I was curious if a tube with an inner diameter of 5/16" will fit around a connector that has an OD of 3/8"?

Thanks in advance

It is the extreme Q stock tube, I'm guessing vinyl it doesn't give a whole lot unless its warm. and the connector is a silver surfer pipe adapter piece, made of glass.

I could order silicone tubing if needed

Yes, but the typical size is 1/4" ID, 3/8" OD. With some wands/mouthpieces, you need to dip the end of the tubing in boiling water for about 5-10 sec. to make for more flexibility in the tubing.

Hi Everyone,

I was looking to order some tubing from US Plastic until I ran into this just yesterday: https://www.vaporstore.com/proddetail.php?prod=Tubing-M-5-ft.

It is also medical grade, but I'm a little surprised by how cheap it is compared to similar silicone tubing found elsewhere. What do you guys think? Should I just go with the US Plastic tubing or go with Vapor Store and save a bit of cash? Thanks!

Amazon has the same quality silicone tubing. See here:

:D Good point!

Thanks for the help guys! I had looked at the Amazon tubing as well as the Silcon brand, but just wasn't sure about it since it isn't marked as "medical grade". So I guess the regular silicone works just as well as the high end stuff?

It meets the "NSF 51" standard (see nsf.org), defined as "plastics used in food equipment". Essentially it means the same, e.g., the Arizer stock pvc tubing has NSF 51 imprinted on it.

I've been singing the praises of the tygon 3350 on a recommendation early on in the Arizer Eq thread.. I probably paid too much(saying that alot recently)but I've enough to last me years i think. So very much better than the stock!

i have used my whip a few times on my Extreme Q. Def different than a regular bag, but a good high nonetheless.

Finding a bong with just the right amount of drag for your own preference can be a bitch. Vapor bongs are my favourite though. Mom nom.

Any tips on where I could get some clear silicone tubing for my q? I'd like to avoid ordering online if possible. I'm also in South Florida if anybody knows some local places.

The two sources posted a number of times in this thread are U.S. Plastics and Amazon, both online (the links are easy to find with a Search). I've looked at the major retailers (HD, ACE, etc.) and never found silicone - only pvc, vinyl, rubber, and latex. I suspect you would need to go to an industrial or lab supply store. Whatever you find, be sure it is NSF-51 (food/medical grade); the dimensions are 5/16 ID x 7/16 OD.

Try a home brewing equipment store.

Could I possibly get a wand from another hose vape?

Yes. I'm pretty sure I recall posts a long time back about using the SSV tubing. While the Q's tubing is 5/16" ID, the SSV uses 3/8". But because it is silicone it has sufficient elasticity to apparently work fine. You can also get tubing from some of the online vape stores, like this:

https://www.vaporstore.com/proddetail.php?prod=Tubing-M-5-ft

I'd of thought of that last time I replied, but you know how it is when . . . :myday:

EDIT: After checking the SSV site, appears they are now offering this "better than silicone" tubing, in several lengths.

Those 7th floor hoses look nice, can anyone confirm they work with the arizer q? I can't wait till I work up the funds for a custom SSV though.

Also what's the general consensus here for using the fan with the whip? I never do but my friend that also has an extreme won't hit the whip unless the fan is on 2. Personally I don't like the feeling that my lungs are being inflated by the air.

What is the best silicone to get?

You can also get NSF-51 on Amazon. Little more expensive than U.S. Plastics, but shipping is cheaper.

There is tubing sold that claims "food grade" or "medical grade", but you only can be sure by looking at its specification. Both that at Amazon and the Tygon, meet the spec.
