The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

Just got my Extreme Q yesterday. I underestimated how hard the balloons hit you (especially after multiple balloons to the face).

One question though: Has anyone used this as an aroma defuser? I got some essential oils that I wanted to use after a session to clean the place up a bit, but the potpourri bowl has a small hole in it.

Anyone know how to use oils with this model?

I put a cotton ball in the potpourri bowl and drip a few drops of essential oil into it. Works like a charm.

Hello mate,

You can drop a few drops of oil onto the flowers that came with it or any other pot pourri you purchase.

Hope that helps!

Extreme Q for flowers.
Does it work better than a SOLO?
If it does I will order one!
My SOLO's do work well!
My PERSEI's for waxes.
Need a plug in for flowers.
The Q may just might fill my needs!

I am confused by you guys that are having troubles with Keif in the Q. Just take a clean elbow and spoon in some keif (i fill it right up) Hit that. You will notice the first intake is not super thick. When you remove the elbow the keif will all be melted to the elbow screen and settled/packed. Just take a needle and swirl it around to get some airflow back in your Keif. When you hit it again, you will get a huge milk hit. Repeat until brown and too dusty to stay in elbow. I use a temp of 210 - 220 for this. (this is for whip hits only, i dont use bags)

So I just got a new EQ, it's the "older" model (the one that isn't midnight chrome). Everything works the same, however my new EQ makes a kind loud whistling noise when it's heating up, something I've noticed that the midnight chrome model doesn't do. Is this common with the older models, or is something up with my EQ?

My midnight chrome model EQ whistles. It probably doesn't depend on the model, i think most EQs make various quiet sounds. There is lot of circuitry.

Probably nothing wrong, not unless it is/gets very loud - especially if it's just with the heat expansion during heat up. There have been many reports of noises without consequence. If you're still concerned, drop an email to Keith or Steve at Arizer, IME they're very responsive.

If you want to use bags or think you might in the future, the EQ will fill your needs as a versatile whip/bag device. If you just will be using the whip, a single purpose device like da buddha, SSV or life saber might be better.

The EQ makes some noise when the fan is on, but not a lot; the dbv is entirely silent; i dont know about the vapolution. Dbv and EQ flavors are comparable. The dbv heats up a little quicker.

I just got my EQ from Ebay for $140. Came with 2 extra bags (4 total). I love this thing!
It is very quiet, heats up quickly, versatile, and aesthetically pleasing.
The only complaint I can think of is a quiet but constant ticking noise from the separate power supply. It makes me nervous so I always unplug it, which is kind of a pain for how I have my set-up.

It is amazing how far you can make so little last. I tested with a paper towel between my mouth and the initial smoke to see how much resin/tar build up there was. There was literally almost nothing, just a slight discoloration. Compared to a water-pipe hit where it was dark brown (gross), this thing is loads better on my lungs.

Infinite: I remember buying my EQ for 250$ and still think it was quite good choice. For 140, it's a must have, is there any other desktop of similar quality&performance for this price? I think not.
Ticking source? I had to check for myself and you're right, it's ticking indeed. But my is ticking so quietly that I really have to press it on my ear in silent room to hear anything. The classic EQ whistle is much louder in my experience and also the EQ's own ticking(which I also need to place to my ear to hear it) is louder than source's ticking. Of course the fan is the loudest noise EQ makes, but compared to other blowers still somewhat quiet.

Seek,
This vape is amazing. I have been using it more than daily for over 2 and a half years. It is beast, no other vape can produce such thick consistent vapor. There aren't any BS parts that need replacing, just cleaning eventually. It is best when plugged into a bong. Here is a video of vaping some unknown brown substance.

What temp do you set at when you use your bong? And do you use the fan?

that vapor looks almost as thick as what logs put out, may I ask how you have it packed in this video? Cyclone? Elbow? Full, half etc?

I've never had very good results trying to vapor bong with my Q but I'm thinking about trying again :o

As shown in the video, this is an elbow pack of some dank ass bubble hash. But I get vape this thick from herb all the time. Make sure you have a 100% airtight connection. I let my loaded bowl warmup on the vape for 3-5 minutes before hitting it. Then I take a small warmup hit, then wait a minute, then I usually get a massive rip. Elbow packs of herb do not typically hit as well as cyclone bowls of herb for me.

Sounds like youve got a good technique going. How much herb do you put in your cyclone bowl? I had been vaping through the elbow and the results were ok but not great.

Anywhere between .2 and .9 grams will work pretty well. But I have noticed that sup-premium herb does not yield as fat clouds.

I agree that the Q is a great machine, used to be my daily driver. But "no other vape can produce such thick consistent vapor"??? No offense meant, but I'll wager you haven't hit a Cloud, which produces vapor as thick as anyone can handle and keeps on going that way without missing a beat. (There are other vapes that can produce thick clouds, but very few that can repeatedly be hit hard without a drop in temp.) :2c:

Thickest vapor to me is the Supreme but the ExQ has done me very proud over the years... It definitely can hit almost as hard as any vape once all of the glass is nice and hot!

Getting the EQ up to temperature seems to be the key. First to let it heat up for at least 10-15 minutes, then to let the herb get warm in either the cyclone bowl or the elbow. Would you mind sharing your technique?

I am constantly changing up my routine but here it goes... Basically I turn in up all the way with just the cyclone bowl on and turn the fan on 1 for about 5-8 minutes just to speed up the heating process.. Then I usually load the cyclone bowl and I usually load fatties .3 or a little more when im using my Q. I do not elbow pack often unless im smoking a small bowl ( but then i usually dont use my Q) but i keep it all in the cyclone bowl and i pull really hard for the first second or two. This pulls a lot of herb and basically packs an elbow for you and the rest sits at the bottom like normal. after 2 or 3 puffs with that herb in the elbow i do a quick blowback through to knock it out of the elbow and down with the rest of the herb and then suck another elbow up (sometimes I pulse hit it it to stir the herb without taking off the elbow to stir) and continue this method till vapor dies. Also you can lift your cyclone bowl up and off the unit when you blow back I knw many are concerned with their heating element getting dirty and whatnot. and just rinse and repeat. When vapor dies you can unload into your hand and recrush the herb to get the last out of it. That is just how I use it, but i have experimented in many ways... for people who like to draw harder i find elbows or my method of multiple elbows in one bowl nice.. for peoplle like my grandma who doesn't have a lot of lung power i recommend bigger bowls in the bottom of the cyclone bowl (raise the screen a little if you dont like to stir) and take slow and steady draws for nice vapor. Whatever your method its a pretty fail-proof vape just turn it on, let it heat, and then blow clouds...
