Phoenix has dogs on leashes walking around with TSA officers, so I would say it is not improbable to expect dogs inside airports whether local or international flying is to be.
I was at an Auto Zone and the had a DC to AC converter that handled 90 watts and I only paid 20 bucks for it. Just plug the converter into your 12 volt 'cigarette lighter' socket in your car, plug in the Pax charger to the converter and you are good to go my friend!

The problem with the one I have is that the car needs to be on when using it which normally isn't bad but while camping, I find it wasteful to turn on my car and waste gas just to charge my Pax.

These are probably bomb sniffing dogs that are not trained to smell out/look for MJ.

HSIHP,
I just know that batteries have memories, and some things it doesn't bother them to leave on the charger, and others, it will kill them. I know that a battery that I had in my phone the longer I left it on the charger, the faster it would die. So I would charge it during the day, when it needed it and then put it in airplane mode at night to save the battery.

I just ddn't know if people had problems with it staying on the charger or not..

I generally keep my Pax on its charger when not in use, but I've had my unit for just over a week I can't add any personal experience to the subject. However, since the Pax contains a lithium ion battery, it doesn't have "memory." Theoretically, keeping the unit attached to the charger shouldn't greatly affect its performance, nor should you have to constantly fully charge and discharge the battery to "cycle" it. The only large issue with these types of batteries is the natural"decay" via time, usage, and temperature.

Since we're on the subject of batteries, I may be leaving the country for 3-6 months. What's the best way to store my pax for this long a time. I don't want to leave it on the charger the whole time, but I also don't want to have a dead battery that won't take a charge when I get back. I thought about letting my friend that's a combustioner babysit it and throw it on the charger once in a while. He's not quite sold on vaporizing yet, so it could convert him as well.

I think those are bomb dogs or I am writing from jail.

Edit: I need to ask about the batteries again. Doesn't the pax have a lithium ion battery? I remember reading way early in the thread that the pax batt needs to be trained. If it is a lithium ion I thought you just have to keep those charged as much as possible and not let it run down. I also thought I read, which will help dammit, that those types of batteries won't discharge all the way cause there is a fail safe. If that is true then it is the same batt a good number of vapes and dammit should have no issue leaving it for months.

The recommended way to store li-ion batteries is in a cool dry place, partially charged to 40%. dudeeitsbrian posted that the Pax won't let you discharge the battery past about 50%, so drain it to red and you should be fine. You probably don't need to do anything else if it's 3-6 months.

Why partially charged and not 100% charged?

You can purchase a replacement cigarette socket for around 5 bucks, solder a couple of alligator clips to it and connect it directly to your battery.

If your socket does not charge with the car off, how will the $90 charger work better?

Thank you. That one is fairly new. I haven't cleaned it yet, but I usually clean my glass every 3 months. They are barely resinated when I clean them, but I only use my vapes through my glass except for one bong strictly used for oils.

Hello everyone, I'm a 29 old years old guy from France who started using vaporizers about 5 months ago instead of smoking and I own an arizer solo which I'm pretty happy with.

However, I decided to go for a pax because it's so tiny and easier to carry. So I managed to order one and have it delivered to a friend of mine who lives in Quebec and he shipped me the items to France.

The whole stuff arrived today and I plugged the dock to charge my pax with the power adapter that was provided with my solo. (that kind of stuff http://www.rc-france-modelisme.com/...ur-prise-usa-uk-vers-france-2-poles-terre.jpg ).

Less than 2 seconds later, I heard a "pcccchhhhhh" sound and a very strong garbage bag like smell, so I unplugged all as fast as I could.

So, I'm sitting with my brand new (out of battery) pax, and I don't know if the problem comes from :
- the power adapter provided by pax itself (I doubt that)
- the adaptator provided with the arizer solo which used to work great (I doubt that too)
- the power adapter isn't made to work on french electric circuit

Good news is the pax itself wasn't on the dock when I plugged it, so I'm sure it's safe.

According to the smell coming from the power adapter, I think it's 100% dead.

If I have to order a new dock from ploom, it's going to be a pain in the ass since I already paid shipping and customs, and it's probably end in the same disaster.

So if anybody has informations about what I can do except shoving my pax up my ass, feel free to answer on the thread or mp me.

I don't know if I can buy a "lambda" power adapter that would work for me.

I hope everybody managed to understand my story, sorry if my english was hard to understand.

Sincerely,

Sylvain

Sounds to me like you will need a new charger. Sorry about your experience. I wonder if you can still use the docking station, and just replace the wall adapter?? Did the docking/charging station take any damage?

I don't know, that's the problem... No smell comes from the dock itself, but I'm pretty afraid to plug my pax on it now.

I don't know if I'll find an adpater that will suit in France. What a shit day.

Yeah, I would not try to use the power cord. Hmmm give this a little time, maybe somebody here will have an answer for you. I would think that if the docking station did not melt or anything, it's still fine, it's just plastic and contacts. I would, however, not plug that wall adapter back in again. Keep it for the data (specs) in case there is an alternative out there. Good to know what the power requirements are.

the problem is pretty simple...look at the charger specs...110_140 v...if you put it in 220V, only result is "psssssshhhhh" ...you need a current transformer.

BTW, I'm french and have a Pax, so I know (but I also have a transformer;-) Désolé mais t'as grillé ton chargeur de pax!

EDIT: you need this type of transformer (100 watts & above):

So I've been on a tolerance break for a couple weeks now(so much easier since I've started vaping, opposed to combustion) and I pulled my pax out to drain my battery a little bit for storage on Pakalolo's advice(thanks again) and I noticed my pax is stinks despite giving it a decent cleaning before I put it away.

Whoever suggested extracting the spring, thanks because it made a huge difference. I didn't use the mflb brush(don't have one), but a small screwdriver and slowly rotated the spring until it protruded out far enough so I could grab it and carefully pull it out. I soaked the spring, which was only somewhat dirty, but I was able to get an iso moistened pipe cleaner really deep into the cavity where the spring sits and give it a good cleaning, right to the bottom. The pipe cleaner was pretty filthy when I was done with it. Once finished, I just popped the spring back in and put the mouth piece back on to push it back down.

Now my pax is smelling like it's brand new, and the mouth piece action is nice and smooth again as well. I can't recommend doing this deep cleaning enough, especially if your pax is starting to smell or you have poor mouth piece connection issues.

Isn't that area on the outside of the air path tube? Why is it getting so dirty? I saw the pics but I didn't get it then and don't now. It almost seems like the air path floats inside the pax unless I am seeing wrong which would be no surprise.

I think that area gets so dirty because resin will build up in mouth piece, which is along the vapour path, and when you push the mouth piece back down to turn it off, the inner diameter of the mouth piece overlaps the outer diameter of the vapour path tube in the pax unit, transferring resin to that area. There is a clip inside that area that both holds the mouth piece in place and makes the contact connection between the mouth piece and the vapour path tube in order to activate the heating mode. If too much resin builds up in that area, the resin will interrupt that connection which causes the heating mode to switch on and off. Hope that makes sense.

I have some dental brushes that look like this:

I know it's best to clean the PAX while it's still hot, but I'm worried about the bristles melting upon contact with the metal. Am I wrong to be worried?

It's been almost a month, and every problem I've had has been easily remedied by a quick, painless cleaning.
