Herborizer corner

Well, I'm extremely sad to say that my Herborizer has fallen to the same fate as those listed above. :(

I've only used it about 7 times now. When I got it out last night to use it, I showed my friend and while she was looking at it she noticed that the heat injector was cracked. It looks exactly the same as the one in the pictures posted above but mine is not a XL :uhoh:. I've been so careful with this thing that I know it wasn't cracked by mistreatment. It still works but this just seems very unfortunate.

This is the worst fucking night ever. :(

Yesterday, I went to my local headshop and bought a brand new straight 13in, 5mm Sheldon Black tube to hook my Heborizer up to. The double perc RooR wasn't working out to well and was requiring way to much effort in order to get a good sized hit. I figured something small like this would work great with the Herborizer.

I emailed Sebastian last week about the cracked tip of my heat injector and all I needed to do was take a pic of it and email it back to him. Well, I didn't really have time to do that this week up until did last night when I bought the Sheldon. The Herborizer still seemed to work but it was just cracked so I used it about 5 separate times up until later today and it was the most satisfying thing ever. The hits were so much bigger than before and it was just so much easier to get a good solid rip.

Flash forward to tonight... My Colts vs the Jets. Colts lose. I have a couple friends over and I want to show off the new combination of the Heborizer on the Sheldon so after the loss we all go relieve some frustration. I let the Herborizer heat up and we all have an amazing session. Friend who had hit it when it was hooked up to the RooR loved it so much more now. They all fell in love with the set up. We all go back inside and I still have everything connected in my garage but the Herborizer had been turned off. I walk back out to grab a beer and trip over the extension cord that was connected to the heat injector of the Herborizer. The heat injector goes flying to the ground and shatters into pieces.

So not only did I fuck myself over by not taking a pic of the broken heat injector after it had been cracked, but I just spent $220 on a new piece to hook up to this device. Completely my fault though and that's what sucks. If a buddy would have broke it, I wouldn't have cared.

Now this is where I need help. I'm trying to figure out what to do. Should I order just another heat injector since I already have all the other pieces? It's just $153.06 for just the injector. The problem is, I'd have to order it from France. Would that make it though customs? I live right next to one of the only US headshops that carries it but they only sell the standard set. Should I just get the heat wand instead?

Sorry to triple post but I'm having trouble ordering from the Herborizer website. It won't let me add anything to the cart. Is anyone else experiencing the same issue? I tried two different computers and several different browsers to see if that would make a difference. I emailed Sebastien but still haven't heard back from him.

*ETA*

I heard back from Sebastien but he believes the site is working fine. I don't what else to do? I click on the "Add to Cart" button and it's not doing a damn thing. He said there is a link to the cart on the left side of the page near the "View Card" link but I don;t see that either. Can someone else please try this and see you encounter the same issue?

I can add things to cart just fine. Using Google Chrome. And I do see the "view cart" link as well..?

Does anyone know what the size of the INJECTOR piece is? I know the bowl is a 18mm joint but is the injector portion some special size or is it a large standard? I'm thinking about having something custom made for the injector bowl but I need to know the size.

The injector is a standard 24/29 ground glass connection.

Hey 2000pm. What kind of custom piece are you thinking of getting done?

I've often thought about a mod to make a smaller bowl. I've got all the extreme Q pieces so I can't stop thinking about wacking an elbow screen in there. I need an adaptor with an 18mm female joint at one end and a 24/29mm female at the other to complete my plan.

Has any one seen or done a similar bowl mod for their Herborizer??? :peace:

Yeah, I think the herborizer could use a 'high efficiency' bowl. I want to ask a glass blower to make something custom for me, but I haven't really thought out a design. I was thinking a narrow bowl, almost as narrow as log vape stems. Maybe someone else could try getting one made?

I haven't thought it through completely myself. To be honest, the reason I want one is because I broke my current bowl and just wanted a replacement that I didn't have to ship from France (which I just had to do for my injector that stopped working so $$$ already - but Seb was awesome to work with on that). I also had broken the XL body a while ago (yea mutilated the thing down to the injector basically) so I've been using it out of my illadelph beaker.

As far as design I want a sturdier handle first, and I too wanted to reduce the overall volume in there for better efficiency if that actually is the case. I wonder what the best distance is for the herb to be from the tip of the injector? I'm guessing there are too many variables on that to consider (vaping temp, power of the draw, width of bowl, etc) but it would be nice to be able to design a more efficient bowl.

And maybe something bigger than the original bowl too, for crazy sessions lol.

My injector has only a crack

Hi all, :D

I've been testing a new injector during a month, and it's ok. Sebastien has found the problem. This injector, the fourth, was tested by Sebastien before he sent it to me.

All people in the cannabiscafe.net forum that had problems with injectors, Sebastien has repaired all injectors.

Thank you Sebastien. :)

Herborizer is a great vape, very good flavor, good quality of vapor. In my home I only use herborizer, but I prefer use a Bubbler XXL (by Delicatessen Glass) instead of Sphere (by Herborizer), altough Sphere is good for several situations.

Greetings.

Just registered. Checked the forum for about a week before ordering the Herborizer as my first vape. (It's on its way.) I also like the looks of the De Verdamper. Does anyone know if the De Verdamper heating element can be used with the Herborizer bowl? I.e. are the joints the same size? Because that might make the De Verdamper heating element easier to use with custom glass.

the verdampers element has a bigger male end(not sure of size) that goes into the bowl then the bowl has an 18mm joint on the bottom. So you need a male to male adaptor to work with custom glass.

meduser#420,
I just wanted to add my love for my Herborizer to this thread. I just added it to my collection because I wanted an all glass vape that didn't require the active handling of the Vriptech (which my stoned ass already broke once). I have not been disappointed. While I think the vapor coming from the Vriptech is somewhat superior, the Herborizer is much easier to use and seemingly more durable (plus the vapor is still light years ahead of the rest of the competition). I have used it a handful of times now, and already have some amazing resin buildup right at the waterline. This thing is great, and it has taken up permanent residence in the cabin of my boat for the summer. If anybody is considering this vape but is hesitant because of the price, I would encourage them to bite the bullet and pay up. You will not be disappointed at all. The flavor of this vape is so great, and it produces an awesome cloud.

I'm so in love with my herbo too...I own it since a while and it is my everyday vape, switched to vaping completely. I use it with my Icemaster RooR 5" but I gotta find a replace glass, since I dropped it few months ago, and I'm goin on with glue and tape.... :\ wondering if it's possible to buy just the tube, or sphere, without heating element.

Earlier I mentioned that my heat injector had a crack in it. I had continued to use it with the crack because it was still working fine and I couldn't imagine being without it for a long period of time.

Well my power adapter died on me a few months back so I bit the bullet and sent the heat injector back to France for repairs. Seb at herborizer put a brand new heat injector in the mail when my cracked one arrived and I patiently watched the tracking for a couple of weeks. So the new one has arrived but of course there was no new power adapter in the package haha!

Onto the new heat injector. I think it has thicker glass but it's hard for me to say without the old one to compare to. I will say that it feels very solid whereas the old one did feel a bit fragile. The holes where the air exits the heat injector are little higher on the new one meaning they are not near the edge of the metal heater or on the tapering bit of the glass.

Unfortunately I can't use it until I buy a power adapter, but when the herbo is in working order it is usually my daily driver. It really is very easy to use. I just wish it had a smaller bowl :p

manchild,
I've had some time with a used Herbo I got from a great forum member, and I'd like to chime in. It's a normal unit, not the XL. I cannot help compare it to the MW, my DD for some some time, and a similar vape in many ways.

The Herborizer is quite a good vaporizer! Flavor is maybe 8/10, cloud production about the same, and heater element heat retention is excellent, better than the 7th floor vapes and roughly on par with the Magickwand. I do not at all feel a need to allow the heating element to recover from a big rope, it seems ready immediately. I think the cables on the Herbo feel more sturdy. The single set temp is a fair compromise, you can take material to a very consistent brown. The set temp however is a real bummer to concentrate vapers, and this could have been remedied with some sort of second set of ice pinches higher up the bowl, where a screen could rest if the user desired, thus raising temps that the herbals would be exposed to. I also really, really dislike the tiny handles on the injector and bowl. While they do give a very nice elegant aesthetic to the unit and all, they're also tiny, slippery, and not all that far removed from the hot glass. The handles should be bigger, beefier, and extend further from the body of the vape. Couple the awkwardness of the injector with the weight of the cord hanging from it, and you have an awkward-ass, dangerously hot piece of glass begging to be mishandled ever so slightly and dropped. My injector appears to have just the tiniest evidence of some faint faint cracks on the injector's bottom. After reading others' posts I'm still not terribly worried. I think the injector design IS however one of the Herbo's greatest strengths, as "hot spotting" is very very minimal, heat is distributed to four corners of the bowl and I find only a single or maybe double stirring is necessary to extract all from a bowl. The entire injector portion should be made an inch or two taller, then you could simply grab the top of the glass safely like you can with the Magickwand.

I find both the Herbo and MW have a tendency to actually produce thicker vapor when you draw faster, which is different than alot of other vapes. In summation I think they are roughly equal vapes. Both have excellent heat retention, while the MW I think has slightly better flavor, and I prefer the larger form factor of the "injector" portion makes it safer and easier to hold. Its silicone sleeve protects it from impacts as well as helping to reduce heat somewhat. The Magickwand heater portion uses a 19mm male, which is far more universal, allowing the use of it (potentially) on vapes like the glass vaporgenie, and any number of carbon-filter type bowls. The Herbo however has the multi-holed injector design and this makes for almost no hot spotting, which the Magickwand does deal with to some extent. Both are very, very good vapes, and my choosing between them if I were going to buy new would probably be determined on whether I was living in the US or Europe.

Is it officially okay to leave the Herbo on for 12 or even 24 hour periods?

Yeah, I usually fire it up, then vape 15-20 mins later. I forgot to turn it off once, it stayed on for the whole night, from 19.00 to 08.00, no problem. Just a blackening of the heater but that's normal if it stays on for some time. The handles are tiny yes, and a bit hot too when te unit is rest for a time while on and not using, must be lil' accurate when handling it, that's a price to pay for the whole pure glass effect. I usually stir it up twice, taking the bowl out and shaking it gently. I always use it on the couch while enjoying tv, or talking with mates. The fixed temp has never been an issue for me, one bowl session lasts 15 minutes usually for me and my gal, in the evening I enjoy it with some ice. Never combusted, when it's over it simply stops delivering vapor.
Herborizer is a great unit indeed, the only downside that I can tell about is fragility, but that may be a quality aspect too! In time, I learned the hard way how to be more gentle while handling my stuff :)

Has anyone noticed the herborizer can now be considered a portable vape. :D
Not quite as stealth as the launch box.

Link doesn't open for me. This is a nice option to have! Although I won't prolly get it cause carrying my glass around has been proven very dangerous xD I prefer keeping my main unit safe at home.

Ahhh the link works for me. Damn it! The battery pack looks much like the regular Herbo power adapter box thing.

I can't se myself getting this either, my herbo is definitely a couch time vape. For me it'd be handy at home when vaping a distance away from the power point or if there was a power outage maybe. The battery claims to have a fairly respectable capacity at 3 hours vaping time which is pretty good if it's true!

There's also a car power adadpter on the website that I had never paid attention to before. Not sure how long that's been there.
