Please vote for the style you would prefer.

Keep in mind that this picture is only a mockup, and that production costs may have a significant influence as well.

I am who I am and your approval isn't needed!
I voted 'round', but the hex is fine provided (as mentioned in the other thread), that a flat be positioned under the stem for tilting as long as it doesn't interfere with stability.

I was really excited about the hex base. I'll be disappointed if we lose it. A bottom-heavy piece that accepts many types of vapes was the goal, I thought... I hope it sticks :D

One thought is thickness and cost. I have a feeling that a thick round base will cost significantly more to produce than a hex base of equal thickness. I'd prefer a round base, but not if it's thin. Hopefully PlanetVape can chime in here.

I don't see why. I actually thought the hex would cost more.

I have to admit the hex does look hella sturdy.

I have a couple pieces with hex bases. They're nice and thick, and if you're careful durability isn't a problem. Corners do tend to be more prone to getting banged on things though, and a round base of equal size is more stable IME.

What if we like the round base on this, bu the hex base on the one PV posted? I like the round on the shorter one, but much prefer the hex on the taller one.

I voted hex, since PV proto is the larger one.

Another great poll, we voted no preference to stay neutral. We will also post this in the PV FC Bubbler thread.

The orientation of the hex base is such that the flat part will rest along the table edge to bring the mouthpiece closer to you = less bending forward. The hex base is very wide, heavy and stable as well as raising the height of the mouthpiece by almost an inch without needing a longer gooseneck.

The hex base is produced for scientific grade glass instruments to keep them level and stable and fits the FC Bubbler can size perfectly, if you look at the weld, it looks almost like one piece with the can. The hex base is less expensive to use because of the labor needed to turn a round one on the lathe. The hex base was suggested by an FC member and seeing as it cost slightly less to use due to labor savings, we used those savings to put towards increasing the glass wall thickness from 2.2 to 3.2mm heavy wall glass. We will need to check again about pricing for round base and 3.2mm heavy wall glass.

In the end both bases are very stable and more or less just boils down to personal preference, smokum makes a good point that if you needed to tilt it back or forth for any reason, the flat edge of the hex base will make it a lot easier to keep stable while tilted.

Given a Stop Sign is an Octagon, I doubt you would've voted for that
[/pedantic]

I voted for no preference.

I have a few pieces with Hex Bases, and a few with round bases, and I've never really noticed a difference in their stability.
Since I like the look of both of them equally, I voted no Preference (Since The Hex is cheaper, does that make a no preference vote a de-facto hex vote?)

I've seen a few people mentioning changing their vote...
Am I missing something?
I thought once you voted, that was that?
