hey sticks If you have a PA for your'e LB the power supply which is 12V will work for your e Hi.also the car adapter forthe PA works too for travel:ninja:.I Bought static supplies for around the house.just type 5.5/2.1 12v power supply into ebay.look for the word "regulated" in the description if you can.thats a better option.Mine are not but work 24/7 nd they cost me $5 a piece.cheap but work fine.

BDV look at that.So happy for you Man.What do you think of the Hi.when do we get a review and how quick did the Hi milk that Saxo.3 seconds flat!.Is the saxo a suitable piece or are you prefering the BDV special for the Hi?I m sure Mom loved the katy perry or whoever it was!

Thanks, its really been an eye-opening and butt-kicking 4 days. Vapor is almost instantaneous and just ripping combustion type clouds. Both the Saxo and the BDV have their niches. I prefer the hit/pull of the Leviathan. Only thing I don't like, is its harder to gauge the hits, because you can't see vapor in the BDV until ts coming out the showerhead. Hard to gauge what is behind that. The Saxo lets you watch the density, all the way thru. Its got a nice pull. However, drag effects the Saxo, far more than the BDV. If the load gets packed (all my herb is MFLB grind, so its easy), the BDV just pulls right thru it. The Saxo is a bit more obvious.

Both will knock you silly on a 1st pull.... but the BDV, literally knocked me on my ass. First piece I grabbed when it came, loaded it up.... was standing at the bathroom sink, took a massive I wasn't expecting this hit and ended up on my ass, teetering on the edge of the bathtub. I don't have that video, but I do have this.

Needs better editing, but uhm... I was and have been VERY medicated. I'm going to have to kiss Wat's ass. Since last night, I decided to try some of the 3 ounces of AVB I have and it tasted as good as fresh herb and gave me at least 2 pretty milky hits per load. Even if I run out of fresh stuff, I'm still hooked up, thanks to the HI.

I've been dying to talk about it, since I got it. Just didn't want there to be any sore feelings. I hope people take the time to read the circumstances and realize I didn't get, anything they would want, given the things I'm testing for. Hell, some people are extremely allergic to Sumac (though, there's literally like 100s of strains, poison ivy is even in the same family). I'll just try to keep a black light away from it, whenever cameras are near (Sumac glows under blacklight) ;)

It's all good here, BDV. Easy for me to say, but I think HI-ly of other JedHIs-in-waiting and am confident nobody minds, though I'm sure some are envious.

Sweet vids BDV.looks like you ve had plenty of practice already..The Hi is a showstopper.I immediately on recieving mine ordered more.I did nt waste any time.I was so impresssed.Took me like 5 minutes mulling over how i could afford more and what id have to do without to get them. toothpaste deodorant bread milk petrol:DI m just about ready to become a caveman myself!
The Saxo is a bit more obvious.
I did nt think there was any drag?.It does chug a little on full pull though.so its a little noticeable with the minimum percolation then?Is that youre opinion, maybe not quite enough?

The Saxo itself doesn't have any drag. Its just when the load gets packed, during a pull... you can feel it a lot more on the Saxo, than the BDV.

Thats good to hear BDV.I may wait for PV glass to go with the Hi.updates are sounding very impressive.the saxo is so tempting,I may have to have both.I have my dubbub which is solid but totally unstable.chink!.I really want a special piece for the Hi.Anyway like all good things a waiting and decision making game.
Been looking forward to youre Hi opinion Have fun and will look forward to your'e ongoing thoughts after Hi honeymoon bliss!

edit due to depraved excitement and ensuing insanity caused by BDV's vids, looking at that saxo fizzing is like music to my ears.i want one! nice job

The HI is back on track running at precisely 11.80 compliments of my new Hildbrandt. You were right Vapinghole. ;) I've noticed this unit weighs twice as much as the cheaper model. It's obviously more 'heavy' duty. Damn,,,I'm gone for a minute and come back and there's a new JedHI testing 'Poisonous' wood specimens for Alan Wan Kenobi??? Welcome BDV.... Don't get your lips too close to your HI sabre!

here for the chicks
Congrats on your HI BDV, I'm glad you get to enjoy one too at least for a while. Lets hope that Sumo stays in one piece

I guess vaping just became a lot less work for you aye?

Would you mind taking a picture of that special stem you received btw? Alan described it to me via email but I would love to get a closer look since it'll probably be a while since he has time to make me one.

Alan, good luck with the move man!

I still need to answer you mail but I assume you won't have much time for those anyway right now so I won't rush myself

I've made a great discovery in my HIsaber Padawan training.

This thing  AVB. I'm running low on my meds and I've got 3 ounces of AVB. Up until maybe the last month, I always vaped with the intent to save AVB... rarely would I get it to the "popcorn" taste. Soon as it started tasting kind of rank in the MFLB, I'd throw it in the jar.

Yeah... means I've got a lot of greenish/brown AVB. What the Hell, I thought. Let's give it a try. OH MY! This is AVB? Honestly, all I'm really tasting are about a hundred different flavors of different strains. Getting at least 2 THICK pulls off each, with a 3rd wispy. But, I wouldn't ever know it was AVB, unless you told me. And the @#$% is BOMB. I am quite pleasantly medicated.

Whee! This is fun!

Did my review on the Mini Hydrator, brought the BDV back out. Hammer time!

Congrats on your HI BDV, I'm glad you get to enjoy one too at least for a while. Lets hope that Sumo stays in one piece

So far, the Sumac is holding well. I showed Alan a picture of it, after my first session (I know, stupid to NOT take a picture before). High Res pics... he looked at them and said, its the exact same size. I'm not running it 24/7... but it does stay on for hours at a time. Crack hasn't grown at all. I'm not sure its a machining crack. I think its a natural crack, against the grain... so keeping my fingers crossed. Its a beautiful piece, be a shame if the wood didn't hold out. I'm thinking it will though.

I'll get a pic in your PMs. Doubt it will be tonight, unless I get a wild hair up my ass. I'm in one room, its in the other. This BDV is @#$%ing heavy and the HIsaber isn't helping matters. But, if I remember before bed... I'll hit you up. Otherwise, sometime tomorrow.

thanks for the help guys. my biggest problem is I'm a dunce with my voltage tester...it was giving me wierd readings last night. I do have the MFLB PA, though, and will give that a run later. I did enjoy the stems last night with the PD adapter.

Alan, are the Hi's using the same resistor as the older log vapes (PD, Zaps, etc.), or did you use a different one?

I am using the identical resistor that all log vapes have used. I experimented with lots of different resistors in the beginning, but the Ohmite is hard to beat.

BDV - Nice video of your Leviathan tube. That is some dark vapor. Glad you are able to extract more from your ABV. There usually isn't too much left after using the HI.

OTA - Thanks. No hurry on the email. Here is a photo of my new tube. Had not made them before because I thought I would need to purchase a special tool to make them. Turns out I had the tool all along. I just had to modify it. I believe they are identical to the tips that Rick was making for the CRZ. The length of the SS is 1" with the groove in the center of the tube. The screen is 1/4" in diameter and hammered smooth before cutting which seems to help it stay clean longer. The tip can be set into poly or wood as well. The glass tube can be ground with a 14mm gong end.

Jeppy - Glad to hear your HI took a licking but still kept on ticking. It will be nice to have reliable voltage for your unit.

u bwade wunner - Looking forward to cutting into the wood you sent me. Always an adventure to see what you will find inside.

Vape N Bake - Good to have you on the list. Sorry to make you wait.

Tomorrow will be fine, no rush.

I see, Alan got to it. Sweet, ain't it? Though... I'm still and always will be a glass+water dude.

...have fun with you ABV

OH YEAH! LAUGH IT UP FUNNY BOY!

Besides... went to see a friend today. I still have some of my own Purple Kush. Its a mid grade. Had a rough go before it made it into my grinder. Which, that grinder was set for espresso and the MFLB. Stuff, vapes like a dream, in the box. Not so much, in a HI.

So when I got HIsaber Sumac, I was unprepared. Though, I had some older ABV of coarser grind, that wasn't ever really vaped, past 70-80%. That's a good amount of leftovers. Like food... I've got NO problems with edible leftovers. Plus, it actually wasn't unpleasant.

HOWEVER TODAY IS DIFFERENT! <angels singing>

Today, I went to see a friend. Friend hooked me UP! 3 strains 3g each... TOP shelf.

Ain't laughing now, are ya... buddy!? ;)

Yeah, today I got to go back to an old school (like 8 months ago) grinder. Big ol' (medium really) Sharpstone 2 pc. Perfect grind for HIsaber Sumac. OH yeah... perfect grind. Hehe he he he hehehehe...

Got plenty of ALL day meds, for a good while.

The new tubes are very nice Alan. I can see that, once you are settled again, I'll be having to place another order with you. :D My VAAS (vapor accessory acquisition syndrome) just went zing....

Your VAAS is ALWAYS in zing... smh...

Yesterday I was blown away with sumac and glass vids.I had to find a hammock with a power point near and lie down for plenty of rest and rehab with my Hi:cool:this helped too of course and the open air.

Alan nice stem.I adapted Eds Crz stems to work in the Hi the same way.You can leave the dimple off centre for two different bowl load sizes too like the original tip.Did anyone ever use different sides of the SS tip or was tht just me?.an 8mm dowl is great for pushing the screen square up to the ridge.Makes it easy.I was using your'e bamboo stirrer to center the screen but it kept going skew whiff and flipping as i pushed it home.now its easy and never moves once you seat it square with the dowl.
Did you use a tube cutter to dimple the tube?.its less work for you, quicker heat up now with less heat mass in the tip.Good on you streamlining your'e setup.
Is is the metal held in the glass interference fit or with silicone?.I will have to get you to make me a 18mm wong when you get a chance, but hey all laterz no rush.

u bwade wunner - Looking forward to cutting into the wood
jeez Alan thats a nice thing to hear.think i need to lie down again after that, take care with the move and look after your'e back.plenty of timeout in an armchair, tea and a hot hi..ohh and a cavegirl if theres any near you. They say its one of the most stressful things Moving. But I m sure it will be worth it and i hope everything fits together like magic in your e new home
