Discontinued Thermovape Alpha Ultralite

I just converted my AVA LR atomizer to wax status

Cool. Come on man, don't leave us hanging, how's it working? Did the wax 'soak into' the ceramic well, does it vape off as well as with Revolution/DART (if you know how they do)?

TIA

I so want to get the ultra body, it's getting closer to being reality. I need to make a few more sales to justify the expense, but I def. want... i have 2x 14500 IMR's just sitting here waiting. I also agree about the AVA LR's they work fine for e cigs juices or for oils, just have to clean regularly.

It's perfect! I'm really glad I got it. I've got a small ball (~2/3 the size of a regular bb) of bubble hash in there and it's really nice. I drained out the juice as well as I could last night but there's a tiny bit left that didn't go away, so my hash tastes like apples and pine trees and dank :smug:

well, hopefully they still have at least one in stock by the time I get around to buying it. I really am at my max right now, just need another month or so to make some payments/room on my CC. I have to admit though, it's been one hell of a ride getting to try all these different vapes. I know SO much I had no idea I was going to be learning about when I ventured into this. I feel like I should be getting some kind of credentials for it... vaping 101 certificate  . I would LOVE to find a way to share what I have learned with others. I have thought about blogging, but my mind isn't always that organized. Maybe it's just the idea that seems too difficult. I know a lot of times once you put these things in motion, they tend to take on a life of their own. At this point I am still gathering info, and by no means think of myself as an expert, but I do have quite a well rounded understanding of most of the vapes on the market right now.

I passed on the ultralite mainly because it just didn't pack quite enough juice for my needs, and I had a hard time pushing the tiny switch up. I am hoping to get a better grip on the Ultra switch since it will be somewhat larger, and more contact w/thumb will be made. I have not been using oils much since getting my hands on so many portable flower vapes, and access to oils is limited to what I make. I am still a big fan of the T1 (esp 3.7v), it's going to be the vape I probably have around the longest. I have not even been at this a full year, and I have a hard time imagining 10 years from now, but assuming TV sticks around that long, and all I have to do is occasionally get a core re-wired, new batteries every so often, I can see this vape lasting a really long time if it doesn't meet some other sad demise aside from failure. That was really what attracted me to TV in the first place. Built to last, easy to fix. I'll be thinking of that ultra...

Has anyone tried using the "plasti dip" type stuff to make a shell over the body? Seems like it would work ok, as long as you protect the insides well. I don't know much about that stuff though. Just what I was reading on line. I have no first hand experience using it.

Lady I've watched part of your odyssey unfold here with enjoyment. A learning adventure of the first order, IMO. Great to want to share your experience, don't look now but you've been doing exactly that.....

I'm confident you'll be able to buy the Ultra later on, it's an important base unit for the AVA line which is not changing at present. Worst thing I can see happening is 'the wrong' name on the bottom?

I'm with you on Ultralite. Neat if it has to be that small, but power is marginal. Going to the 14500s changes all that. From struggle to plenty in one step. And not much longer in the process. I have trouble sometimes dealing with the tiny slide as well, but the larger Ultra window is a big plus as you guessed, the spring is the same but it doesn't cut a groove in your thumb. Maybe if we ask Pipes real nice he'll make us some thumb pads for the Ultra????

Hang in there, in case nobody has stopped to tell you so your contributions here are gold to many. Notice, if you will, the 'likes' from newbies you rack up in the process. Those are good folks who've benefited from your efforts to help them. Please keep it up, it makes this place what it is you know. Educated, objective, well thought through experience and advice. Can't buy that you know.

Thanks again, and if Tim stiffs you on the Ultra order when the time comes, let me know, I'll steal his and mail it to you. In a plain brown wrapper of course......

Thanks for that OF, I do hope to continue to be able to grow and share, and help where I can. I could probably use my posts here as a cross reference to writing a blog of some kind if I ever decide to do so. Maybe an E-book?? I saw one (actually bought it) about vapes that ended up being more of a thick advertisement for the omicron, but it still had some very useful info in it... would help pay for this expensive habit of mine :brow:

to get this back on track.... ULTRA :D get it!! use it!! love it!!

Yer welcome, Lady, you got it coming. All I'm doing is taking notice of it. I too hope you continue to add your perspective to what can be a kind of dry, bordering on dull, conversation at times. Refreshing is a word that comes to mind.

I like the idea of funding your toy activity in part by passing on useful information to those who can benefit from it. IMO there's a huge vacuum when it comes to simple things like instructions for use and cleaning as the makers seem to try to avoid this whole area coming up with 'tobacco' and 'herbal products' and similar terms that are wide of the mark. Couple that with some real performance information and you might have it. Kind of a 'Omicron for Dummies'?? And one for PAX. And MFLB. Don't forget DART......

this thing works great, i agree of the dirtier it gets the better it hits! Sometimes i hit it without the dart and its also great! the best method i find works best is to hit it like a slow sip basically how i hit my mflb same exact technique. it doesnt get too warm, but a benefit of it getting warm is with my wax i know i will get back to back hits without needing to warm it up again. warm up 10 seconds take 2 or 3 hits and literally maybe .03 gets you where you want to be lol beautiful wax taste / mouth coating, then when i want some menthol i pop on a cartomizer and run some ejuice

Two excellent points. I too find performance and pretty don't always go together. I tend to follow results, screw how dirty it is if it's running well I go with it. By the time I finally decide production is suffering it's often kinda nasty in there.....but cleans up well. Some concentrates foul very little, some of my favorites do it in the first load or two. I figure it's to use, not peek into.

I also agree, pulling 'faster than it wants to go' is counterproductive. Too much cool air going in robs power to heat that could be making more vapor and then to add insult to injury it dilutes what's left down....

We also agree on charge size it seems. I'll load .050 (or at least shoot for that) and get two or even 3 sessions of a couple heavy hits each before adding more. Frugal with the goods on one end, serious performance on the other.....

Thanks.

Seems to me that you should be getting vaping 301 credentials, not 101. And you've been sharing what you've learned here for all the time I've been a member.

I've been OK so far with my UltraLite and PG (exclusively), but I still suspect I should have just gotten the Ultra. The UltraLite 10440 batteries just don't last very long, and it's been hard to get really good (IMR) cells in that size. Approx 50% of the cells I've received have been sub-standard, with wildly varying capacities (some only half the capacity of good cells, some with essentially no capacity, etc).

I want to say so many good things about the Ultra and some quality oil, but I'm still kinda out of it from this... 1 drop, like .075, and one fresh battery. And one piece.

No need to say anything more. The video just said it all.....

I'll bet there's a few more of those in that 75 mg load?

Thanks, glad you're enjoying the Ultra, quite elegant really doncha think?

Just tried to order the Dart from TV, they said that they don't manufacture the device any more. Anyone has any info?

If you are not using the Dart, will the rev- window core do the same job?

Thanks,

It still amazes me how many hits I get out of three drops of PG in my DART. Usually more than one day worth!

Sunset: Did you ask them if they could make you a custom DART using the AVA shell and the DART inner works? This is identical to a DART except for the enscription on the shell.

Hi Haywood,
----that's why I want to get the Dart/rev. I used to have a omincron, I was only able to get around 50 -70 hit off the .5g of PG. And it only gives shallow hits.

Have you try it on those Ego twist? Planing to get couple of those VV Eco twist bat. And a Dart. (but now they sell sell them anymore).

Just went to there website, seems like they're releasing some new products?

Absolutely true; new TV stuff supposed to be unveiled later today. (It's Nov 1st already where I am).

Only thing I've tried with PG is the DART (both the 3.7v single cell and the 6v double cell versions). All my other experiences with vaping have been with herb. I got into concentrates (specifically PG) due to the extensive airline traveling I've been subject to lately. Flying with an E-Cig (Apex UltraLite) and a couple of well packed PG ampules is pretty safe.

I've never even seen any of the other concentrate vapes; I think OF has experience with a number of them. All I recall is that you have to make sure you use the proper voltage, make sure the thread is the same, and that the air vents near the threads aren't blocked, and finally, check to make sure the power source has sufficient current to drive the core you choose.

-- matter of fact, one of the reasons I'm choosing the Ego twist is easy for traveling ( TSA see these e cig all the times). Do you just put it in your carry on or in your checked bag? Did the TSA ever ask you questions? I agree that travel with 1or 2g of PG /hash is much more manageable than herb.

I travel with the UltraLite in my carry-on bag (but the PG is packed in my checked bag, and I've never needed to pack more than two ampules, 1g worth). TSA hasn't questioned it at all, and I've been through TSA security at least a dozen times with it. As packed, it's just an E-Cig, and I even put a tiny vial of E-Juice inside the case with it.

btw, not a big deal, but it would be much easier to read your replies if they were outside the quoted area. Just start replying after the closing [/quote] tag instead of before it...

Haywood,

Yeah, well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
From what I can tell, it sounds like they'll be replacing it with the next generation, but still service the old ones.

EDIT: guess we'll find out soon what that is....

I hate to be the latecomer. Ive been on a long quest of trying to find the best concentrate (budder/wax/oil) vaporizer out there(strictly for those only). Ive been using the stok/gpen a while but the d cartridges cost too much to constantly replace with my heavy usage, not only that but i want a better portable vape. Omicron or the revolution/ultra/ultralite from what i understand in all these posts is my best bet? Can someone straight up tell me a "shopping list" so to say of which ones best and what to buy to ensure good long lasting portable vaping all the time. Average of about 7-10 0.1-0.2 tokes per day. Im also in Canada if that has any relation.
Im thinking the revolution? Should i wait for the new products? I tried very hard to keep up on all the posts and reviews and updates from all of you, so i apologize for not grasping it all enough to create my own list and preferences but I feel lost lol.

Really appreciate any time you guys further put into helping me out, and I heavily appreciate all the time you have put into general research of all these products.

Thanks everyone.:spliff:

Howdy, Ace, welcome to the fun. Not to worry about being late for the start of the party, we didn't realize you were coming or we'd have waited.

You believe that? Thought I'd try anyway...... Glad you caught up with us!

I'm a little worried about the levels you're talking about, a gram a day? That's serious use, Revolution may well be your best bet but it's seriously out in nail and swing country. Most hits I know about are less than 10 mg each, not 100 to 200. If that number is real, you may have some serious problems finding a portable vape.

As you may or may not know, Revolution/DART is being upgraded....like right this minute in fact. The original models are no longer available from the maker (there's a chance you can find one at a dealer) while the new model is being introduced. It sounds like it will work about the same but with much improved design and battery life. The thread is currently in the 'new threads' section, you can follow the fun there:
http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/thermovape-cera.7504/

You'll note it's growing at two pages a day even though 'nobody' has tried it yet...... Keep those running shoes on and laced up, 'they went thatta way'. Join you over there?
