Guy's looking for a quality portable vaporizer for herb between the arizer solo and inhalater, thermovape t1, pax. What are the pro's and con's of each unit ?

One is a pocket vape for stealth vaping. The other is half portable-half home vape. It all depends on how you want to use it. It's like buying an all wheel drive vehicle. Do you want to go off-road and bounce around in the dirt, or just be able to get down the road when it snows?

The size is not a matter of concern for me, i can work with either.
I am most concerned about taste, efficiency of extracting the thc, if device can be used with hash, battery life, reliability/quality of the vaporizer in the long run.

I also have the thermovape Revolution so i can buy a conversion kit and make it the Thermovape T1. So basically the contenders are Solo, Inahalater, Thermovape T1 and also the new Pax.

Can you guy's suggest which would suit me best in terms of taste, efficiency of extracting the thc, if device can be used with hash, battery life, reliability/quality of the vaporizer in the long run.

The Pax is the only one of those I've used. If taste is a prime concern, it is probably not the device you want. The lowest temperature setting for the Pax is 185°C/365°F, which destroys the flavour quickly. It heats the oven continuously whenever it is on, which causes the taste to deteriorate faster and creates odour. It also adds its own note to the flavour. I don't find it unpleasant, just different.

It extracts well, especially if you go to the highest temperature, but again that kills the taste in a hurry. You can turn your ABV nearly black if you can stand the taste.

I've not tried it with hash but I did drop some loose kief in there as an experiment. It didn't work well for me.

The battery is supposed to last about two hours, but that depends on how you use it. If you turn it on and off frequently then you'll use a lot of battery life just heating it up. Of course the high setting uses up the battery faster.

The build quality is high. Despite the rash of complaints in the Pax thread, it is a reliable device provided that you learn how to clean it properly and keep the spring and retraction mechanism free from resin.

The Solo is the only one I've used. If taste is a prime concern, the Solo makes a pretty decent device as the glass stems and relatively lower heat settings allow for pure flavor for a few tokes. The heating chamber on the Solo also continuously heats, so if you let it sit, it's not going to do you any favors.

The Solo also extracts really well, browns the AVB evenly and will go as light or dark as you desire.

Hash and concentrates work no better or worse than any other vape I've used, but it's still not ideal for concentrates by any means.

The battery on the Solo is somewhere between good and fantastic. They changed the LED battery indicator to be a lot more conservative with recent models. This means when the Solo displays no battery remaining, there is actually quite a bit left. They do this to discourage DEEP discharges of the Li-ion battery pack, which decreases the overall battery lifespan.

If you go off of the battery indicator, the Solo has pretty good battery life, I can easily make it vaked through a whole day off of one charge and still have the indicator on 1 or 2.

If you go off of the actual battery life, the Solo has pretty exceptional battery life. When a few buddies come over to waste a lazy Sunday, the Solo can still manage. I've yet to drain the Solo all the way.

Build quality is high on the Solo as well. It's been around a while, and is a bit of a tank. Aluminum

Now where does the Solo fall behind?

It isn't nearly as portable as either the Pax or INH, and it's also not as stylish. Dealing with stems is a bit of a hassle at times. The stems only hold about .1-.2 which isn't enough for some people. If you have a few people around, you may have to load multiple stems, and each one takes a few minutes to take down.

Somebody with an INH or Thermovape T1 want to do a similar overview?

Been looking at slim's video of the pax and this thing is truly portable in the real sense, stealth, small enough for the pocket. Since its a conduction unit i think hash might just work quite well in it too.

Guy's arizer solo, inhalater and thermovape t1 .... which of these are conduction and which are convection ?

arizer solo - combo convection / conduction
inhalater - combo convection / conduction
thermovape t1 - convection

IMHO, an Arizer Solo would fit your needs perfectly.

Oh, come on! You can't just leave it at that!

Reasons? I'd love to hear some solid user input, even if you don't care to type up a whole lot. :)

1. Can you list out specifically why you prefer the Inhalator, is it the taste/vapor quality ?
2. If you had to compare pax and inhalater head to head, please state the advantages of the inhalater ?

After looking at the video of pax i am strongly considering its just too easy to load not too many parts like the inhalater's capsule thing, stealth, small, stylish features and portable. I think the arizer is not a contender after looking at these two new hi tech units pax/inhalater, considering the fact that i have a VHW/DBV as my regular heavy hitters for home use, the new unit should be able to prove its worth for portable/outdoor/cinema/restaurant situations.

Yeah, I would say go for the inhalater too (own both). The taste is the best I've ever had out of a portable. Battery life is better too. The vapor quality and output is incredible. It may not look at sexy as the pax... but looks don't make a good vape.

The inhalater's pluses:
  • a much less restricted draw (the best of any portable I've used)
  • better tasting vapor/less noticeable smell (pax kills flavor even on low, and the inhalater has wonderful flavor up to around 6 on the dial [I don't recommend using it higher without a waterpipe/smooth-flow mouthpiece because of harshness anyways])
  • the advantage of being easier to attach to other vapes' accessories (using tubing with a 1/4" internal diameter [which comes supplied with the device in short segments], and I definitely recommend getting the thermovape smooth-flow mouthpiece if you go with the thermovape or inhalater)
  • it has pretty incredible battery life (I've never run out, and I've smoked up 20+ people at a local event)
  • capsules are easy to fill and don't require stirring
  • charges via micro usb which means that it's easy to charge it anywhere (and can be used while charging)
  • Gives more even abv than most other vapes I've used
Minuses:
  • Doesn't do concentrates
And you only need to carry one cartridge with you (which can be left in the device) to use it- I personally like using centrifuge tubesto store herb on the go because they're airtight, cheap enough to be disposable (a couple cents each), and they line up perfectly with capsules.

(I just notice that I overuse parenthesis when I'm vaped, sorry [sort of])

EDIT: Finished cleaning this post up. I still have too many parentheticals though

VAPOLITICS!
So I own and use all of those and if I try to do a short resume of the objective pros & cons that's what it looks like IMO:

INH004: PRos: taste, battery, charge usb, charg n vape option, good airflow, light weight , clouds, glass versatility. Cons: Hard to find, really!
Pax: Pros: Size, looks, design, clouds. Cons: maintenance, less versatile
T1: Pros: Heat potency, totally cleanable, almost unbreakable, PA option, super versatile but with all attachments. Cons: Battery life, possible combustion, price of the attachments.
Solo: Pros: Dumb proof vapo (no learning curve, no combustion), lithium battery. Cons: size, glass (can be a pro for some but for a portable those stem are a silly thing IMO), no charge n vape option, airflow restricted.

;)

The inhalater is hard to find? PlanetVape and TheOtherSide always seem to have it in stock

Solo has proven reliability, although its bulkier. Inhalater is too new for long term reliability to be known, I've seen talk of a new model already in the works as well?

The INH004XP will be a free upgrade (at least for the other side customers) and is more of a version 1.1 than a completely new model. (the new new model is due ~2014 and has internet capability and a display. not joking)

Guy's thanks for taking the time and effort and giving me all the great insight. I am sold on the inhalater it has the real advantages like taste, precise temperature control/efficiency, good battery life.

I see that vapeworld also carries the inhalater. Which site is the best place to order it from ?
One last question i need to order some extra capsules and accessories which site has capsules in stock ?

Anymore comparisons between the Solo vs INH? My girlfriend is using my MFLB since she is quiting combustion and we are contemplating getting her an INH. I have a Solo already and she feels the MFLB lacks power for her.

The INH is also dumb proof, maybe more than the solo. No glass, easier to draw.
One con though ;) : The temp setting is a bit loose and the vape can be turned on accidently in the pocket. Happened just two days ago and hopefully it was on a vaped bowl. To prevent that I just put a unaesthetic piece of tape.
The PAX looks really good, and I also like the hits. It cools downs a bit slower than the inh, but faster than the solo.

I really like the solo, The flavor it gives is possibly the best outa any vape ive used, and the battery power is great also. I havent tried the INH so i cant say much about it but I love my solo

Guys awesome discussion here, I think i am sold on the Inhaler... but worried that since it's new to the market, it might have some defects initially as all new vaps seem to have... really hard justifying over 200 bucks. Should i just go for the flying launch box instead? which can be found for under 100. I am most concerned with the quality/consistency of the vapor and portability second. Many thanks!
