How to clean vape parts and reclaim resin

It can withstand heat if you decide you need some help speeding the evap. process up

How does everyone here store his wand hash? The reason I ask is that (1) it is very sticky and difficult to access in a lot of containers; and (2) because of its stickiness, it is hard to manipulate so as to vape (e.g., forming it into a disc, putting a ball in the cyclone bowl with flowers, etc.).

Due to the fact that some parts are oily, and some crystalized, I personally store my wand hash on a small white correlle dish (saucer sized.. but flat), and I sit that dish in a drawer to keep it dust free.

If you plan on evaporating, use Isopropyl alcohol as it should evaporate the most cleanly. 99 or 50%, it doesn't really matter, higher percentages will work faster, the remaining percentage should be water only. Read the label. Grain alcohol contains trace amounts of sugar which can end up in your resin. Other alcohols contain bittering agents and nasty shit you don't want in your resin. See below for evaporation methods.

I'm quite sure all isopropyl alcohol in stores contains bittering agents to prevent consumption, I would use a consumable alcohol to evaporate. I only use iso for cleaning.

Can you get consumable alchohol over 40% in Canada?

Thanks

I always look forward to cleaning my MFLB stem! Except I somehow lost the long glass stem, and now only use the shorty stem. It builds up faster, but it's not as much. It's a nice "opener" pushing a little bit of cotton through it and going at it like Vito mentioned to me a while ago, leading right into a full trench of some of the finest I've personally seen. Maybe a little bit of extra kief on top, a perfect cup of tea, good tunes... good times with this shit. Plus it's free!

I watched someone reclaim from a bong using a method I hadn't thought of.
he put warm iso into the piece and swish it around. when all the goodies are in the iso, he rubber banded a filter over the top and put it in the freezer. after its cold, he inverts it over a pie dish and blows into the stem hole to push the amber iso through the filter leaving waxes (and a hair) behind on the filter.

just cleaned out my vapor bong, waiting on the iso to evaporate. first time actually cleaned it and using the left overs.

so am i a big dummy that has been wasting useable product for so many years?? i always use ISO to clean my DBV glass, solo stems, and my bongs. so for instance.... i place my DBV wands in a ziplock bag with ISO and i shake the bags till the ISO is all brownish-goldish in color. i then pour the ISO down the sink and wash the wands with hot water to finish cleaning. are you telling me, that instead of pouring the ISO from the bag down the sink, i COULD be pouring the ISO from the bag through a filter onto a pyrex dish and after the ISO evaporates i have useable product?? if that is the case i will be banging my head against the wall for all the YEARS of useable product i wasted!!!!

I do not even pour it through a filter. I like to just pour it straight onto a dish!
(I don't mind the crumbs... I am going to vape it anyway!)

Shit is damned messy to work with.. I've 3/4 oz of abv awaiting transformation into some oil to be used with a hmk curve I picked up from PV awhile back awaiting my first experience with dabbing but for some reason cannot be arsed to make it. I'm outa green too... its sucks and blows in equal measures :(

Yes. Put ISO in, shake shake shake, then pour out onto a flat pan. Let the ISO and water evaporate, and then scrape it up with a razor and vape! It's condensed vapor.

Did my first wand reclaim this week and the results are very impressive! I have a few glass pieces which were embedded with resin; I let each one soak in the same tub of ISO for a few hours. Just enough ISO to cover the entirety of the wands. Soon the ISO became almost black. I transferred the ISO to a glass casserole or brownie pan and rested the pan on the floor near my radiator. Two days later, the ISO had evaporated. From there I scraped the remaining residue with a butter knife which resulted in a significant gob of gooey hash which was remarkably potent. Can't wait to do this again!

when you transferred the blackened ISO to the glass pan... did you filter it or just pour it into the glass pan?? Vitolo says he does not filter but others have said they did... just curious which one you did?

no filtering; it was just as I described. there really was very little to it. in fact I didn't even have 90+ ISO; it was in the 70 percent range. didn't affect the rate of evaporation or if it did it was negligible.
i chose to smoke the hash in a little pipe - it's very sticky and gooey - and I felt that it could only gum up my SSV wand screen. this reclaim hash turned out to be more potent than the official hash i had bought a few weeks ago.

another great side benefit to vaping....

AWESOME!!!!! glad to hear that you didn't even use 99% or even 91% and still got awesome results!!! one of my DBV wands is almost golden in color from all the buildup in it and the other wand, although not as bad needs a cleaning too. i dont have easy access to 99% but can get 91% or 70% anywhere.

i have a bong that i use for my friends that combust and just don't like to vape. it is FILTHY with resin. do you think i can use this method on it too?? or is combustin remains different from vape remains??

I really don't know - this was my first experiment. vapor resin would in my opinion have to be cleaner and probably richer than smoke tar. so far this is quite a lot of fun!

This looks similar as to what I was left with.
As the kids say, "it's all good." Even the stuff around the sides.
I picked up a pollen press for $6 on Ebay, figuring that it would be useful for this - it wasn't.
For straight kief I could see its utility.

Mine evaporated in a glass brownie pot and it was very easy to scrape and nudge it all off with a butter knife. It did make a very enjoyable smoke, I have to say. It even had that nice sweet taste and aroma that "real" hashish has.... wish I had more.

well i can't wait to try this :) the edges still look a little wet, so i am going to give it a little more time before i give in to my urge

It is oil, but it is condensed vapor... not concentrate type oil.
You could use a nail, but itb would leave residues , (whoch would burn off...)
I scarpe everything together into one gob.... and put it on a bed of ABV in the Buddha
(or sandwiched between layers in the solo)
