Just created an account to post here because I was so excited about my preorder. I wanted a T1 so badly, but by the time I finally got the money, the thermovape website was all out of stock. I held off on ordering one from Amazon because I heard they were coming out with a new line soon.

Boy am I glad I waited! The Cera looks great, I almost sprung for the titanium version but I'm not really the outdoors-y type so I'm hoping stainless steel will be durable enough. I did go ahead and grab an extra battery, a car charger, and the illuminated switch though! I can't wait.

I understand that this is a convection vape...

but I think once this thing gets going it will be a whole different experience than the T1. My initial thoughts are that I'm hopeful this thing will preform similarly to the Arizer solo in terms of vapor production.

Ok, I'm cool with guys' hopes. And with it being "a whole different experience than the T1", although I don't think it will be all that different, really. But the topic was "with a continuously heated chamber I think the vapor production will be so much greater than the T1 that they wont even be comparable".

It does not have "a continuously heated chamber" (the bowl heats when convection happens unlike PAX, Puffit, Iolite and others that use that feature) and there's no indication or report of it producing a lot more vapor (only some clues it will be easier to do using less power). I suspect they will not only be comparable there but the two will naturally be judged one against the other.

What I am concerned about is folks might take authoritative sounding statements like the initial one as accurate and put their hard earned money down before the facts are in. I expect an improved version of the original, not something radically different. Skills and techniques from T1 should transfer very well to Cera.

Whatever it turns out to be I hope you and other customers are happy with it. IMO that starts with realistic expectations.

Soon we will know for sure.

After the initial run is finished, what is the schedule for the next batch?
Wifey is allowing me to order, but due to cc issues it won't be until the first of Dec.
On that note, could Tim keep us posted as to the availability of pre-sales units? If there are still some to be had when the first rolls around I am SOO IN!

Hey, welcome to the forum.

You mentioned you grabbed an extra battery and a car charger. When you buy the device it does not come with a battery or charger. You have to select from the addons a charger and battery. From the sounds of it you have 1 battery and the car charger but no actual charger and not an extra battery. Look it over and if you didn't order everything you need then just shoot the team an e-mail sales@thermovape.com

^ you are right.. so in total u get the cera for 250 + u gotta pay for a battery and charger. crazy
Think of it as a package and it starts to make sense. For the package (main unit, battery, charger and car charger),300 bux for a state-of-the-art Vape is pretty reasonable. I know it's spendy but if 250 is within reach then 300 shouldn't be out of the question. It's only 50 bux,you could raise the difference by giving blood. Don't like needles? Then give someone else's blood!
I realize that if the Cera turns out to be a total piece of shit I'm gonna look like a total asshole. Wouldn't be the first time.
But if Cera works as advertised I hope to see ya with me,in the express lane, begging TV to take my money!

Its a limited run, so far everyone is in the first batch. Shoot us an e-mail at sales@thermovape.com and we can see what we can do about reserving you one of the first batch.

Cheers,
Tim

I'm probably going to hold out on buying this until it is $249.99 with the battery and charger.

Just strictly speaking from an economics standpoint the first batch is usually the most expensive in terms of production and sourcing. This doesn't necessarily effect the quality of the device whatsoever but I have a feeling history will repeat itself and the price of the TV (this time cera) will drop once they have all of there production down pat.

Salutations ThermoCoreTim,

Same concept, just improved A LOT.

Doesn't this mean the new vaporizer is going to have a home-serviceable heater element?:

core.jpeg

I found it on page 10 (at last)!...

So, lets imagine the Cera's coiled filament (or else) has died, for some unknown reason, euh...

Don't hit me please!...

:uhoh:

Here's the good news intead: that wouldn't represent any ground for panic since parcels travel fast these days and weight wouldn't really constitute an important factor in the final bill (e.g. my guess is that a heater filament would fit quite nicely in a tiny hermetic vial traveling inside a simple paper envelope), etc...

Should it actually happen to be the case, i'd find this whole modular concept even more stimulating now than it already appeared to be previously.

The fact is i just loved my LEGOs, have confidence i see no problems there - quite on the contrary: i beg of anyone with some clear snapshots to show us more!! A retired soviet spy? Someone?...

Though there's some detail which started to bog me: it's only a false impression most certainly but isn't it as if there might be some unclear motive to play shy about the heater element exactly???

Personally i don't think there's a problem, i'm just sharing some perceptions as a distant lurker. That's all. But i suspect the manufacturer may have a strong buying incentive ready, based on those mounting screws eventually...

Sorry if i sound excessively curious! Looking at it who needs to be an engineer to realize a lot of time & effort was spent to give shape to function:

Thermovape Cera

Well, if it's a mirage then i'm falling for it as every visible feature seems to be there for a definite purpose and it feels like LEGO-ville again - which is Gooood!!

ok so I have a a lot of reading to do, but (i'm only on page 5...)

but I had to comment...

I feel the 499 price point on the Ti is too much... I do not know your costs, and I realize the need to make profit for the company to stay in business along with the new future devices TV will undoubtedly make...

but I feel like that price is too much for me to swallow. I would be paying over 700usd for the config I would want to pickup...

If i were to buy one, I know i would get the Ti version in both herb and oil format (as i did for the TV1/rev)

This time I will wait and see what the reviews have to say and then check out some comparisons. there is also a new Inhalater product coming too this xmas or so i believe right?

I must say though it sounds like a fantastic product so far! i'm going to keep reading and will probably be caught up before bedtime :p

I seriously doubt it. Not the bare element itself for sure. Unless I'm way off it takes tooling to crimp the assembly together (much like the current one), making the electrical connections. The best you could hope for, I think, is replacing the metal parts of the core by removing the four screws and trading out the socket, insulators, heater, form and the base plate, basically everything except the ceramic bowl and o-rings all of which are going to be very cheap relative to the other parts where all the expensive materials, machine time, and hand labor is. The part you'd have to ship will be basically as big and heavy and nearly as costly as the entire assembly. And, since it wouldn't have the protection of the body some different protective packaging would have to be made.

There's also a logical reason to want to send a fully tested core rather than small bits ("it still doesn't work, you sent me a bad part" kind of problems).

An additional problem could come with those bitty screws, even the guys that sprung the big bucks for the Ti plate could find the screws 'frozen' in, butch even one and now you need a whole new core anyway. You have to get all four out cleanly (and back in) without damaging the skirt of the ceramic. Not easy to do if there are no spares handy. Murphy looks for situations like that you know.

Just an educated guess, of course.

Hey Guys at TV, I am loving the look of this new Cera! I do however feel as though i wish i had waited a bit longer to of splashed out on this thing Rather than the original TV from the claims it sounds like its an improved version Though i would be annoyed to the fact that i cannot use the Power cord and Body And other accessories i spent soo much on the original,

Look forward to seeing this thing in action though.
What Type of Ceramic process does the body/ bowl go through till you get the final version ( it looks shinier than normal ceramics somehow)

Is it as shock resistant as the TV 1 :) ( eg, surviving a fall onto hard slate tiled floor from table height )

I still will always love my original TV 1 setup and feel it is something i will want to keep into the future at least until i get a few more years use, who know, by then perhaps the next model of TV will be out, hehe

really, really want to see this thing in action. 'specially the oil.

You and me both, Bro. I'm 'brain locked' around the idea of easier vapor production, longer battery life and four times the capacity. That means way fewer pit stops which is a big plus if you asked me. I know you didn't ask me, but I bet it still turns out to be a great feature.

I don't think there would be so much price debate if we all didn't originally think that it would be $199 for the normal cera and then $250 for the titanium.

There is some concern with dropping it onto a tiled floor from a table...... you might break your tiles!!

Been having a couple of issues with my T1 lately, largely to do with the switch (I'll post about them later on the relevant thread). It addresses the one major thing I've always disliked about the T1, which is the way you have to hold the switch continuously. This cera unit looks incredible! Seems to fix every minor niggle with the T1 and more! I'd love to get ahold of one, but I don't know how long it will take before any UK stores get them in :(

One question I do have - How long does it take to recharge the new device? Currently I use the T1, then charge the batteries, and by the time I next want to use it, those batteries are ready to go again. Will it have a similar recharge time, but with 4x the longetivity? Or will it take a proportional amount of time? i.e 4x longer.

Not stirring here, but do you ever do anything other than whinge ?
If your not happy with the price...don't buy the thing.
If you think the titanium version is too expensive...don't buy it.
"Simples"....as the U.K meerkat ad goes.

Rant over...lol.

Well, I was in the same situation and decided the dual functionality I was looking for was worth more than the TI premium, particularly based off my experience with the T1 line.

There is significantly less metal in the new version, particularly around the actual material load and vapor path, and I have had no issues with the stainless steel construction in the past other than tarnishing. Realistically this meant my only concern regarding the TI option was limited to more tarnish resistance on the end switch and other exposed elements. In that context I considered it not worth a $350 premium for an otherwise identical kit.

As you stated, the price for the TI isn't too much, it is just too much for us - those in an "impulse buy" or "unnecessary" upgrade path situation with already functioning T1 gear who desire multiple core loadouts.

You can skate out a hair over five bills with the SS kit, bells & whistles and an alternate core - to me that seemed relatively reasonable based on our experience with the T1 line and what we have seen so far in terms of press material from Tim.

Murphy looks for situations like that you know.

With winter weather upon us in the midwest I am highly anticipating the new kit. I always am mindful of the mouthpiece tips when I slide the T1 in and out of my pockets and even while wearing high dexterity gloves I find it difficult to activate the sliding mechanism at times.

With both of these concerns made obsolete and the potential for a much larger loading capacity on both cartridges (4x on oil, 2x on glycerin?) I am much more excited for the coming month than usual! Now if only I could hibernate until it arrives

While nobody has tried, I expect about the same charge time. Depending on chargers of course. You should be able to charge in the one to two hour range if the charger you use is up to it. Since some of this guy's battery life comes from improved insulation I'd expect that's 'free' WRT battery power, that is the power used per minute is probably cut back so that increase in battery life is 'automatic'.

Looked at another way, the charger you're likely to use will no doubt put power back in the battery at the same rate or higher than the one you now use. And if the new vape will get more minutes of use from the same power because of better insulation, the battery capacity drops out (unless it goes way down). If you were happy before, you'll be at least as happy plus the happiness of the 'automatic' increase. You'll 'be in tall cotton' as us Yanks are want to say.

Now getting Cera 'over there' is another issue, I suggest that kind of thing is getting better and better all the time. When Production Release happens it wouldn't surprise me a bit to have the current T1 sources automatically carry it, the T1 no longer being available and all?

Good catch! I assume the production units will incorporate some sort of floor tile protective coating?

This may be a good time to announce that Cera2.0 will feature the anti-gravity device that I know damn well Of has been working on.
Or maybe airbags?

I like it. Anti gravity. We really score on V3.0. That one uses the proven anti gravity drive to levitate on demand. With the App uploaded to your iPhone you can program it to levitate through the mail slot of the local dispensary, fill itself up and quietly return to your pocket as you flirt with the sweet young thing at the next table.

We'll need to pay people money to take our other money to the bank for us.....

I knew there was a reason I kept messing around with these things looking for my chance!

Thanks. I'll see you're covered. How about a V3 prototype when they're ready?
