks even better in person like most Pups.

@ cjwally - thanks dude I'll ship your order out tomorrow.. hope you enjoy it and are able to give the PD a well deserved rest!

@ Hoops - good choice on the Mango it's a pretty wood. I actually had a Koa piece in this refresh but it was one of the ones that got bought by a visitor. I think I'll also have one ready for the next refresh too. I also just got a bunch of Hawaiian Monkey Pod that looks pretty sweet but it'll be a few months probably before it's ready to use, gotta slowly dry it in the kiln and whatnot before turning it.

Alright Dogs, thanks for the orders.. I'm headed to the shop to make sure we haven't flooded again (seems to happen when it rains a lot like the last couple days) and then get to work on those WonG stems everyone wants. :peace:

Nice update this time around, I can't believe chinese sumac and zebrawood twigs haven't been scooped up yet. Though I haven't seen anybody showing the zircote any love either, and that's probably my 2nd-3rd favorite of the lot.

It looks like I am going to need to place an order quickly before they are all gone!
Quick stupid question before placing my order:
  • Has anyone found a way to rig an old PD stem with the UD? I have a couple glass stems from ClearDome that I would rather not have to part ways with.
Thanks!

The zircote was my second choice! Love the shape and wood color... If I had the funds, I would pick them all up...
