Honestly if anyone is having any mouthpiece problems I would contact Pax directly for a new one immediately because I have not had one problem described by anyone yet.

I have contacted them directly. They told me to contact VapeWorld :-). Oh well, I'm waiting for VapeWorld's live chat to open for today.

Can we say that the Pax is the best portable vaporizer currently on the market ?

No I definitely can't say that. I have very limited experience with portable vaporizers, but the amount of issues I'm having currently definitely dissuades me from proclaiming it the best portable vape.

I'll reserve further judgement if/when I get a replacement.

Ok, thanks for your answer.
And, did anyone already have health issues due to pax ?

Dr. Nick,
Well I have gotten my pax and it works awesome but its just not for me. The taste is to different then im used to. I think its a well made product and i was seeing clouds of vaper.

...no. The Pax does not make people sick.

Well I have gotten my pax and it works awesome but its just not for me. The taste is to different then im used to.

So it works great but after trying it one time you find the flavor different. Isn't it common for pretty much any vape / bong / pipe to have a break-in period?

We're here to fuck shit up.
I really like the Pax a lot, but I cannot say that it is the best portable on the market. It seems that all the portables have their own quirks and bugs. If it weren't for all of the issues with the Pax then I would say it is the best portable in the sense of design and ease of use.

I've used many different vaporizers, the only one I've used with a 0% failure rate is the Supreme, but damn that hot block.

Supreme actually might have made ME sick, but thats another story...
Anyway I hope there is no noticeable plastic taste, I have sensitive taste/smell and have a lot of chemical sensitivities. Though from what I have read people are saying it gives good flavor, yes??

I see people having issues now but I am definitely planning on getting one at some point.

IMO it is one of the tastiest vaporizers i have ever used.

No plastic taste at all.

The vapor path is all stainless steel.

The only plastic in the vapor path is the mouthpiece you are pulling from.

No plastic taste there either.

I have had every issue with my Pax that has been listed here.

1. Mouthpiece not staying down. ( No problem being stuck closed in the down position yet )

2. Temp light stuck

3. Temp light coming on while heating up.

But i was able to fix the issues every time with a good cleaning.

So far so good.....

I will admit that when I first got mine there was a strange taste to it. But I kind of expected it being a fresh product using SS. I didn't do a dry burn off run and for the first 2 or 3 bowls there was a strange , not bad, just different. It did go away though and very quickly at that. I think the first few hits of the Pax are amazing and really give you a great flavor profile of what you are vaping at that time but once the bowl is half baked you just get the nutty ABV taste though you still get pretty great clouds.

I did not notice any bad smells or flavors from my Pax out of the box, and as far as I have been paying attention I have not seen anyone mention it making them sick at all. My pax is still working good since the last cleaning. I have been switching between the new and older mouthtpiece as well.

As far as Best portable goes, I think that would be subjective as to how it fills your needs/wants in a portable. I really like the Pax but until there are no more minor function issues, I can't consider it Best...anything. When it's working right, it ROCKs though.

I agree with that as well. I have experienced most of the issues discussed to some degree or another. However, in the end, a good cleaning has addressed the issues and I am very happy with the performance of the device...

There is no best, but I will say this... The Launch Box didn't have mouthpiece problems that rendered the unit unusable. And for more precise flower dosing, I think the LB would be a better bet here, since the Pax likes a tight pack (that usually sets you back .3, but with the benefit of more cannabinoids at once if you need it.)

Ploom is addressing the problem as best they can, from my understanding it's just some 20-something-year-olds that had an idea and got some money together. It looks fantastic and almost everyone that has used one or bought one absolutely loves it.

I'm still getting some misbehavior on the mouthpiece with the temp light. It's currently handleable by pulling on the mouthpiece a little bit and being careful when I use it. And while the spring action is decent right now, I'm awfully curious what it'll be like in a few hours.

So, next morning now. Mouthpiece action is fine, and the temp indicator issue has eased considerably. Guess the cleaning was pretty effective.

I am a little bummed it needed such a cleaning after only three days use as my primary vape. I'm hoping this one was luck of the draw with resin getting in just the wrong place, but otherwise that's pretty maintenance intensive. My MFLB and Silver Surfer need cleaning more on the every few weeks basis.

I think the electrical charges that are being conducted through the spring / mouthpiece / vapor path are very low, and it seems that almost anything in there can interfere with the connection. Given that, I think some Paxs are arriving with some crap in that general area already. Maybe

Well, I really love the Pax! I have had one for about a month now and I usually use it at least once a day. (i have other home based vapes that I use once I am home for the evening) It delivers great hits! :p Sometimes I pack it full and other times I pack it about half full (but make sure it is pressed down tight) It gets me super medicated :freak: using the medium and high setting. I usually start off on orange and then move to red after a stir. Most times when get to the end of an oven load I am more than satisfied for a couple of hours. I use it and and then mostly clean it as soon as I finish a load. I have used ISO 91 to clean it (very sparingly) I mostly clean it with a dry pipe cleaner and then use a little ISO about once a week. So far no problems with MP (it's a new style one) or indicator lights.

I do not consider myself a light weight by any means, but some might be using this as their primary vape (several times a day) and that just means it needs to be cleaned more often. :ninja: It's been awhile since I posted in this thread, but I have to say that I have been very impressed with this little device! :peace:

In the longer term, I'm going back to using the SSV for primary at home. Aside from maintenance, it's just much, much more efficient than having to toast a whole Pax oven-full at once. Having greater ability to stir, plus convection vs. conduction just seems to be a win in the larger vapes.

Even counting the longer time I get out of the Pax load, I'd say it's roughly double the consumption from the SSV. But as a portable on light duty for movies, concerts, camping, etc, I suspect I'll be just fine with it.

That's my take as well. I bought the Pax because for me, it's a great vape to use when out of the house, though I've spend many nights at home using it.

I'm also looking at an SSV for home.
